Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

Wipeout 2048,Gravity Rush (at times).

Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is easily the worst because of how often the loads (lasting almost a minute) occur. Comparable offenders like Wipeout and Gravity Rush at least have the decency to occur at less frequent intervals (due to the nature of the gameplay in Gravity Rush's case) or give you something to look at (in Wipeout's case).

I have played PSABR and Gravity Rush. But the load times didn´t seem so long for me.. never played Wipeout 2048 (sue me please), so can´t comment on that...

I just asked because ..yeah just because..

EDIT: Top of page.. do not buy Persona 4..

Sorry to ask.. but what is the worst game "LOAD TIME"-wise on the VITA..? Are there any games that have way to much loading going on..? if so, what games and how long are those load times..?

I think gravity rush takes a lot of time only once. After that the game is as seamless as they come. But doing challenges on them is infuriating.
Wipeout times were reduced with patches. Still can be reduced although HD & Fury packs load real fast!
Escape plan is really bad in terms of load time considering how short the levels are!

Assassins creed loads ok! MK is really fast! Uncharted also loads only one time!

Try redoing the challenges.

Exactly. Why bother when you can get Golden?

You will rue your post.

Some of the EU PSN store updates have gone up. Imaginstruments is one of the new items on Vita side.

Try redoing the challenges.

I just hate games that have long load times that ruin the game flow.. some games load way to much..
Some games work like this (fictive example)

- Start game.
- Load to Mission Hub.
- Load to game world.
- Load to start Mission.
- Watch cutscene.
- Load the game world again.
- Enter door to advance mission.
- Load the next world/room/whatever..
- Load Cutscene.
- Finish mission after tons of loading screens.
- Load back to mission Hub..

that pisses me of when the load times are 30+ (sometimes much more) on some of those loads.. it totally ruins the flow of the game..

I was just checking to see if any Vita games are affected by that kind of stupid loading.. and I guess there is no difference whether it´s a cratridge game or a Downloaded game.

Shit I was just coming on here to post about Gravity Daze's loading times. I see some people have already mentioned it.

They seem ridiculously long for some things.

Is there any way to improve them?

Gworl please. Your post two posts before this has about ten typos.

Reason...

Well that is super stupid. There are obviously reasons not to like it, but giving a general recommendation saying "DONT BUY X", when apparently 99% of all people playing it enjoy it immensely is already super stupid. Saying that when you havent even played it makes you look like the biggest troll/douche on the floor.

Well that would be "more" depth... but not exactly much either >_>
It would be a start, though!

A start would be playing When Vikings Attack instead of trolling. A goal is understanding that not all games have to be Persona 4 to be fun. Especially talking about When Vikings Attack wich is a fast arcade game with a lot of interesting mechanics (object weight, group components, throwing mechanics ecc...)

I'm sure it was intended as tongue-in-cheek.

:)

What a peaceful and happy thread page.

Edit: What a confusing miscommunication/misquoting page.

Yes, my comments were tongue-in-cheek, and if Hanmik's were the same and he doesnt actually mean it, I apologize.

Random aside: I am actually interested to try WVA, but couldnt convince myself to grab it yet since the videos didnt look that interesting to me. More mechanics COULD sway me, but I am not saying its a bad game in its current state. Just maybe not for me, which is why I am reluctant to drop money on it. Games that arent that deep can still be fun (as I played Skyrim for 120 hours or something), though, so who knows.

Hate to break the happiness but I have some bad news :(

Got into a huge fight with the wife, Vita is off limits until she thinks things are better. I'll still be posting here and following games but I had to prove to her that she means more to me than my games do. Fun fact - I took a hammer to my Vita about 5 times and it's still ok. Mind you, I didn't wail on it because of how painful it was to do that, but the glass wasn't hurt at all. I did have my Persona 4 screen protector on it.

Anyway, here's to a new year of self improvement, sadly less gaming but more productivity!

Toma your lack of activity since the turn of the year has been missed. :)

Ouch. Priorities though. :)

Awww, sorry to hear. Family is most important though, so good luck with your issues and may you still have a happy year with your wife.

(Although no one would get me to hammer my Vita. NO ONE. I would rather gift it away than to hammer it >_<)

Unfortunately, the translation I am doing atm is huuuuuuuge and takes a lot of overtime. I usually spend time on the PC after (or even during) work, but currently I just fall dead to the bed after translation for 10 hours.

I can imagine. :( Oh Well better to be in work busy than in work twiddling your thumbs, less likely to be out of work then.

So, correct me if I'm wrong... you didn't even try it? And you say it's not deep?

