Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

is there a official website where the hackers announce it?

The first link is usually one of the go-to sources for PS Vita hacks on the internet. If they say it's Game X, it very likely is Game X. I can understand your concern because you may not want to shell out money to a game that doesn't have an exploit, but it seems just based on responses there that the game is in fact UNO PSP.

Well, I got it and Downloaded it. REALLY hope its true.
It's true. I was sent the ninja release information because I'm a member of the forum.

Hmm, at this point I feel like waiting for native vita hacks, Plus seems to do it for me so that I don't have to crave for more content and for the rest there's the Go I still have

Lol the wording of that post. So serious. They act like they're guarding the key to Fort Knox. Do they honestly think that no one at Sony is monitoring/have accounts on that site and other sites in the ps3/vita homebrew scene for information like this? The second its posted to members someone at Sony has got word and the process to verify and remove the exploited game from the store is probably already underway. Just ridiculous. Make the name public and splatter it all over the net to reach as many people as possible. Nothing written on the internet stays private. It'd be nice if it did but it doesn't ever work that way. They could go about this in a much better way I think.

If there's anything to know about the PSP/Vita hacking groups, it's that they're all a bunch of self-serious man children.

I couldn't give two fucks about their nonsense "Ninja Release" strategy and I don't know why that entire forum (and some people here) take it so seriously. For those who miss the latest exploits before the games are patched, I'll keep you in the loop for the next one.

PSP exploits are getting old, though. After seeing how well the newer Android phones run N64 and Dreamcast games, I'm ready for the next step - native Vita kernel access.

Where is the cheapest I can get a $10 PSN card - Assuming Amazon should be the best bet at like $11. The PSN Store is not accepting my Australian CC on the US Store (Expected this).

Now I need to hit up Gamestop to find a cheap used copy of BBS. Anyone have any recommendations for other good PSP titles not on PSN? My brother is home for the holidays with his PSP so I should take advantage of it while I can.

Metal Gear: AC!D 1/2 are totally worth playing. Why Konami doesn't have those (but the far inferior Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops/+) on the PSN store, I'll never know.

I doubt you'll be charged sales tax unless you're charged that in AU since it's digital so Amazon should be fine. But Best Buy is the only local retailer I know that sells $10 PSN cards in the wild in the US, so try there online.

What can I get from hacking my vita?

Emulators, PSX titles not on the PSN store (sup, Einhander and numerous other titles in other regions but not the US/EU's?), PSP titles not on the regional PSN store (sup, Metal Gear: AC!D 1/2?).

You lose: PSN access. So no syncing trophies, no friends lists, no "activities," no "Near" you also lose a PSN access slot since the DRM is required to run this at the moment.

I'm on 2.02 should i buy Uno?

Honestly, unless you're either interested in PSP era homebrew or have a PSP with CFW and you're interested in playing PSP games on your Vita that aren't on PSN (Basically being able to rip the IMDs yourself) I wouldn't bother.

I figured it would be worth it so I could finally play BBS and a handful of other PSP games that aren't up for purchase on PSN. My PSP broke years ago and I just never got around to buying a new one and have since either sold what UMDs I had, or gave them to my brother.

Since I've got a PS3, I won't miss out on any Plus content for Vita and I've got enough of a backlog already (14 PSP games off PSN, 6 Vita games + Plus games for Vita) to not worry about upgrading to the next firmware right away.

Is native vita access going to happen though since it hasn't yet? Has there even been any progress?
There's a rumor with picture evidence that one of the known vita hackers is working on / found a native vita exploit but nothing really concrete has been said about it.

I've used pcgamesupply.com successfully to clear out my Paypal account to get some PSN points. Downside is, first time customers have to verify identity either by receiving a code through text message or phone call and there is a 'activation' charge for the cards.

Think it's like a $2.99 charge for $10 cards. Since I couldn't find any other place that let me use paypal to get codes digitally I just dealt with it. However, of the two orders I placed I got them both within 45 seconds or so (The first took longer due to the verification, but it was still less than 3 minutes). They basically give you a scanned image of a PSN card in your order history with the code visible.

Haven't had any problems, and if you don't mind the fee they're quick.

Actually, just got back from Gamestop and snagged used copies of BBS, Star Ocean 1/2, Final Fantasy 1/2, and Metal Gear Acid 1/2. Yay for Giftcards and a Buy 2 Used Get 1 Free coupon I had. Thanks for all the suggestions folks!

Thanks mate. Just brought it from there :) Now got to wait for the code :)

Let me guess: EU UNO wouldn't work and or having the latest vita FW fucks this up?

EU Uno should work fine, judging from the shot Leona posted they'll have files for the EU, US and JP versions of Uno. Don't know if they'll all be ready at once, or if people will have to wait for their respective versions to be posted.

If I already got Monster Hunter 2 and old firmware I don't need to do anything right?

Right. You can wait for the ports for the exploit, but you may be waiting a little bit

Grabbed UNO is it safe to update to 2.02?

Yes, there's only software updates and they didn't remove the exploit if Wololo is to be believed.

But if you're truly paranoid, don't update. Save yourself the hassle of worrying and airplane mode that shit right now and don't look back.

Good job, now Sony can remove the game from the store.

Except, you know, for the whole fact that someone posted the name of the exploited game on Sony's own forums 2 days ago. So, it's not as if it being mentioned here now when its been all over the playstation community and other forums for over a day already will make much difference.

UNO is only 100 Yen for either version on Japan's store.

I had an extra 100 Yen on my JPN PSN account, so I put my spare Vita on that account and got it.

Sorry if this is well known or something, but is there any special process you have to do when getting UNO?

Just buy and install regularly or via a different method?

Just buy and install it currently. Then get the exploit and put that in the save folder later.

Anybody able to get Open CMA 5.0 to work? I attempted on XP SP2 and Vista without any luck. Originally it kept asking for an internet connection. I reinstalled it and now my PC doesn't connect to my Vita.

What Vita firmware are you on? You probably need the older version, 5.0 only works on firmware 2.0 and later.
