Wii U Satisfaction Thread

The Tatsunoko Wii stick is good enough for me. I haven't used the Tekken Wii U TE stick, but TE sticks are top of the line. They're great.

So my parents bought me a Wii U, the ZombiU pack to be precise. Hoping it'll get here really fast.

I'm just thinking about getting 2 other games, 1 of em is most likely gonna be New Super Mario Bros U. U guys got any tips for the other? I already played AC3 and ME3.

Batman?
that is an awesome game if you have not played it

Trine 2
Ninja Gaiden 3 RE are my other favorites so far

Little inferno(eshop). No really a game per se but i had a lot of fun with it. On sale too.

Ninja Gaiden 3 Razor's Edge is pretty freakin' awesome.

I beat ZombiU on normal for the first time last night. It's the first game I have completed on my Wii U. Excellent, just excellent. I had saved so much ammo, that the end was such a cake walk. I am thinking, I might try hardcore one day down the road.

Which game should I go heavy into next:

Mass Effect 3
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Assassins Creed 3
Ninja Gaiden 3
Darksiders II
Sonic Racing Tranformed
Trine 2

On my back burner that I play a little bit everyday are NSMBU, Black Ops II and Nintendo Land.

How is Nintendo Land for single play? I've had it for over a month and haven't even opened it yet. Don't have anyone to play with.

It's no Trine 2, but most of the games are single player, and few of them are particularly shallow (Yoshi Fruit Cart and Octopus Dance could qualify as such). Donkey Kong Crash Course is the most rage-inducing game that isn't technically cheap that I've ever played. I consider it a particular win when a game can evoke emotion, even if it's negative.

You're the only gameplay whore I know who gets negative emotions out of arcade gems ; p

Don't get me wrong -- I consider DKCC absolutely magnificent. This doesn't change the fact that I am constantly swearing while playing.

It doesn't help that I can get to the last platform before the Stage 10 goal but can't seem to jump off it without exploding. That attraction's star is frustratingly elusive. D:

So I orderd Ninja Gaiden 3 and New Super Mario Bros U.

And Trine 2, right? That's like a silent letter 'e', where it sort of doesn't have to be noted but is implicitly included.

This is going to sound stupid but I love the feel of the rounded edges of the Wii U disc !

LOL

Me too!

Ahh, that's something else. I swear a lot too when I play alone (and DKCC is not even the greatest swear inducer in NintendoLand for me), but that's not negative emotions, that's FUUUU *game menu -> restart* lovers' kind of talk ; )

If you're taking the 'vanilla' approach at area 10 - you just have to mind your speed at the last hop - too slow or too fast an you're toast.

Probably appropiate for this thread. Emily is tweeting:

"We'll announce this upcoming Wii U eShop indie game on a big Nintendo site next week. I'm hoping it'll be @nintendolife"

I have a question for people about owning a wii and a wii u. I am currently fixing up my place and plan on hooking everything up again in a neater fashion. If I only plan on playing wii u games on the wii u, i dont need the sensor bar connected right??? I dont need two sensor bars connected, right?

Plan on using my wii still for the wii games and gamecube. So basically just trying to make sure that the sensor bar is only needed for the wii games right??

It's used in NintendoLand too. So nope :)

You need a sensor bar, when you a use Wiimote. No wiimote, no sensor bar.

Blargh...I can't play my franchise in Madden 13 without it freezing. I can play 'quick play', but I can't make halftime without the hardlock in my franchise.

Sucks :(

Also, what's a better solution to the sensor bar than the cheap wireless ones?

I have bought the Monoprice one and a cheapo on Black Friday and they were the same things...their range is paltry so they're useless in my theater room.

What are my options?

I bought this one for the Wii and have been happy with it. My TV is 15 feet from my component rack so there was no way it would work otherwise. It's actually longer and and a bit brighter than the OEM bar which helps if you're sitting far from the screen. It also includes a plug-in power adapter that you can use, or you could plug it into your TV if it has USB ports.

( I sit about 15 feet from the sensor bar. )

This is actually three games but its less then the price of two retail games. Is get nano neo assault, trine 2, and sonic racing.

Edit: oops, thought you were asking for two more games. Definitely get new Mario bro U.

I told myself I was going to be good, and wasn't going to buy a Wii U until the only game I really wanted on on the system, Pikmin 3, was released. That didn't last long after I caught wind of the £225 Zaavi eBay outlet deal. My usual inside voices kicked in and convinced me to get one while it was cheap. And I don't regret it at all.

I'm enjoying this system way more than I initially thought I would. Before the system arrived I traded in my dust collecting Kinect and games for some guilty-free additional purchases, including ZombiU and NSMBU.

The initial update took a while, around an hour or so, but since then nothing has really irked me too bad about the OS. The dipping in and out of the menus is admittedly slower than I'm comfortable with, but coming from a 3DS it's nothing I havn't learned to deal with. The news of an update addressing these problems at some point is welcome.

The Miiverse is the main feature that's blown me away. I didn't expect to be enjoying it as much as I do. Some of the artwork on there is incredible, and I find myself spending a good half hour between gaming just scrolling through the different communities, reading what people have to say. I love the integration in Nintendoland and NSMBU (although I wish the latter wouldn't prompt me to post something every single time I complete a level). The help bubbles on the world map of NSMBU have actually helped at times, and side bubbles after completing a game in Nintendoland are very fun to read. It really is the most social gaming system I've experienced. The quicker the Miiverse arrives on the 3DS (it is coming right?) the better, and I can't wait for versions on my iOS devices (I'd rather native applications but I'll settle for web views).

