Sadly, no. But you can still raise their support levels to near max. (You can do this for all the eligible supports for each character, short of multiple marriages.)Wait, can guys date guys in this FE?
> : /Sadly, no. But you can still raise their support levels to near max. (You can with any combination of characters.)
But only male x female pairing can get married and have kids. :/
Well, the guy who tells you the relationship status in the Japanese version sometimes blatantly says that certain male characters love each other.> : /
GODDAMIT.
But, eh, that's better than nothing I guess :C
What on Earth did they do to my handsome Ike?
Sadly, no. But you can still raise their support levels to near max. (You can with any combination of characters.)

I think genetics is suppose to be play an important part in it, harkening back to Genealogy of the Holy WarCan't they just adopt, or like, impregnate another random female character?
I like Erika's job and design, do you concur?Hey, I actually like most of the designs, including Ike.
I've heard people talking about how they don't like it ever since the game was shown.
I really like Catria personally, but I agree that most of the DLC art is pretty weird because it doesn't clash well with the game's style.![]()
The alternative would have been monotony, and that's certainly the least attractive proposition between the two if you ask me.
The alternative wouldn't have been that bad. Awakening has a brand new art style that's a sizable departure from previous Fire Emblem games. Seeing those old characters rendered in that style (by the same artist) would be cool as well.
I hope Ike is a playable character, DLC perhaps? I have it paid in full now at GS, hope I get dat artbook.
There is no light magic, and no light mages in this game. So, Micaiah had to be redesigned as a dark mage. And that is the dark mage outfit, unfortunately. I don't know why she couldn't have been a regular mage instead, or a healer, but then I guess she would've had a pointy witch hat or a horse or would wield axes.
Wait you can have support with any characters or are you talking abiut MU?Sadly, no. But you can still raise their support levels to near max. (You can with any combination of characters.)

Characters who are not the Avatar still have their sets of other characters who they can support with. The Avatar can in fact support with every single character from the story of the game.
What's not typical in this game is that there is no long an arbitrary number that says any character can only support a specific number of times with others. Everyone can get an A rank with who they're able to support with.
Ahh
not sure how I feel about the last part. Is the support bonus three spaces or just one?
I'm pretty sure that they made it so that support bonuses only apply for Dual and Pair Up (Double) scenarios, meaning that the characters receive bonuses only if they're a space away or are occupying the same space.
Senri Kita drew Marth.

Yeah, sorry. I should of worded that better.Characters who are not the Avatar still have their sets of other characters who they can support with. The Avatar can in fact support with every single character from the story of the game.

One of the best character designs I've seen in a long time. <3
I know why they focus on heterosexual relationships due to the children, but they definitely should of included homosexual relationships as well. For the most part, you have control over which pairings are made, and how many children you get, so they could of easily explored other relationship options that didn't produce children. (Or alternatively, introduced a surrogate system/explanation for same sex pairings.)The whole point of the marriages in the game is to have kids so I don't have a problem with that. What they could have done was give us at least same sex relationships that has nothing to do with marriage as supports, but I understand why they didn't either.
What's up with Chrom's outfit.
Forget Chrom, Lissa. Trainwreck of character design with that outfit.
Get. Out.
Don't you talk about my wife like that you MONSTER! T_T
Shipping wars with the player avatar as one of the ships? What could possibly go wrong?i guess this is the level of discourse we should expect in the OT
Actually, I'm curious to how this will all work out. Does the game have support conversations like PoR did? If so, does that work with the Avatar, too?
And the double battle thing. Pair a mage with someone who can take a hit. That seems... powerful. Will the melee guy always take the hit or can the AI pick which part of the pair occupying the same square to attack?
Does this take place in the same world as another Fire Emblem?
Yes and yes.
So if a Knight is standing next to a Mage and they support, there's a chance the Knight will step in front of the Mage when an enemy attacks it? That's kind of useful. Although it could be bad if it happened the other way around... Unless it's another mage attacking. I hope the game is smart about this and doesn't turn a No Damage attack into a dead mage because he was standing nearby. You only use one unit to initiate a battle at a time. This unit who initiates or is being initiated is the main unit, with the second unit being the supporting one who is either adjacent to or occupying the same space as the main unit. The Dual system has it so that the ability for the supporting unit to aid the main unit by attacking (Dual Attack) or defending (Dual Guard) is something that happens randomly according to particular mathematical formulas. You could have two of your units together in battle, but whether or not the supporting unit will actually do anything is dependent on pure chance.

I do wonder if there's no limit to the amount of supports you can have, will there be enough missions to max it out? Or is it like Sacred Stones with skirmish maps mixed in?

But what I really was thinking about was on the Enemy Phase. Let's just say I have Chrom and Lissa in the same square and an enemy moves to attack that square. Will the enemy have a choice between attacking Chrom or Lissa, or can I make it so it'll have to target Chrom?
Has NoA talked about how the DLC is going to be handled?
@OP: Emmeryn's profile has been up on Facebook for a while now. Should update it.
Extra maps (skirmishes, SpotPass, StreetPass, and DLC) are infinite or infinitely replayable and can be accessed to gain additional supports.
When Dual Guard activates, the supporting unit completely negates all damage from the attacking opponent, regardless of characteristics. This leads to some interesting situations such as a Pegasus Knight Dual Defending against an Archer and literally takes 0 damage.
When you have two units occupying the same square, they are united because of the Pair Up mechanic, which is a modified form of rescuing that dictates that the supporting unit (the one you aren't directly controlling) might aid the main unit (the one you are) in battle sometimes. If an enemy targets a Paired Up group, they are always attacking the main unit, and the supporting unit is never, ever harmed. You can indeed switch between the main and supporting units with their roles if they are Paired Up, but only via a command during the Player Phase (doing so doesn't take up a turn).
All of this sounds pretty awesome. So if you have a new unit that's a little too low level to be useful, you can have a strong unit Pair Up with it and go on a rampage to get the low level unit some EXP at no risk? That's... powerful. What's the catch? Can you use the secondary unit to heal the primary one if it's a Staff user? That'd give a new meaning to "pocket medic". But i imagine that would put the healer as primary and thus the one who'll get attacked.
I'm surprised that Dual Guard negates damage completely. I'm used to Fire Emblem being a bit more... brutal about things. Not complaining, mind you. Just surprised at seeing mercy from Fire Emblem.
Although I'm getting a little suspicious. If the game gives the player all of these advantages and benefits, then what are the enemies going to have? Do we get all of thee goodies because we'll need them?
The interpretation is just PoR Ike. The chosen artist's style just doesn't match up well with Ike.
Now Micaiah, that's the abomination. Granted the artist was severely handicapped by the already crappy Dark Mage outfit, but still!
That and whoever decided Eirika should be a healer/priest or whatever. The drawing is fine, only she is supposed to be a swordfighter!
The DLC is going to be on the cart regardless. What if something magical happens and have the DLC already built in?
Her class is "Bride."Wominz are da healers lol
