The Dark Knight Rises |OT2| The Legend... Continues

It was misplaced.
Shoulda had Earle play Daggett's role in TDKR. You know these rich white guys always bounce back, woulda been solid political commentary to have Earle be powerful as ever running a construction company despite his prior buffoonery, only to have his neck snapped by Bane off screen.

Just saw it again on Blu-ray. Those IMAX scenes are stunning. Wish the whole film could've been shot that way.

My 2nd viewing confirmed for me that Rises is the best movie in the trilogy. Each of them have their highs, but TDKR never drags at any point. Each act delivers, and the ending was perfection.

Knowing that Blake is Nolan's Robin upon a 2nd viewing makes it even better. Blake plays the sidekick role the whole time, working with Batman and Gordon almost just as you'd expect in this universe. And now it all makes sense... I'd also be hyped to see Justice League work off of this ending and bring in JGL.

The final fight should have had Bruce take off the mask because it was stifling him. Then he pulls out a sword and fights Bane on the iced-over lake that people have been sentenced to walk over! (oh shit) Then the Ra's ghost comes back and shouts encouraging reminders like 'Mind your surroundings!' and 'I counted six, Mr. Wayne!' that don't completely make sense within context, but are throwbacks nonetheless and therefore completely important.

Awesome.

LeBrick: Blake is not Robin ....

One thing I realized was that...Bruce Wayne was in hiding for 8 years...and Batman wasn't around for 8 years....then Bruce Wayne comes back and so does Batman...

Did no one in Gotham make the connection?

What happened to Bale?!

Bruce didn't become a recluse until 5 years before TDKR, not 8. He spent a few years working on the fusion reactor.

Watching this now. Batman just killed a guy:
driver of the truck carrying the bomb at the end

Isn't that a clear violation of his code?

Ah I did not catch that part.

Batman indirectly killed a lot of people. He blew up the LoS building lol. I'm sure there were also ppl in the building he conveniently blew up when it was in his way as he was flying the bomb out.

I would have loved to see Bruce don the Begins suit for the final fight just so he could get brutally massacred because he can't even turn his god damned head. Bane doing the two step before putting a finishing blow to the back of Bruce's skull would have been the most cathartic moment in film history, an explosion of blood from Wayne's mouth has his eyes well up and bug out from the force of his brain being liquified by the ferocity and speed of a fully rejuvenated League of Shadows, his city lost. His legacy, vaporized in the blinding light of a neutron bomb. Poetry.

I got your fan fiction right here, mother fucker.

Loved that part. I don't even see how he got the suit back. Wouldn't Bane have it? Did Bruce have more than one? Never saw it. Anyways. Begins please. That would've been a pretty great moment.

Or he could've at least brought out some new suit he was working on. Either way, him wearing the old suit was underwhelming as hell.

Pretty sure he killed the guy driving the garbage truck in TDK. Also some civilians when he was randomly blowing up cars in the tunnel while driving the batpod (he almost burned two kids alive in that scene as well). He also killed like 3 dogs.

Nolan-Bats is a dickhead.

He had a backup in the underground light cave from TDK. Which was more awesome to see than that shitty Begins suit.

It makes 0 sense to carry around the Begins suit. He hated it! And wearing it to fight Bane would have been laughable.

Wasn't he using that cave as a temporary cave while the other cave was still being built? At any rate, TDK implied multiple suits again since he had one sitting around in that secret room when the joker crashed Dents party. Forgot about that.

Baleman has killed dozens if not hundreds of people in that Batnolman movies. Not a single fuck was given by anyone.

Yeah it was shit, you don't even hear a crack, and the way Bane delivers his line in that scene is terrible. The more I think about this movie the worse it gets.

His line (about breaking) or lines? I thought his delivery in that scene was pretty good overall. Very haunting.

I assumed he kept it as a back up. If he kept all his eggs in one basket he would have been fucked. He even had a secret garage for his Batpod! It was a cool subtle way to show how Batman has the city mapped out to do his thing. Which is why i never understood the bitch fest with how he got back to Gotham at the end.

I feel the same way. I really do. It never drags for me. The whole boat bomb sequence in TDK really bored me to tears. I find myself FF through it.

Those were parked cars along the side of the road.

Well the truck driving henchman in TDK was killed by shrapnel from the RPG hitting the batmobile, and those ninjas that were burned alive at the LOS HQ resulted from him setting the place on fire.

So... he's OK with killing as long as it's not the direct intention of his action.

Just the line when he breaks him. Sounded like he rushed through it, honestly not enough importance or gravitas was given to the backbreaking in that scene.

I thought that scene was great. Giving it more gravitas introduces the possibility of poorly done fake dramatic pauses and such. I liked it as is.

Stupid and reckless. You've never seen someone sitting in parked cars on the side of the road? I see it aaaallll tthhheee tiiimmeeee. I really hated that part. Pretty much sums up why I think Nolans Batman was written horribly inconsistent.

Well yeah, but you made it sound like they were cars being driven at the time. They at least made the effort of them being parked cars.

Also, I will never think Begins is better than TDK. It's just not a better film dammit!

BB is one of 10-12 examples I could come up with as a "perfect" blockbuster/popcorn movie. I don't even have any issues with the third act, even if it is weaker than the first two amazing ones.

Honestly, if Nolan have shot TDK and TDKR in Chicago like BB, it would have been improved alot.
