Totally disagree! The best Superman stories are the ones that focus less on the Super parts and more on the actual Man.
The true failure of both trailers is not to feature the villain in any meaningful way (one clear shot, no line of dialogue?), and I think I've pinpointed that as the reason both trailers did nothing for me, even considering Zack Snyder. You need to establish the villain almost equally, even in trailers, because he should be almost as interesting and important in the movie, and because these movies basically boil down to 1v1 grudge matches. Nolan's Batman movies did this well, even in marketing (trailers, the Joker billboards, the Batman/Bane Vs screen billboards), and it's something they've gotten wrong with Superman the last couple of times. Again, it's "Oh cool, it's Superman and..no one else of note, I guess?" and it's one of the reasons I think Superman gets a pretty tepid response these days - no villains [that are featured]. The very first teaser should have already established Zod as a meaningful presence, don't care that you're re-introducing Superman. You've rebooted him twice and everyone knows who he is, stop wasting people's time with intros and school buses.

Okay, I'm done.

Two trailers and I'm still flaccid, so I don't know about that. And I'm a fan of this character and his villains.Movie doesn't come out for 6+ months. I think they're going the right way about it. Zod will be a heavier presence leading up to release.
JNH was the mastermind behind the Nolan Batman scores, as TDKR made painfully obvious.
The way Elfman's score slowly rises I imagine Batman slowly coming out of a dark alleyway, sneaking around or watching the streets below and so on. It just 'feels' like the character. The only reason I associate Zimmer's score with Batman is because the movies were really good and hugely successful.
I think because Batman is brooding, introspective, thoughtful world's greatest detective etc. the score should be a slow, dark, careful build up. With Zimmer it's DUN DUN in your FUCKING face BITCH gonna PUNCH you while i ROLL UP ON MY MOTOR BIKE. Like it's fun but I don't feel Batman. Elfman got Spiderman perfect too imo.
I know Zod will be featured more, I said I think he should have been featured from the start. All the energy put into, again, the origins and Superman flying in the sky by himself is just yawn-inducing, because I've seen it enough. And so have most people.

My hope is that they make a much bigger deal about his first time flying. I've always imagined that the moment he begins to float off the ground as the moment he ascends into this status of being a god among men. I would love to see that built into a defining scene for the character.
Its absolutely fucking hilarious that the best "holy shit Clark flew!" moment is from Smallville.
Fucking Smallville!
Yeah and that Smallville scene sucks noodles lol.
Really embarrassing.

embarassing as it may be it was probably one of the best, most superman-like scenes of the show.

lol where is this from?
I wouldn't go that far. That actual scene is him out of character, too- he's been reprogrammed by Jor El or something.
Hello McFly

I believe that moment is in the trailer.
Perhaps Snyder will finally learn how to tell a story
dat crummy CG

CG fire and most explosions suck ass.

If that is literally the first inclination we get that he can fly, then that isn't the kind of moment I'm talking about.
You think that's bad...that's Smallville at its best. Here's something really embarassing:
