Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

Some of these stories help make me glad I'm single. Hammer to the Vita, only playing at night. No thanks!

I do feel bad for you guys though. It has to suck.

edit: Though lately I've only been playing Vita at night due to my enormous all around backlog. But that's by choice!

So you prefer to be able to be gaming 24/7 ..? to having a family/house/etc..? (joking)..

I just value family time much more than gaming time.. when you have my kind of life you would too.

- Get up in the morning (early)
- Get the kids and yourself ready.
- Driving half hour to work.
- Work 10 Hours.
- Driving half hour back home.
- Eating dinner with the family.
- Spend some quality time with the kids before they go to bed. (that´s just under two hours)
- Get the house ready for the next day. (and myself)
- Spend some time with the wife (quality time)..
- Go to bed.

This only leaves nights and weekends for gaming. I also write reviews/articles..

But I love my life, and I have fun (most of the time).. Vita just adds a litle colour to my life. ;o)

I think she appreciates me being in the same room as her more than anything.

This applies to my marriage, too. My wife will NEVER be a gamer--Lord knows I do enough of it for the both of us--but she's totally supportive of it. I was wise to make my gaming habits known to her shortly after we started dating, so she knew what she was getting into (well, from that perspective, anyways...).

To counter I have to say there is a lot of advantages to having a wife and kids. I would gladly change my vita playtime for some time with my kids, but that is a topic for another forum. :)

To be on topic, I am a recent addition to the vita brotherhood and have been enjoying it quite a bit. Have been playing wipeout and gravity rush and as soon as I have a bigger card I will get uncharted from my PS+ subscription.

One big question : Is there are Vita bros list of PSN id's here on GAF that I can get to add friends? I don't think I have any friend on PSN.

Are you me? Well, take the work hours from 10 hours down to 9, then you are.

Yep, dev announced Retro City Rampage for EU PSN next week on the RCR Facebook page.

We better get it free (or heavily discounted) on PS+ too for the wait!

This is so clutch. :P I don't veg for 5+ hour marathon sessions anymore, but I just don't want to either. The only other hobby I have is scale modeling, which she doesn't care about either.

My wife plays Solitaire and one of those time management sims on our iPad, but that's the extent of it. She DOES enjoy playing Donkey Kong Country on SNES, though. She's not a gamer, but she has her moments.

Not having kids I think makes a pretty large difference, for the foreseeable future I won't have them (due to the obvious) but I know that kids, more than any relationship, take up the most time.

Longest run on sentence ever.

You know how making a long run on sentence is actually not that common in English, but very common in German at least, making some decisions quite difficult when considering how or when to split sentences while translating.

... I win!

But yeah, its one of the reasons me and my GF dont want children.

Makes sense as I've spent a good amount of time in Germany! :P

Yeah kids are nice but, I will admit I'm glad I don't have to worry about it lol

Thank you so much for the support guys :) Vita gaf has become a home away from home for me, especially during work hours (like now). I definitely did have a problem and things had to change, so it was pretty much games or her haha. I want to run a check on it and see if the screen really is fine, because I couldn't make a full evaluation last night during the argument. As long as it's fine (it seemed like it was) I'll be ok not touching it for however long it takes. After showing her I can dedicate time to her and moving forward, I can go back to my hobby again at some point (hopefully).

We'll be right here ready to pick up right where you left off when you return!

Hmmm.

Yeah.

They really can't be bothered to update the banner for the PSMobile store, can they?

I actually still like to veg for those "...5+ hour marathon sessions...", but my only means of doing this is by taking a vacation day when nobody else is home. For instance, Heavy Rain is one of my favorite PS3 games, but I was only able to truly enjoy it by spending an entire personal vacation day with it.

I'd love to have other hobbies, but that would require me to love gaming less AND have more free time ;-p

Nope, it's incredibly telling of how serious SONY is taking PSM. Too bad, because there's some real gaming gems on the service already (Rebel!!!).

Which other gems would you recommend? And whats Rebel about?
The only game on PSM I liked so far is Surge.

Wait so wake up club is out February?

Also I'm lucky in that I have a bf around my age who loves his games so most of our close time involves playing coop games or watching each other :p

Helps that I bought him a vita too xD

Hate to break the happiness but I have some bad news :(

Got into a huge fight with the wife, Vita is off limits until she thinks things are better. I'll still be posting here and following games but I had to prove to her that she means more to me than my games do. Fun fact - I took a hammer to my Vita about 5 times and it's still ok. Mind you, I didn't wail on it because of how painful it was to do that, but the glass wasn't hurt at all. I did have my Persona 4 screen protector on it.

Anyway, here's to a new year of self improvement, sadly less gaming but more productivity!

My wife gets angry at my Vita playing as well, though not with as much hammer on Vita violence. I go in cycles where I will play it a bunch, but getting to the end of growlanser IV and Persona 4 Golden definitely put a strain on.

Just make it a point to always find out about her day, play with any kids/dogs/cats, and offer to play card games and other interactive two person non-video game activities. I know relationship effort isn't just some score, but keeping the little things ever present helps stop the next time she asks you to take a hammer to electronics.

Is YouTube acting up for anyone else? I'm getting a shit-ton of errors and stuff today, saying it could not connect despite my computer being fine and the Vita having 2 or 3 connection bars :|

Tried resetting my router and stuff, no good

Of course, as soon as I post that, my computer's internet stops working as well. Weird

Hey guys is Haunt the House good? The concept and the graphics seems to be awesome!

Have you tried aqua kitty? Do not believe who say that super crate box is the best psm game, aqua kitty deserves that title.
You could try lemmings too(free).

This is how I feel. I want to have other hobbies, but I have so little free time these days I can really only game and feel satisfied. I also read and write sometimes but gaming is my main hobby. It's going to suck not having a Vita for however long it takes but I know games will always be there. The people in your life/family won't though. I just got to 15 platinums so I feel pretty accomplished in my trophy hunting to this point.

Sorry to hear that my friend :( I hope things turn around and family issues resolved so you can start playing your Vita again.

But no more hammering it!

Haunt the House is okay. You possess objects to scare people and build up a meter, and once the meter is full (or nearly full) you can kill certain NPCs with some objects. It looks nice and it's kinda funny.

I don't know how much replay value it has, though. It's under £3 too.
