NeoGAF Fantasy Football Paypal League(s) - Season 4

If anyone wants to put in a claim on the Buccaneers D/ST unit to keep them away from Frankman, I'd be most appreciative.

They're the consensus #8 defense this week with their matchup at home against the Eagles (who have Bryce Brown and nothing else).

Phoenix might appreciate starting them over Green Bay (who are without Clay Matthews).
Surely Crazymoogle doesn't want to start the Giants against New Orleans. Brees can't get picked off 5 times every week.
Dinner Out might not want to trust a Falcons D/ST unit that struggled against the Panthers at home earlier this season.

LOL. Come on, Frankman, all's fair in fantasy football. :P
Technically, I could have even snapped up the Bucs again with them falling off the waiver wire. Crazymoogle grabbed them as a free agent.

No real reason to believe they'll do any better than the Jags will against the dreadful Jets (who are still trotting out the Sanchize).
Clearly Frankman feels the same way or he would have picked them up himself.

You'd know.

HOW MAD?

Dude, it's been two years and you're still wrong. GET OVER IT. I'm not missing the playoffs due to fumbles + injury. You wanted a better slot, pick people that'll score more points in a game. I'm tired of this crap, why don't you man up and debate me on the topic instead of whining like a biggetty biggetty bitch for two years?

You want some "revenge" for your imagined slight? Join the league next year and beat me. Did you see Ubertag whining after I beat him earlier? NO! He's facing me this week and is in great position to give me comeuppance. And if that happens I'll congratulate him for a great back-and-forth. Seriously, it's people like you that made me stop my postgame writeups because I was being "too mean".

Frank, your "I sat him to avoid missing the playoffs because I could have scored negative points" cover story just isn't true. You had a 14+ point cushion to work with... meaning the RB you didn't start would've had to fumble and turnover the ball like 6-7+ times and go for negative or no yardage. There's no way that was happening.

You said yourself what you were hoping to accomplish.

The Frankman said:
To effect matchups, I decided to sit Benjarvus Green-Ellis (I wont say who I was trying to face).

I don't know what I'm wrong about.

Not really. I already beat you and the prospect of putting up with you being you for another 13+ weeks (and paying money for the "privilege" to do so) doesn't excite me too much, sorry. Even if I won it would be another miserable experience.

I try at times :D.

It gets boring at times, you should've seen when Ubertag and I were doing WWE trashtalk last year! Ubertag knows how to push my buttons well.
I miss the WrassleGAF banter. Those were good times. Was fun playing up the rivalry over there.

I will be active in the chat room on Sunday. Hope you will be too.
We can trash talk and mourn every big play as it happens.

Hope this all comes down to some less than a point craziness with Daniels and Graham on Monday night. Although it will be tough to top that nailbiter from this week. Holy crow! I was nervous for you guys and I had nothing riding on that game.

Incidentally, I'll be rooting for Frankman to take the league title if he bests me this weekend. If you're going to lose, you want to lose to the eventual winner.
That being said, I have and will continue to play every angle I can think of to win each and every week.

...

then why you posting here brah?

Is your life so incomprehensibly boring you trying to start shit from the past?

I mean seriously?

forget it. I'm out. This shit ain't worth it tonight.

I have some doubt about Cecil Short and Brandon LaFell for the upcomming playoffs. Should I keep them in my bench, hoping they'll get ok for the next 2 weeks, or should I drop them?

If you can get somebody better than LaFell, I'd see no problem dumping him. He's been an inconsistent producer even when healthy.
Shorts I would hang on to. If he passes his concussion tests for Weeks 15 & 16, he should be a more than capable WR2 in your lineup.

Need a playoff win and I'm guaranteed some monies! Help me out GAF!

QB: Kaepernick vs Mia
WR: Miles Austin @ Cin
WR: T.Y. Hilton vs Ten
RB: Ray Rice @ Was
RB: Knowshon Moreno @Oak
TE: Jimmy Graham @NYG
FLEX: Victor Cruz vs NO
FLEX: Mike Wallace vs SD
K: David Akers vs Mia
DEF: San Fran vs Mia

Bench
Justin Blackmon vs NYJ
Stevan Ridley vs Hou
Carson Palmer vs Den
Chris Givens @Buf
Denver D @Oak

Having problems deciding which QB to start, considering Kaepernick's problems last week, and Palmer's success.

Also whether or not to play San Francisco D or Denver's. Do you think Palmer can exploit the defense?

Quoting this to see if you guys have any recommendations for last minute changes..
I'm iffy about starting Miles Austin now..

Crazy lineup move for me prior to this week's pivotal NQ4 fantasy showdown with Frankman... I'm benching Steve Smith for BOTH Kenny Britt and newly acquired Andrew Hawkins.
In equally crazy news, I'm benching both Aaron Rodgers and blazing hot Pierre Garcon in my Economy Team's lineup vs. Puddles.

I'M INSANE I TELL YOU! INSANE!

