Haters gonna hate. Maybe he should just apologizing for having his own opinion?
I'd accept an apology, yes.
Haters gonna hate. Maybe he should just apologizing for having his own opinion?
That's not an inconsistency so much as a difference of perspective where one side is showing a dogged adherence to its dogma, which I don't find implausible from a being such as that.

The first couple days after a lot of people finished the game I'd wager a lot of us spent way more time thinking about and forum-ing about the game ending than was probably healthy.
Yeah it would be great. Other podcasts have it and it's great there. Unlikely to happen any time soon though, because of Ryan Davis being a boneheaded bonehead.timestamps would be a great feature for the bombcast. that way people can skip things they want to.
There's a reason it took almost two full threads on gaf to contain the trauma, and how easy it bubbled up in this thread again.
Put it this way: what would be the optimal last gaming memory of 2012?
a) puzzling over a Frankenstein of an ending that, endless debate/anguish/disgust aside, generally doesn't satisfy the player as much as one may like, or
b) dressing up like a pantsless Shinen the Wanderer, running around a city, grabbing people, throwing them into the backs of cars, driving said car down the freeway as fast as you can go, blasting Machine Head at full volume as you drive, leaping out as the car veers off of the road, shooting the tires out in slow-mo, and then grabbing the nearest pedestrian and breaking their legs?
Make the right choice here, Brad.
I feel like it's better to end the year the way we started it, shitting on Mass Effect.

you are joking right? even a 5th grader could point out the inconsistances.
the biggest one beinghow the star child says organics and synthis can co-exist. even thought you can get joker and edi together and unite the quarian and geth
That's not a plot hole. Mass effect 3 ending spoiler. The peace between Geth and Quarian is too recent to know if it will last a year, 5 years,1000 years etc. The Starchild isn't talking about short term peace.

I foolishly thought this thread was about Giant Bomb, apparently I walked right into a ME3 ending thread by accide-oh wait a minute.

One thing I'll say is, I've spent more of the last 18 hours researching everything to do with the ME3 ending than any person should.

Matthew Rorie posted a piece on Far Cry 3 on his blog a few days ago, detailing some faults that he sees in the game - something that is going to be relevant to the coming GOTY discussion:

To me, the very serious performance issues on consoles disqualify the game even before considering any of the gameplay issues he raises.
Enjoyed reading Matt's perspective on the game. The man knows the medium, and he brings up a lot of things the Giant Bomb guys haven't really touched on regarding Far Cry 3's flaws beyond character and story.Matthew Rorie posted a piece on Far Cry 3 on his blog a few days ago, detailing some faults that he sees in the game - something that is going to be relevant to the coming GOTY discussion:

I want this to happen.I haven't heard anything about a position over there, but if they want me they can definitely have me!

Also his guides that he wrote are well done.
Eh, he likely got a nice package.Rorie got fucked and I'm still convinced nobody told him jackshit what was happening

You know, I did my best to not form an unfair opinion of Gies when he was talking in the journalism thread before, but this twitter nonsense won't stop me. Absurd.God damn, I'm not one for caring if someone likes what I don't like (or vice versa), but it really grates on me when people discount others' opinions because of what they think the 'real' issue is.
Brad, what has become of you?!One thing I'll say is, I've spent more of the last 18 hours researching everything to do with the ME3 ending than any person should.
I didn't say anything about the sale. When he was fired he probably got a decent severance package is all I'm saying.Seems highly unlikely, he probably got the boot. Editorial staff usually doesn't profit when a company is sold.

What did he think of DA2?
It isn't even debatable that that game sucked so it's a pretty good shill test
Vinny needs more support for Sleepin Dogs during GOTY!
Fantastic blog post by Rorie. Highlights pretty much all my complaints with Far Cry 3. Seriously overrated game filled to the brim with poor and lackluster design decisions. Amazing fun in the first 5 hours though.Matthew Rorie posted a piece on Far Cry 3 on his blog a few days ago, detailing some faults that he sees in the game - something that is going to be relevant to the coming GOTY discussion:

I don't know if it's just the hair and facial expression, but for some reason Gies reminds me of Terry Goodkind.
Was Rorie even let go? Screened still existed after the sale. I was under the impression he and Alex could have stayed if they wanted, but they decided not to. If that's the case he didn't get jack squat.
Seeing how the guys haven't even picked up any interns yet, I don't think they're in a position to hire anybody yet.

Make the right choice here, Brad.
