Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

I hate that Lumines takes so long to play. I know you can go for the timed or themed modes, but all the high score jostling on my friends list is on Voyage, and taking 90 minutes plus to just attempt a challenge is time I can't spare.
 
It's even worse for me as when I head back for Spring semester I'm leaving my PS3 with my family to use so no Tokyo Jungle until I visit home again :(

Gonna be playing TJ exclusively through remote play while I'm here though. People joke about WiiU "solving" the not-enough-TVs problem but that's a legit concern at my home haha.
 
Hey VitaGAF, this seems the best place to ask: I just got AC3 for PS3, and connected it up to the Vita game for the bonus goodies. I got the confirmation message and everything, but can't find anything in Liberation itself. I woulda guessed I wasn't far enough in the game to unlock it, but I've already completed it :P Any guesses? It's mostly the extra mission I'm after.
 
Hey guys, dumb question.

I'm browsing the wallpaper thread from the vita browser. How exacly do you save the picture into the vita. I checked every option and buttons and none of them give me the copy option.

However I feel Flower would be a good fit on the Vita with the gyroscope movements.

That's so much bullshit.

You just said the solution: Darker room, Headphones. The only difference is the size of the screen, which don't really makes a difference to some people (I know it doesn't for me, never made me appreciate a game better or worse, same bullshit with framerate, 60FPS don't make me appreciate a game better or worse than a 30FPS game).

not quite into EDF.. and I don't know what ppl see in it... graphics are quite ugly and looks like an average game...
won't pay even 10€ for it...
what I'm missing?
 
So is it possible to buy Monster Hunter Portable 3rd on a US Vita? I'm kinda tempted, it seems like the kind of game that wouldn't be too hard to play in Japanese.

It's basically a gaming equivalent of the kind of "looks crap but is actually fun" B movies. I mean, it has you fighting huge armies of giant insects & UFOs & shit. In coop. With all kinds weaponry. And it's challenging. It's simple but I'd rather play Earth Defense Force over most other shooters any day of the week (EDF >>>>>> Call of Duty and, imho, is more fun as a shooter than even Uncharteds). It's not too serious, but it's really fun & exciting when you have an armada of enemies around you.
 
I don't know how I got sucked into playing Golden Abyss again to get those trophies/items to power up my Fight For Fortune cards. I'm only doing it because Fight for Fortune is fun but I feel like I'm being punished for liking it when there is this retarded time sink that I have to get through and pay them $1 (treasure maps) to make the chore a little more bearable.

How annoying is uncharted to get all the bounties?

I have the Japanese retail card but a UK PSN account so I can't earn any trophies. I've played through the story once and I'm wondering whether to download the UK PS+ version and do it again with trophies

As far as I know it's all random, and I think there's some you can't get unless you trade with people via near. So it can get really annoying if your luck's bad.
 
I can't wait for EDF but does anybody know what the price will be in Europe? As it's a download only title I'm wondering if that will be reflected in the price ala Tokyo Jungle.

Hmm not sure about that part, unless you're only playing solitaire..

Also getting the Fan Damacys takes ages. And yep too expensive..managed to get about 4 DLC levels with in-game collecting but couldn't get any further although I haven't played it in a while but yeah it was basically stuck/giving out so few that it wasn't worth going for them.

Well, it's not annoying as much as it is just boring when you might have to repeat some parts of the game a million times.

I think I've read something about a patch making it a bit more bearable (that is, enemies drop bounties more often). I actually didn't have too much trouble getting the coins & gems (I got them during two playthroughs (Normal & Crushing) + while collecting all the treasures I hadn't found by then). For some reason one of the Card-type bounties took me, like, 30 times of repeat plays of one part in one chapter (there was a part where I could kill maybe 10-12 enemies quite quickly with a sniper rifle -> kill myself -> do it again). The enemies simply didn't drop them that often.

Btw, why can't you get any trophies with the Japanese retail card? I have DJ MAX Technika Tune from Japan & I can get trophies just fine...


Also, Derrick, there are no bounties that can't be achieved alone (at least not anymore, maybe there was before the patch?)
 
Are we allowed to ask Vita questions here? I just bought one from a guy on craigslist. Really nice hardware so far. However, I cannot seem to connect to my PSN account. I keep getting errors logging in even though the username and pass is fine. My PS3 can log into the account just fine, but the Vita refuses to connect. Wifi is working properly. Any ideas?

Is the previous owners account still connected in someway? Have you set it up from the very beginning? I.E Have you gone through the initial, as if fresh out of the box, set up?

It could also be that you have too many consoles registered to your account?

You make it sound pretty cool. I tried it on the 360 once and didn't dig it, but I played solo and didn't know anything about the series or what to expect at the time. I think going in with the right mindset would help me enjoy it more.

News to me, but it was like 3am when I registered mine. Maybe I don't recall correctly.

I believe your suppose use a temporary one first, then you be able to log in.
 
Yes, I went through the initial setup. I only have one console tied to my PSN account and that's it. No other devices.

Edit: The error is error nw-8942-3

In that case it could be that PSN is just not working properly as people above have also complained about not being able to access the store.

If it's just your account that can't register but it is connected to the internet ok then it's probably just a problem on Sony's end and not yours.

Yeah, the Vita connects to the internet just fine. I updated the system to the latest firmware and everything. I just cant log into my PSN account.
 
My Vita isn't connecting to the store now that I've actually checked. I'm pretty sure my PS3 is connected fine as I'm downloading my PS+ games.

Edit: UK Vita here so perhaps it's a worldwide issue.
