Restrictions on the amount of guns that are registered need to be limited. That's the only way to get this gun situation remotely under control.

But these things are always happening in places that seem safe. It's scary how commonplace mass shootings have become.

I actually agree with you, and that was tactless of me to say. Just a bit caught up with the announcement thirty seconds prior that he'd not killed just one person, but 27 people, many of which were children. I've actually been browsing some interesting journal studies on gun crime and methods/effects of control over the last two hours since this was posted on GAF.

Completely understandable reaction, of course. I just think that every effort should be made to capture the perpetrators of these events alive so they can be interrogated and studied. This has become a common enough occurrence that it's time to stare long and hard into that abyss until we understand what turns a person into this. Banning guns is not the answer. Effectively preventing potential nutbars from obtaining guns is.
