Oh and...

Oh it'll be on-disc DLC. ill bet you 10 dollars.

Edit: oh. Well kinda beaten. I bet it comes as DLC in some form though. Probably paid bundled with something else.

I was thinking the other day that recent DmC threads have been fairly positive.

We were due a shitstorm thread.

This is like another case of the Tomb Raider interviews. Someone just needs to step in and say "don't say another word".

Hey capcom, maybe if your games fucking teach people how to do those awesome things the "pro" players do, you wouldnt have to dumb down your shit.

Take SFxT for example. What a bullshit "training mode". It doesn't teach you shit like baiting, footsies, punishing whiffs, or ANYTHING that makes you better. So, instead of fixing that and designing a game that tells people ALL THE UNDERLYING rules and meta games, they dumb it down and add shit like gems.

And now it's happening with DMC. Holy hell.

The DmC demo was actually data mined and there were some files related to DLC in it particularly Vergil's moveset.

I guess we will find out when the game ships if there is some DLC on the disc. Right now we can't say for sure.

Is it Capcom or Ninja Theory at fault? All previous games from Ninja Theory seem to have a bad case of style over substance. They make pretty games but I've never seen glowing praise towards their combat mechanics, unlike what Platinum, Team Ninja, or Capcom themselves have had in the past.

The quote from the title sounds really delusional. Most developers apparently still don't know which direction to take to make a good game. Instead, chasing demographics, delusional grand schemes about interactive movies, etc.

Giant LOL at the enemyintrosequence folder. Must be full of pictures of NT employees falling asleep and farting or something.

I expect a similar disregard for reality when it comes to the Lost Planet 3 PR. It's genuinely entertaining stuff.

These people are fucking ridiculous. Ninja Theory needs to fail massively and fold up shop. Period. Full stop.

Did I miss something or are NT just assuming that the magazine didn't play the game and reviewed it? I thought the Italian magazine that gave it a 7.5 backed up their score with reasoning. Just because it was harsher than others shouldn't have anything to do with legitimacy.

I think they would know more then any of us just on forums who received a review and who didn't

Street Fighter X tekken ruined a crossover with the gem system.

It could have been good if it did not try to make it more accessible.

Game director Hideaki Itsuno of Capcom insists that this commercially necessary shift hasn't cost the game its vertiginous top layer of skill. "As the series has gone we've seen new users die out, as it took longer to get into it. When it came time to make DMC 4, with the new hero and new moves, new techniques and skills, not many new fans entered the series.

It's sad that they're making Itsuno lie to promote this game. Lots of people started with DMC4, including me!

I don't know when it was that they got so cocky. They seemed humble during the development of Heavenly Sword, and their games have only disappointed their publishers in sales. Yet here they are, somehow blessed with another opportunity and acting like gods.

And where the fuck did the nickname Tameem "Pioneer" Antoniades come from? I almost died laughing when I first saw that.

Yknow what depresses me? As bad as all this shit is, and as hard as I've been hating on this game since day 1, it'll still most likely be a pretty solid action game, which is better than can be said about 90% of them. Maybe they'll fix it for the next game?

I'm dead inside

Not at all. Combat mechanics alone DMC is almost unrivaled by the majority of action games out in the market. NT already had the blueprint that they could borrow from DMC3/4. Plus Capcom supervised the development, so it's really hard to mess up on being a solid action game

I actually started with Bayonetta then bought Devil May Cry 4 because of Bayonetta.

NT should make the next MvC I mean I press a and all I do is hit them up and I jump and press A again and they go back down. How do I keep them up in the air? To hard to master. Lower the bar.

Experiment of course. . . . Gaming is dying. . . .

Yeah, I still can't believe Rising is out like a month later. I've had this funny mental image regarding DmC and Rising as of late. You know how during the holidays extended family usually gets together at someone's house to celebrate? Well, if you've got nieces/nephews/grandchildren/cousins/family friends/whatever that come over, usually the younger crowd/teenagers chill out in the wreck room (or kids room) downstairs while the adults do their thing in the living/dining rooms.

Well, DmC is the kind of game that would be sitting on the floor, disk out of the case, data side facing down on the carpet. All the younger cousins/family friends would crowd around an outdated TV that was put in the wreck room for when people come over to play games and pass the time. One kid would noticed DmC on the floor and be like, "Yo, isn't that the game where they say shit and fuck all the time!? How did you let your parents buy you this john piece, dawg?" The one kid who lives there just crosses his arms, gives off a smirk, and says, "I've got my ways. Pop it in, yo". Then they proceed to think they are really cool, especially in front of the much younger, dorkier cousin who thought they could use the TV for Skylanders.

Meanwhile, the adults are upstairs enjoying sweet ice teas and perhaps fine wines while they bust out Metal Gear Rising on their new HD TV they bought during Black Friday at Best Buy. Upstairs, the more sophisticated adults are respectfully playing Rising and discussing Platinum's success. Downstairs, the youngins are cursing up a storm, demon dodging SSS ranking that shit, making that Skylander's kid feel totally uncomfortable for bringing a baby game to the party. Little do they know that both of their games are for children, but to what degree? That's how I'll remember you, DmC.

Amazing post.

Sigh Capcom, forever clueless. Game is easy as piss with incredibly overpowered abilities available by default, Dahbomb's video clip sums up the hilarity and lack of challenge to the game's style system, and they've completely ignored supplying the veterans with the 'magic' of pro gaming in order to cater for casuals. Where's our fucking substance? Celebrating cos you give the vets enemy step and jump cancelling doesn't begin to cover the expectations.

I'm currently playing through Devil May Cry 3 HD as well so my opinion is far stronger of DmC at the moment due to the level of quality in DMC3's combat and play.

I don't doubt that DmC will be fun. I had fun with the demo. It simply won't be held to same high regard as DMC3/4, Bayonetta, NG, etc. where combat systems is concerned. DmC is better off being placed in the God of War school of 'cool'.
