AC3:Liberation's stats are oh so broken. Don't take any of them to mean anything.

And you should be able to turn off the HUD and tutorial pop-ups in the option menu.

Its all about balance isn't it...

Still, make sure she's fair!

True true, but it is my turn to right the balance and set my Vita aside for now~ I just want to make sure it's poor screen is ok :( One of the most painful things I've ever had to do haha.

I forgot to mention I still have my PS3 - not sure how she feels about me gaming on that at the moment. I have boatloads of digital games on it thanks to PS+.

Thanks man, every post you guys make is helping me through this haha. I just met up with her for lunch, when I said "I'll wait however long it takes" to which she said "Forever" ... lmao, considering it happened last night, I can understand her not coming around yet. The main thing is figuring out if the screen really is ok, then I can put it to rest - until further notice.

How much force did you hit it with?

You might not want to mention that you're checking the screen to make sure it's okay to her, though..

Hate to break the happiness but I have some bad news :(

Got into a huge fight with the wife, Vita is off limits until she thinks things are better. I'll still be posting here and following games but I had to prove to her that she means more to me than my games do. Fun fact - I took a hammer to my Vita about 5 times and it's still ok. Mind you, I didn't wail on it because of how painful it was to do that, but the glass wasn't hurt at all. I did have my Persona 4 screen protector on it.

Anyway, here's to a new year of self improvement, sadly less gaming but more productivity!

Divorce her.

Yay, called my local GameStop and they got Metal Gear Solid: HD Collection for $40 new and it might be a normal price to most of you but here in Denmark, that's a VERY fine price. Unfortunately I didn't get the review copy last year, so I'm gonna get it.

Also, I wrote you a PM LQX.

I hit it with a pretty solid hit about 5 times, but it wasn't like full force. It was so painful to do, so I think it was moreso the act of doing it more than anything else. I was shocked/relieved that it didn't physically affect the screen, when I quickly took it out of sleep mode it looked fine too, no discoloration or lines or anything. I wanted to do a double check though just to ease my worries, I am very attached to that thing - I am a vitabro after all.

Lol, it was weird being at a crossroad of sorts, making the final stance of Vita or wife. We've argued about it many times before (we even had a huge fight over Skyrim at one point), she knew I was into games when we first met, I guess right now it's just been rough with how tight our budget is.

Okay, so, question for all my Vitabros: how many of you bought Sonic & SEGA All-star Racing Transformed? If you're a true Vitabro, then there's only one real answer: "I did!"

I just got my copy today, and I'm absolutely blown away by it--looks like my copy of the PS3 version will now be collecting some serious dust. What a steal for $30!

Oh yes. Thee's quite of few of us, and I haven't see a single person on here say they didn't like it.

Someone was asking a few days ago but yes you could play your own music in Soul sacrifice. I did while playing a online game.

If I ever get round to unlocking the MP for that demo I need to do this.

My Vita is finally here! Yay, baseball on the go! And golf and Mortal Kombat...woooo hooo!

Sorry, excited!
Woot! Congrats!

Is all-star that good on Vita? I've been wanting a fighter just not sure which one? 15$ sounds great!!

It's amazing on Vita. I got about half the trophies and thoroughly enjoyed both offline and online play that I had with it. It's extremely fluid and literally 60fps, highly recommended on Vita.

Fellow Vita...ers...I have followed this thread (and the previous) for quite awhile, but haven't seen any impressions on:

-Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus (Unless I am the only person who never played either the 360 or PS3 version)
-Army Corps of Hell

Could someone who has played either of those let me know if they're worth picking up? Many thanks!

Also, for those on the fence about PBAS for Vita I will say it gets better the more you play it. At first I was not a fan of the game after playing Aracde and a few matches, but the game grew on me the more I played it, and I eventually platinum'd it (so much hate for the trophy to win and never die in a ranked match).

Or are you?
Maybe not kidding is the right idea? :P

UmC3 is A-MAZ-ING on the Vita. SFxT is also incredible, though, as a 6-button fighter, it's slightly gimped on the Vita.

You've got the right idea.
He should get a real fighter, not a party fighter. (Are you happy, VanWinkle? :P)

Nobody's really talked about Army Corps of Hell yet...
People talk about NGS+ occasionally. Some people love it, some people don't. Depends on how sensitive you are to framerate drops.

Thanks It looks like I found someone on the Buy/Sell thread who is selling it for $15.
Also best of luck with the wife. I had to make a similar decision a long time ago. It was the best thing I ever did. I love my games but found what was really important almost slipped away.

NGS+ is very nice altrough you can feel it's previous gen (no hand holding and hard difficulty)
Army Corps is fun but gets boring and repetitive fast.

Framerate drops don't bother me very much, unless you die cheaply over and over again due to them (aka. frame dropping while jumping a gap in a platformer and falling to your death...multiple times...)

Army Corps of Hell is worth $10 at best--if you pay more than that, I promise you'll regret it. Not a bad game, just very limited, to the point that it should've never been a full retail release.

For impressions of NGS+, just refer any reviews of the game's previous incarnations (eg. original XBox or Sigma on PS3). Same game, but with a slight downgrade in graphics from the PS3 version.

Thanks, I may pick both up then (I'm a huge Dynasty Warriors fan so I'm more than fine with repetitive).

So should I buy this machine now or wait for E3? Will it get a price drop here? It's already $199 at some Canadian retailers....

Personally unless you can get a solid deal (hello amazon black friday deal) I would just wait. The spring english line up isn't all that amazing, and the system is due for a price cut some time this year, most likely no later than E3 (though there is a small chance they would wait until TGS). Given the titles coming out on the ps3/360/PC your money would likely be better spent on games instead of a system right now... though it's unlikely many of the games released in the next few months will be better than persona 4 :P

Thanks man, yeah I learned the hard way that I almost lost the most important thing to me :)

-Army Corps of Hell

Army Corps of Hell is really fun but repetitive. They recycle enemies and bosses frequently and there's only three types of goblins you can have in your army, but you can synthesize new armor, weapons, and items.

If you're a metalhead (like me) the soundtrack is AWESOME and I frequently found myself replaying levels just for the music.

It's made by one of the core guys behind Pikmin, so it's basically the same in terms of gameplay, only with buckets of blood. I'm talking so much blood it's ridiculous - everything bleeds or explodes in giant bloody explosions. Goblins eat dead bodies to get materials. Some monsters have boobies or are penis shaped, it's pretty wild.

was the port any good? I thought it had frame rate problems?

lol he's the CEO of the development company that made it. The port's great. Everyone says it's great that's played it including me.

Awesome job, though, Stewart. Did you get numbers yet? Are you happy with them if so?

Don't buy it, it's fun for the first 1 or 2 hours, but the gameplay is always the same, there's not much content and it has only 3 types of soldiers and imo the ones with the lance are futile.
It could have been a good game with more variety and contents.

Thanks mate, looks like I'll definitely pick this one up at some point when it hits a sale or I find it used.

Also, best of luck with the relationship, I was in a similar spot as you were 3 years ago and me and the lady somehow worked through it (mostly). If you need someone to talk to or need some advice let me know or send me a PM.

Edit: Forgot how many years I've been with the lady (good thing she doesn't know anything about GAF).
