I'm fairly new to comics in general. I got most of my comic book knowledge from the animated series, movies, etc. I generally do research, but I haven't read that many older comics and, frankly, the new 52 doesn't impress me that much as a whole. I've read Batman, Detective comics, Batman and Robin, Batgirl, Batman the Dark Knight, Action Comics, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, World's Finest, Talon, a little of Teen Titans, Red Hood, Nightwing, Superboy, Demon Knights, Supergirl, and some of Morrison's current Batman Inc.
Of all those, I really feel only Snyder's Batman is exceptional. Talon is shaping up to be good as well, but it hasn't completed it's first story arc, so I'm waiting to see where it goes. Even if I enjoy Gail Simone's current Batman issues, I don't think a few issues is enough to make an accurate judgement call on a writer's talents.
