I went with the solid black (grey?). I'm more into clean, professional, black, (boring) looks. Unfortunately, I've come to love really simple, boring, clean looks due to the area of study that I'm in and the field I want to work in (management).

EDIT: Also because I bought a cheap, albeit solid, smoke case for my Galaxy S and didn't like it. I'm not a fan of translucent rims that go around the screen.

Hard to say at this point. Some people's CC's are being charged, looks like some might actually be going out to people with up to 1-2 weeks shipping estimate. Mine went to pre-order showing Dec.12 now so I'm hoping that means I'll see a CC transaction in the next while. Either IT'S HAPPENING! or I'M SO ANGRY I'M NOT GETTING IT UNTIL FEBRUARY!

So he said that the orders that have switched to "pre-order" status are about to be shipped and are awaiting tracking numbers. He said once the tracking number is assigned the status will change to "completed." So that's what the deal is I guess, if we are to believe that he really knows what he's talking about. Frankly after all this I don't trust Google and I don't believe him!

What's sad is the tech sites have done nothing to make it known. Outside of a few throwaway articles and comments, there has been nothing to call Google out on this.

You'd think Google botching the launch of their flagship phone device would garner some interest.

I'm not a fan of phone cases at all. I think the last time I had a phone case was the Nexus One with the included pouch. I'm only getting a bumper because everyone here says the N4 is slippery as all get out. I didn't have an issue with my iPhone 4 but we'll see with the N4.
 
Oof...mom asked for a Galaxy Note II for her Birthday. Essentially the same price as a Nexus 4 on contract.

Oh well, mama gets what mama wants.

I'm not a phone case/bumper guy either but this sucker is slippery man. I'm getting the black Diztronic one for now until the Google bumper is restocked.
 
This is pathetic. Given a "delivered in 3-5 business days" quote. It is now 7 business days and 9 days since I ordered without a single peep from Google.

CSR know even less than users and every e-mail or phone call gets a different answer. These mythical shipping specialists are useless and just give the "Nexus 4 is sold out and orders will be shipped as they are received" (which everyone already knows is a load of crap).

Blame the holiday season for that, not Google.

I bought mine from Ebay. Looks like the guy has raised the prices slightly, though. You can pick them up on Amazon or buychina.com, too.

I bought the HTC One X sized pouch which is a perfect fit. I think you'd need to get a bigger one if you wanted to use it with a bumper.
 
When will we get a case that respects the curved edges of the screen?

Also,somehow picked up two scratches on my screen this week. Never scratched the screen on a phone before... At least they aren't visible during use. Still irritating though.

I got a hairline scratch near my camera on the back. How it got there is beyond me. Ugh >:(
 
My case came! It's dark red "leather" slip case, with a little pulley and a magnetic catch at the front. Stylish and simple.

No phone still though. Ill post a pic of them together

they can't figure out a way to put 'Apple' or 'iPhone' in the headline, so they ignore it.
 
Just checked my status and it's "pre- ordered". I checked my credit card and conveniently the price of the Nexus has been subtracted from my available credit. Good sign I guess? Unless Google is doing the authorization thing again.
 
Using CM10.1 nightly and my battery life is waaaaaay better than it used to be on Matr1x and stock 4.2.1. I'm liking it a lot. The only problem I've ran into is that ChompSMS crashes when trying to attach anything, but that might be a problem with ChompSMS itself since I tried Messaging and I have no problems.

Sitting at 11 percent with 15 hrs of use, 2.5 hrs of screen time. I've seen people with better results, but this is stellar for me.

Also, got a tiny scratch on my screen :-/. My bumper should be here by Friday.
 
This is my first full day on 4.2.1.

I'm currently at 19% battery life, 17 hours on battery, 3 hours and 20 mins on screen.

Is this average?

That is around what I am getting. Actually seems a bit better. I had 17hrs and 35min with 3% left. This sure is better battery life than I was getting compared to the galaxy nexus.
 
Just been posted on another forum that google are now saying if your order has changed to pre-ordered its going to be at least 3 weeks....

Fucking astounding.
 
After tax and shipping the 16GB comes to almost $400.
I think I might wait another generation unless my phone continues to get more wonky.