Nintendoland itself is the game I've been enjoying the most. It's great to fill the Pikmin 3 void with Pikmin Adventure while I wait, and Metroid Blast and Zelda Battle Quest are equally amazing. In fact, my girlfriend (who is mostly into Trivia games and Mario Kart) and I managed to complete Zelda together, and had a lot of fun while doing so (...ok, there were a few arguments now and then). Having glorious Nintendo gaming in HD is a delight.

I havn't played too much of ZombiU yet, but it seems legitimately intense, and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it. For whatever reason the controls took quite a while to get used to, even though it's standard FPS fair. Not sure if it's the ergonomics of the Gamepad or not, but I'm so used to playing Halo etc. on the 360 controller, it threw me off more than I'd care to admit.

NSMBU is the least exciting, though definitely enjoyable none the less. I 100%'d NSMB2 over the summer, so am a little burnt out on the series I guess, but It's great for 5 minute toilet play, without turning the Tv on.

I also downloaded Chasing Aurora, a game I remember thinking looked pretty amazing a few months ago. Unfortunately, it seems the developers chose to chop the game into two separate releases, one for the multiplayer component, and one for the story single player that will be released as a separate title at some point. It's not a game my girlfriend enjoys, so I'm stuck on my own playing the very limited challenge mode. A word of warning, it's a multiplayer game through and through. There's very little to do for one person, and I feel it's definitely not worth the asking price if that's all you intend to do. It's shame, because the visuals are amazing, it has very nice physics (very in line with NiGHTS into Dreams, no bad thing) and the music is lovely. Despite some framerate issues (that the devs say are being fixed in an update), it's got great atmosphere and I'm looking forward to the upcoming (actual) game.

So along with all that, I'm loving the machine, and can definitely see what Nintendo is trying to do here. Once they sort out some uniformity along their accounts, and the 3DS, I'm very excited about it's future. I just wish Pikmin 3 was out already...

That looks really nice.

What do you plug it into, though? I don't have a USB outlet where it would go.

So far I don't regret buying a Wii U. It was an impulse buy anyway. And good games will come for sure. I hated motion controls, so that's mostly gone at least. I thought I would play some FPS games on Wii U, but after trying Zombi U I realized again how terrible dual analogue controls are compared mouse and keyboard. It really boggles my mind that millions play COD or Halo on consoles, online even.

Mouse and keyboard are better for sure, but you have to realize all of those people have to use controllers. Thus there is an equal playing ground.

Has TVii launched? anytime i launch it, my Wii U hangs and the only way i can reset it is by unplugging the power cord. Could of sworn i red it was launch in late December in both the US and Canada

It comes with a USB-to-AC adapter that will plug into any wall socket. I have a recessed outlet behind my TV and the plug-in adapter was just a little too big to fit-- so I bought a cheap USB-to-AC "iPhone" phone charger off of Amazon for like $3.

Awesome thanks man!

Michel Ancel crazy talking again:

The hardware is powerful and we haven’t had any limitations. Visually, because we’ve had more time with the UbiArt engine, we were able to add a lot of depth to the graphics. You can especially see it in the backgrounds. There are more layers, more details; it feels more like a landscape. We’ve also done a lot with the lighting effects, both in gameplay and graphics.

I just want to say that I love the position of the right stick, feels way more natural to me in the upper position. In fact I tried to go back and use the Classic Controller for Black Ops for a match and I couldn't aim for shit, my right thumb wouldn't work like that anymore.

You guys should head over to the Nintendo Land OT if you like the single player games and feel competitive. The competition to be the best gaffer at DK crash course particularly is getting fierce!
It's just 3 of us actually but maybe this will get more people interested

It did launch, you may just have to update your system.

My system is up to date. I just tried launching it again and after what seemed like an eternity it finally gave me a error. Basically i launched TVii from the Wii U menu and on the TV it tells me to use the gamepad. The gamepad will have a grey background with a loading circle in the center at this point, and this is where it hangs. I never get to see the TVii menu options, this time however i waited it out and after what seemed like 5min it gave me this error: "Service not available, please try again in a few min".

I'm starting to wonder if it has anything to with how i have my TV and Wii U setup.

I have everything connected to a HDMI reciever, everything works but TVii :(

Yeah, no problems for me either when I was playing Zombi U and Batman

I think i'm going to exchange this system for a new one at EB. Can't get TVii to work at all and it makes me think something is wrong and i'd rather not get stuck with a defected system. Only issue preventing me from returning it is the fact that i've bought 2 games through the eShop, and read that your NNID is locked to the system?

Anyone able to clarify on how that works and what not.

Edit: I Also just completed all star coins on NSMBU, how would i be able to keep the save file, if i can

Is there any way to change the games tiles that show up in the plaza on your main home screen? I have a lot of games that I don't really want there that I would like to switch for others.

So i tried using TVii on another TV, even tried reformatting the WII U but still same issue.

Just got back from EB Games with a new console, here's hoping it works :)

Made sure to reformat the Wii U so my NNID wasn't locked to a User on the system, hopefully all goes well with linking my NNID to my new console.

Was hoping Nintendo was releasing consoles with the update but i guess that was asking too much...

So I got the Wii U for 2 days now, with the following games:

- ZombiU
- New Super Mario Bros U
- Ninja Gaiden 3 Razer's Edge

All I can say is, I'm loving the machine. The games look great, gameplay is fantastic. A game like NSMBU is so simple, yet addicting.

ZombiU however scares the crap out of me, I'm still gettin used to using the gamepad as the map, so I tend to pay some more attention to that screen then to the TV.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is imo 300% better then it's ps3/360 version. It just plays so well, dismemberments, less QTE's, more weapons etc. definately my favorite game by far right now.

Can't wait for Pikmin, Monster Hunter.

I don't think so. I was under the impression that they represented the most popular games/apps of Wii U's connected to the internet. Am I wrong?