I finished it and played it for a quite good time and I can say that there's a lot of things to learn if you want to play well this game. Unfortunately WVA has not been promoted like it deserves so there's no interest on it around the web... too bad because it's one of the biggest surprises for me, one of the most played Vita games of last months, both offline and online.

hammer to the Vita..? don´t let Carl read that.. (just kidding.. again)

my P4G golden (non)suggestion was a joke . .. I never comment badly about a game I haven´t played.. ;o)

Well I still dont know what I'll be doing after this project. My company hasnt relocated me to another team officially yet. Considering the latest talks, I should be finding a spot somewhere though.

We'll see :)

EU Store update post is up. Only Vita stuff is SFxT gem packs (OH BOY!!) and LBP costumes. Life of Pixel and Haunt the House have been up since yesterday.

Next week we get EDF and RCR.

I asked in the Vita thread a few times after it released and watched quite a few videos of it. I indeed havent played it yet, but no one else managed to convince me otherwise that it actually is interesting enough for me to play it. I am sure others enjoy it though. Feel free to convince me otherwise if you disagree with the notion of depth, though.

To be fair.. you mentioned "Skyrim" when saying to make it more deeper, and I dont consider that a deep game either. I think our definition of depth just differs greatly.

Yeah, that was weird as you seem to be a reasonable guy usually. >_> Ah well, maybe I am just on the edge and a bit overworked :p

I'm sorry to hear that. I do hope you insisted she drops whatever she finds fun to do too.

I have never understood this when people get into relationships, have children, etc. You must give up, cut down your gaming?!?

My partner never once insisted I cut it down or out, as she knows it is my release, I still spend time with my son (play with him, take him to hockey, read with him, etc), spend time with her.

Maybe I am just lucky.

Best of luck to you fella.

God damn. Well, I hope you can turn things around. Get a PS+ membership, use that for periodic game play, and since there will be months with garbage releases (like Chronovolt for instance), it'll be simple motivation (and reality check) to drop the Vita and spend a hefty amount of time with her (that's what I'm doing this year - with a few exceptions like Dragon's Crown).

Awwww, you cant just post a picture of your cute daughters when I misunderstood your comment and argued with you >_<

*goes into the corner of shame*

Sorry, dude. Really nice family picture though :)

I'm lucky in that my wife is a nurse, and works a lot of evening hours. Once my daughter is in bed, I can have some guilt-free gaming time. The Vita has actually been helpful, as I can sneak in a bit of gaming here and there, pause the action, and easily resume at a later time. Regardless, I'm sure we've all had times in which gaming has been a bit too much of a priority, and I've certainly been guilty of that, but family should always come first.

I play a lot with my 6 year old. I introduced him over the last 2 years. He had to start with a NES (didn't want to subject him to the tape loading era), Mega Drive, Saturn, Dreamcast, various handhelds, PS1, XBOX, PS2, then to modern day.

He has a much greater appreciation of games I think, than I had expected. I love family times when we can all play together. (not as often as I'd like, as we tend to be at the ice rink so he can do hockey training, or games most times).

It's why I love the Vita, I can just pick it up wherever or whenever, rather than having to go to the drawer to get a controller, find a game, turn the TV on. They should market the Vita at gamers from our era who now have families ;)

Edit: beautiful kids by the way. Nice to see faces, here is the view I usually have of my son:

Well I think I find myself quite lucky then!

I met my boyfriend through gaming actually and in a lot of ways he's a bigger nerd than I am, though not necessarily towards video games. That being the case there have been times when I have to make it clear that playing games for 5 hours on a Friday night and not going out is a tad annoying.

Sorry to hear mate, I'm sure she'll turn around :)

Some of these stories help make me glad I'm single. Hammer to the Vita, only playing at night. No thanks!

I do feel bad for you guys though. It has to suck.

edit: Though lately I've only been playing Vita at night due to my enormous all around backlog. But that's by choice!

Agreed, the Vita is the only console that I can actually fit into my busy family and work life these days. I love it for that reason.

It doesn't though. I still play the games I actually really want to play on the PC/Consoles. No longer am I just trying to play everything because I can.

I am enjoying gaming more now, than I was a few years back.

My wife doesn't care. I pretty much only play my Vita anymore (haven't gamed on my PS3 in ages), so I'm always in the same room as her when I game. I think she appreciates me being in the same room as her more than anything.

Unfortunately we can't do that. When I'm reading and she's playing Persona 4, she's all snorts and giggles! It's kind of a battle to see who gets the lounge area first in the evening.

^ Ransom? They making you pay one for it? ;)

Damn man, keep everything together yeah :)

Still, it did prove useful, we now know that Persona 4
Hori
screen protectors are better than all others.
