Anyone know a good deal on a PS3? Mine died this morning :(

If you're on Xbox LIVE Gold, you can get 2400 Microsoft Points and two months of nowtv (streaming movies) for £8.99.

Just sign up for the trial at http://www.nowtv.com/xbox and when you watch at least 90 minutes of stuff via the Xbox app you get 800pts. If you then subscribe for one month (at a cost of £8.99) you get a further 1600pts. Within 30 days.

So yeah, 2400 for £8.99 or just 800 for free if you'd rather.

Thanks for this, just signed up!

There's a good chance I'm being a spectacular numpty here, but I just tried to sign up for this (aiming to go for the 800 points for free thing), and I get taken to a page asking for my payment details.

It says I'm buying "Sky Movies Pass - FREE 30 DAY TRIAL (£8.99)" - am I missing something, or does it mean it would NORMALLY be £8.99, and I'm getting it for free? There's also a code "XBOXOFFER", but when I enter that it says I'm buying "Sky Movies Pass - FREE 30 DAY TRIAL" (without the "(£8.99)" bit) and that I'll be charged £8.90 for the first month.

Am I doing it wrong?

Nah I got the same thing, go through with it and it'll tell you that you wont be charged anything until Feb 10th. I don't know why the code knocks 9p off the price too, but it did the same for me.

Aha! Cheers Ein, job done. Cheers to the OP too. As a UK Netflix subscriber, NOW TV seems to have quite an interesting up-to-date collection of movies. Mind you, as a UK Netflix subscriber, my local charity shop does too.

From HUKD.

Green Man Gaming:
Use the following code to get 25% off pre-orders.

GMG25-XTYYZ-POSL1

So that means you can get Bioshock Infinite for £22.50 - steam activated too.
Also Crysis 3 for around £25.

Do these sites take your money in advance on pre-orders? Normally physical game pre-orders only charge when despatched but as there's no despatch process going on here..

They call them a "pre-purchase" on green man gaming for this reason, as they do indeed take the money there and then.

ugvm has slowed down some over the years, but there are still more than a few of us that post.

I've occasionally thought about trying to get back into Usenet; it's been a while, but there's no place quite like css. I wonder if the rec.*.int-fiction groups are still going strong, too?

HMV sale is poor lol

It really is =/ ESPECIALLY for games, my god!

To be fair there are lots of DVD's 25% off, but this only puts most in-line with what you pay online for them. I'm gonna research what films I want, how much they are online, and see how much they are in hmv tomorrow.

Tales of Graces f (Special Edition) £19.95 at Zavvi.

"Day-One Special Edition", ha. Although knowing Zavvi it probably isn't even that version.

Also £22.85 at Shopto for quickness although that's saying it's a regular edition (making me more suspicious of Zavvi since it just came in stock at both simultaneously...).

Edit: jesus why

I don't think Tales of Graces F had a second shipment. I could be wrong though.
Bought that game day one on Zavvi, but haven't had time to play it yet (and I want to beat Abyss first, because it's not as good as Graces).

Man, The Hut's customer services are just awful. Emailed them last Friday about changing the payment method for a pre-order, noting that I didn't want to cancel it because they'd since put the price up by £20. Finally got a response today:

Thanks Harry. I'm almost impressed that he managed to pack that many typos into a single sentence.

After reading your post I decided to check my Ni No Kuni Special Edition order with The Hut, and yep....I ordered it back in July with my card that expired in December. Emailed them about it and got an almost exact reply. Have you had any luck on this? I don't want to have to cancel and re-order and like yourself, have to then pay an extra £20.

I haven't even bothered to try again. I know from past experience that talking to their CS is like talking to a particularly thick brick wall, so I'd imagine it's pointless. Your situation might actually work out okay though. I seem to remember that with their sites if they try to charge your card and it doesn't go through, they'll invite you to log in and change it. So you might be okay.

Sadly, the money will be there for the card I picked; it'll just be a lot more inconvenient than if they took it from my other card. Oh well.

I believe it had, I see some copies on ebay.

I'm still unsure about Zavvi though, they might have the special edition yet, at least they had a bunch of them listed on ebay for quite a while after it went out of stock on the site.

Hopefully someone can confirm soon.

Hmm, really would like to get Graces but I rarely ever push paying £20+ for games these days. £15 and I would bite. Problem is, I know Graces is quite limited so I know £20 for it is possibly the best we'll get. Really not sure to go for it or not.

I bought Graces F, I had a 10% off Zavvi code. Worst comes to the worst I'll complain to Zavvi about advertising special edition (if I get normal) and I should get a discount or something.

I've been on the fence about Graces for some time but I'll give the zavvi deal a try. Kind of expecting to be disappointed considering the only Tales I liked were Symphonia, Phantasia and Vesperia (which I loved). I dropped all the others midway.

Likewise due to the reviews, but as a PS3 only owner I'm a bit starved right now for decent JRPGs.

Better than Xillia, but not as good as Vesperia or Symphonia as far as I'm concerned.

I figure this'll be the best place to ask. I've been recommended Radiant Historia for the DS by a friend. I've checked eBay/Amazon etc and the best price I can find shipped is around £55. Is there a particularly good website for imports from the US? I've tried the links in the OP but it didn't come to anything since it was obviously not released over here in the UK.

Thanks in advance :)

VideoGamesPlus

Shipping is a bit pricey but they provide exceptional service.

Have you checked out VideogamesPlus?

EDIT:
Beat :|

I know, I'm reluctant to play that price, but there isn't really any chance of picking it up locally on the cheap. My only other option is to wait it out and hope it becomes cheaper. Which I might do, of course that could also bite me in the ass later if it decides to become more expensive.

Damn, has that game gone up in price. Last march, when the reprint arrived, I bought the game from VGP for roughly £27 incl. shipping. That's crazy. Pretty much double the price now.

Great game though! Definitely recommend it if you can get it a bit cheaper than that. Not sure if it's worth it at 50 pounds.

Just picked up a £25 PSN card from Currys for £11.91, it said £21.97 on the box but at the till came up cheaper. No more left in my store but may be that price in others.

HotUKDeals will have made sure finding one is a wild goose chase. Unless you drive past a Currys I wouldn't go hunting.

Couldn't see it on HotUKDeals, it is on as being £21.97 which is only £3 saving. Maybe they reduced them further.

Edit: just seen it as expired, oh well guess I got lucky.

Think it's been asked before but can't remember the answer...

I know Zavvi are bad for normal orders delivery time wise, but how are they for pre-orders? Just seen they have pikmin 3 for £35.

nothing about xbox points for me, pretty sure it mentioned them yesterday.

Uh? I'm seeing this, which is the same as it was before. Says offer is on till the end of the month.

If you are in the UK, it all depends when they get their stock, I got Tales of Graces F last year 2 days before official release date, because they got their stock over the weekend and shipped on monday, so I received it by wednesday. However there have been other cases when they don't ship until the thursday before the friday release, so I didn't get the game until the next monday or tuesday.

no idea why, tried many url's and cleaned the cache, no change even if I click on how you can watch box.

pretty sure it doesn't matter if you do it through that page or the other. click start free trial and when you get the payment screen, enter XBOXOFFER in the voucher / code section.

the rest is as the original post said. watch 90 minutes of something and you'll get 800 points within 30 days. pay for the month after the free trial (£8.90) and you'll get 1600 points within 30 days.

don't forget to chancel auto renew if you don't want to pay after the free trial.