Fuck, was gonna swap Austin out for Givens.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
Perhaps that fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck was premature.
Austin just scored and the Rams passing game isn't getting anything done against the Bills D this afternoon.
Whoops, that TD call was also premature. Austin out of bounds.

Of course Matty Ice isn't going to do anything in this game; it's just the fantasy playoffs.
I'm surprisingly not too disappointed to see Matty Ice continuing to be awful this week.
I couldn't very well bench him for Russell Wilson vs. the Cards... and Locker has been underwhelming the past couple weeks.

But very happy to see him being miserable for both you and Roddy White facing me in the Economy League.
It's quite likely I will be BENCHING Matty Ice for Wilson next week as he faces my Bills in Toronto if I'm still alive for Week 15 in NQ4.

Rice was my biggest concern this week as I face him in both leagues. But Flacco has been content to throw passing TDs to his receivers.

Dumb things I once said earlier in this thread that may come back to haunt me this season.

Here's this week's...

Frankman has been super-active on the waiver front yet seems to have fallen prey to picking up fashionable one-week flyers only to not start them and sit them on his bench when there's minimal chance for them to carve out a full-time role. (For a perfect example of this, look no further than Danario Alexander earning the spot start this week for a terrible Philip Rivers.)

Today of all days I wake up fucking late fml
After scoring the most points in NQ4 this season, you're in serious danger of getting bounced this week by Hookers And Blow. :(

So if I had made absolutely no moves this week (keeping Dreessen instead of picking up Tamme), I'd be ahead. And if I had gone with my early decision to not use kickers, I'd have an actual shot at this game despite Ubertag still having three guys yet to take the field.

I wish there were a way to eliminate kickers and defenses from the fantasy playoffs while keeping them for the rest of the season. Luck has a lot to do with everything in fantasy, but kickers are a level above that, because aside from missed field goals, their points are entirely based on what the rest of the team does. So if a runningback's points in any given week are (skill x luck), a kicker's points are (skill x luck^2)

In all probablility Dinner out and FPL are done. I'll be joining them unless Eli/Cruz/Moore score around 50.

The funny thing is it's very possible they could.

The ESPN method of reducing luck in this instance is to go with two-week playoff rounds. (In a league this big, it means weeks 12-17 are the playoffs) That way your DEF/K contribute but their effect is averaged out over two weeks.

Of course my team has the most points this week at the moment(2 playing right now and 1 tonight)...yet I'm not playing anyone cuz I'm in a consolation bye week. My team was good enough to win the whole fucking Economy league...Had 2 close losses and another where I should have started Miller instead of Pettigrew that would have given me the win.

That is a pretty brilliant solution.

I am most definitely going to lose to Ubertag unless Bradshaw has the game of his life. Not salty about it though, since the Broskis are just a better team.

As a reminder, the Econ League payout is $80-$30-$10. Everyone paid up, so there won't be a problem with funding. I'll get the money to the winners promptly after the final round ends.

Looks like Sinistar is done. Clearly there was a very good reason I did not want to face Azwethinkweiz this week.
He's going to wind up with over 130+ points. At least.

The winner of the Dinner Out-Crazymoogle contest is going to have their hands full with him in Week 15.

So sick of Hakeem Nicks this season. Constantly injured and underperforming.
I bet you there's someone out there that drafted Nicks, Run DMC, FJax and Aaron Hernandez. Backing those studs up with the likes of Antonio Gates, Santonio Holmes and Beanie Wells. And quarterbacked by Philip Rivers.

What a team that would be!

Well I suppose things could be worse for me. Adrian Peterson has saved me. But Larry Fitzgerald and Nicks have cost me multiple games, including today potentially. Down by 30, have Nicks, Tynes, Jennings, and Marshawn Lynch, opponent has Jermichael Finley. Still manageable, but it looks like Lynch won't getting too many more touches given how far up the Seahawks are.

Yeah, Lynch is taking the rest of the day off. He got pulled once the Seachickens went up 31-0.

Still playing it looks like, and getting huge chunks of yardage. Maybe there's still hope yet. I have to win to make playoffs pretty much.
Weird. Looks like he was just getting a breather until the half. Not sure why they'd put him back out there.
Is Carroll looking to pull a Belichick on the Cards by running up the score?

Looks like they've finally benched the starters. Flynn and Turbin getting work now.

Holy fuck I actually have a lead w/ plenty of gametime remaining in NQ$. Brees will keep passing, meaning Moore (and Graham) will see opportunities. Also Eli and Cruz could connect since the Saints are known for explosive scoring.

I still stand to lose (unless weatehr in GB is horrible), but at least I'm not going to get blown out like it looked like earlier.

Bless this Seattle D/ST.
A number of otherwise terrible teams will be coasting into their semifinals over their league's top seeds this weekend on the backs of the Seattle D and the terrible Cardinals offense.

Our matchup was always going to be close. I've locked up my matchup against Puddles but I'm taking nothing for granted in NQ4. Will probably go down to Graham vs. Daniels on Monday night.
The OTHER Graham needs to start getting it together. :(
Of course, Sproles goes crazy today on my bench... with actual running back work no less.
