This thread is for stupid GAMING questions that don't deserve their own thread

I'm looking for something easy and fast that I can check every week to see what's popped up on the 3DS/WiiU eShop and PSN. I don't want reviews or massive lists of everything ever; just a simple "here's what's out this week".

Does something like this exist or am I just bad at using Google?

For PSN, the Playstation Blogs do a weekly update on what's new:
US

EU

(edit: Bonus points if it's got an RSS feed)

This thread has Nintendo download updates: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=501908

The 3DS XL uses the same power supply as the 3DS, right?

Also, does the dock charger for the Nintendo Wii U fit on a 3DS XL? Looks similar size.

So I've noticed this liquid (oil?) coming from under the analog sticks on my ps3 controller. Is this normal? The controller works fine otherwise.

Do you guys know of any place where I could find a Dualshock 2 for cheap? Don't feel like paying $34.49 for a 10 year old controller -_-

My PS3's disc drive isn't working anymore. I'm thinking about buying a PS3 super slim and using my PSN on it. I'm planning to keep my other PS3 to play PSN games, rent movies off PSN, and play PS One games. Is it possible to share content across both PS3? By that I mean can I have all my downloadable games on both consoles at the same time?

Shouldn't be a problem, unless you have activated your account on two PS3s already (I think they limited the number of activations from 5 and down to 2).

Yes. You may have content activated on two separate consoles at once.

Yes, you can share your PSN account on two PS3's and two handhelds (PSV/PSP)

Yay! Thanks for the fast responses. I can't wait to finally play Bayonetta. Shitty port be dammed! :)

Persona PSP question:

I'm maybe halfway through
Deva Yaga
having just
come back through the portal from the other world/dimension/my own theory as for what it was which we don't need to go into
. About how much more game do I have left?

Anyone have any experience with NES controller to USB adapters, or with the USB NES controller knockoffs on Amazon? Each costs roughly the same amount. The knockoffs ship Prime, which is attractive, but some of the reviews say they're either total junk or don't work properly (diagonal directions don't work?).

Why is the DOTA2 thread still in Gaming while the LoL/Awesomenauts/HoN threads go to community? I'm pretty sure Awesomenauts needs more exposure than DOTA2.

Can't speak to NES adapters, but I've got one for SNES that works flawlessly. I also had a SNES knockoff controller that came with it and it was awful. Stick to the real thing if possible.

Are there really no Video Game Trivia Board Games out there? I'd kill for a Trivia Pursuit: Vgame Edition or a Scene It one... this subject is literally the thing I know most about in my life, I'd love to test it w/ friends ect.

I've found one; For Teh Win. But it seems like just an idea and not an actual game you can buy... sad...

They have Glee, Twilight and Sony Animation Scene It. But NO vgame ones!? WHY!

It's not quite what you're asking for, but UK Serious Game Show "Mastermind" had a contender with a specialist subject of "The History of Video Games". I don't see it on Youtube (no great surprise), but a bit of searching suggests that it was screened on 6th October 2003. I do wonder if some of the UK-focussed sites may have it.

The problem with video games as a subject in general is that it's hugely expansive, and in many cases regional; while it's fairly homogenised these days, questions from the 80s and early 90s would have to be tailored specifically to any area such a game was released in.

One thing I do recall from the 80's in boardgames is that a lot of companies would release boxes of question cards which just *happened* to coincide with the Trivial Pursuit colour scheme (but with subjects more suited to a specific specialty); that's probably an easier way for a random company to get into this sort of thing, it's much cheaper than producing a full boxed game.

I bought some Move Controllers for Johann Sebastian Joust, since that just got Kickstarter and there will be an alpha out soon. Are there any Move games actually worth playing that I should get a Playstation Eye camera for? It seems there are some bundles out there get you a game, a camera, and another Move controller (which I still need a few more of). Any of those good?

Also, what kind of charging cable do Move controllers us? Just Micro USB like the normal PS3 controller? Dunno if the used ones I bought will come with that.

The Move controllers use micro USB cables like the DS3. As for games worth getting a camera for, you need a camera to use the Move controllers anyway. Personally I could never get it to work properly, but inFamous 2 supposedly controls very well with the Move.

Well I currently only have the Move controllers for Joust, which doesn't need the camera (and only runs off a Mac computer currently).

I figured I might as well see if there are games that would make picking up a camera worth it to get some extra value from them. I'm really more interested in stuff that you need the controllers for instead of playing normal games with pointer controls (like Killzone et al).

Oh, well. No, I can't really think of anything worthwhile then. Maybe Sorcery if you're into that.

On one my PS2 controllers, both the L1 and L2 buttons stopped working suddenly yesterday. After plugging in my spare controller, I discovered that the triggers and every face button except X and square don't work.

How can I fix them?

Take it apart and clean the contacts? Use a q tip and some rubbing alcohol.

Does anyone know how to get Dungeon Keeper 2 to run in windowed mode on Windows 8 (possibly applies to Win7 too)?

I bought it from GOG but activating the windowed option in the registry doesn't seem to work. When set to 1, DKII-DX.exe and DKII.exe both crash immediately on launch. DKII-SOFT.exe does launch and is windowed, but it's slow and mouse movement is very laggy.

With windowed set to 0, DKII-DX.exe and DKII.exe work, but they're fullscreen. Speed and mouse lag is also fixed, so basically I need to try and get one of those (rather than DKII-SOFT) working in windowed mode.

I tried DXWnd, but either I didn't configure it properly or it doesn't work on DK2. Is there anything else I can try?

Just purchased Persona 3: FES on PSN but it came to my attention there is a save file bug or something? Was it fixed already? If not, what is the bug and how do I avoid it?

What's the best way to keep track of Nintendo eShop sales? (Not very often I assume)
Probably just checking out the Nintendo Downloads thread on GAF. NoA sometimes sends out emails if you're on their lost.

Whens my Phantom Dust 2 going to be made? : (
:(

Tumble!

Great party game with Move :)

Because DOTA2 is better than every one of those games.

When do Steam holiday sales start? I need to spend money on games I will never play.

Has anyone tried the broadcast option in Origin? I can't get it to work with any games at all, whether it's an Origin title or not. I've tried Fifa 13, NFS:MW, BF3 and Diablo 3.

The game will run just fine until I click start broadcast. At that point it just closes the game. No error message, not even in the Event Viewer.

Any ideas?

How do you buy Blue Toad Murder Files these days? I've got Episode 1 (&2?) downloaded and 3 when it was given away free some time ago, but the PSN store doesn't seem to show me links to purchase any other episodes for it.

I feel like in video games you always see dumpsters in an alley sideways up against the wall of the building. Does this happen in real life? How does the garbagetruck get it out of there?
