Talking about Gold, there should be a "Gold" pokemon type.

I'm the only one to get it.

Normal only has 1 weakness. It'd a good way to buff Poison without throwing anything else under the bus.

How should water be SE to poison? Pollution destroys the ocean.

Normal has 1 weakness and 1 immunity. As it should be. Adding it another weakness means it's no longer "indifferent" to the type chart. Adding another immunity is overkill.

Pollution only destroys part of the ocean but at the same time ocean dilutes them. Sure animals will be killed in the process and it will take time, but it does heal. That's why you wash stuff with water - because it's (generally) neutral.

But why can't that just be what Rock type is for. :<

Fire types can't leave their homes without stepping out into a rainstorm, getting knocked over by an earthquake, or getting crushed under a rock slide. :< :< :<

It was a grab-bag thing for mangagaf. My vacation's over tho so don't have time for requests atm.

Playing through fire red and emerald right now, and it's weird to me how much I prefer the beginning and early pokemon types of emerald compared to red. Maybe it's because I've played gen 1 a lot more (got red/green/blue/yellow) compared to gen 3.

I prefer Gen 3 to Gen 1 definitely. I don't know why though... I haven't played Gen 1 that much but I enjoyed Sapphire/Ruby way more than Leaf Green.

Different species with no theme.

Remoraid -> Octillery works because they have the weapon theme (gun -> cannon). The ones you mentioned don't.

With that said I can see Miltank being the female counterpart for Bouffalant as well.

Oh yeah, that's very true. Gen 1 feels very bare bones in that regard. You're just moving from gym to gym and there's something about Team Rocket doing things. Yawn.

Well you can just run around and hope for a 1/8192 shiny, or you can Soft Reset in front of an event/gift pokemon, or you can use the Masuda Method.

I am using the Masuda method to ensure my first Gen V shiny is Scraggy. I've hatched probably over 3000 eggs on this hunt.

Magikarp to Gyrados is based on a common myth. The two have a lot of stylistic similarities.

Venonat to Venomoth is a mistake that they couldn't fix due to Butterfree's popularity.

Feebas to Milotic is a spin on Gyrados, but in an "ugly duckling" way.

All "trade with held item" evolutions are implied to be mutations where they react with the item in a highly volatile environment.

Combee, the honeycomb, becomes Vespiquen, the beehive.


Tauros and Bouffalant don't have anything in common aside from being 4-legged hoofed animals. No stylistic similarities, and unlike Tauros, they have an equal gender spread.

As of now I want Cosmic/Radioactive/Mythic(aka Ancient) to find their way into the game.

Crystal type. Similar to Rock type but is more involved at the Psychic/Dark/Ghost end of the spectrum.

I like these ideas. Though I feel like there's already too much overlap between ground and rock for Crystal and it would make for some similar looking Pokemon.

I like the idea of Cosmic. They've already dabbled with "alien" Pokemon for a while, could build a story/areas off of it like they have Deoxys, it could be retroactively applied to a ton of Pokemon as a roster shakeup, and could have a dynamic with psychic, normal and dragon (or more as I realize exactly how difficult it would be to rebalance all the types).

The 3D in the XL is meant to be a lot more kinder to the eyes and I think the battery life/screens are meant to be better.

Plus the original design is pretty ugly.
