The big twist is that GiantBombStats is going to turn out to be Patrick. He lost his mind from playing Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, and now he is convinced that there is some sort of conspiracy going on within the inner workings of the site itself. Only he has the insight and the inside access to truly blow the lid off this operation in his greatest scoop ever.

I'm still watching the Persona Endurance Run. If anything, there's too much content.

Truck Simulator? Ain't nobody got time for that.

In what reality is wishing for more premium content being a self-entitled prick?

I'm not happy about the lack of content either, but all the bitching and whinning and hyperbole isn't helpful, nor does it make the GAF Giantbomb community look very mature. It's holiday time, they're going through a lull, it's to be expected.

I just started watching GB's Persona 4 Endurance Run today. I myself am about 30 hours into P4 Golden, so this will be a nice accompaniment on my journey.

It's marvelous. I know it isn't premium content, but with stuff like this I can't imagine being left without stuff to watch on any given day. I only have the time to watch maybe 2 of their videos a day, and I miss a lot of days. So much to catch up on. And I still have the other Endurance Run series to watch, and a backlog of quicklooks and tnts.

An Endurance Run would be a fantastic way to offset the discontent at the lack of a structured Premium Content plan.

Endurance runs are cool, but I think they should spice it up and do something original.

With the arrival of Twitch there are countless of people streaming complete gameplay experiences these days.

The question is what? A tough nut to crack.

I feel like I've spoiled myself by watching those best of videos on Youtube. Still worth watching through?

Absolutely. I am almost embarrassed to admit that I watched the entire thing 3 times already, it's still amazing. The best-ofs don't do it enough justice.
It's just such amazing background content to throw on the iPad when i'm cooking or cleaning or whatever.

Dungeons are background noise while you do something else, but s.link time is amazing

The dungeon episodes were basically Jeff&Vinny's private podcast. The first Endurance Run was the best.

Would be nice to get another endurance run but the "You aren't doing it right, idiot!" crowd spoiled it for us all I think.

I always got the feeling its more the "OH MAN WHEN'S THE NEXT ONE????" crowd. People wouldn't shut up about it, and the crew is mad reactive to internet outcry.

The thing is a lot of people would rather see the Giant Bomb personalities do that stuff than random people twitch.

The key part of the Endurance Run, in my opinion, is the game they choose. Persona 4 and Deadly Premonition stand out because the content in the game gives them plenty of material to work with. Chrono Trigger wasn't so hot because that game is lacking in the quirkiness of the other two.

Rewatching some of the GOTY videos and man, they really did go all out. I'm wondering if they should have made those skits throughout the year rather than last minute. They sound exhausted on the last couple days of the podcast and I think it's because they were doing so much work that one week. Even if that's not why they were tired, I would think coming up with a good GOTY idea and diluting the work throughout the year would be preferable to packing it in one month. They're probably busy all the time, though.

That's why I think they need to embrace, and exploit that.

Pick the most beloved RPG you can think of, and then play as poorly as possible whilst making comments about what overrated shit it is.

It would take time for many people to get the joke, but if they did it right the comments to those ERs would be so much fun to read.

We're talking about the GB community, there's a very likely chance they will never get the joke.

If the "You're playing it wrong!" or "When's the next one?!?" crowd is what stops them from producing more ER's, I would lose a lot of respect for the GB crew. They're grown-ass men, the internet is always going to be the internet.

I prefer to believe they're more reasonable than that and the lack of ER's is due to the fact they look like they're a bitch to schedule and games with ER qualities are very, very rare (all the community suggestions so far have been garbage).

Vinny and Jeff playing through 999 or VLR would be rad as fuck but also not really

They just need the right game to come along, a good endurance run isn't something that can be forced. Also, fuck the people who get pissy when the guys don't play the game "correctly" that's where some of the funniest moments come from (Bufu).

I feel like I've spoiled myself by watching those best of videos on Youtube. Still worth watching through?

Absolutely, the Persona 4 endurance runs is the one of the best pieces of content on the site. A best of video doesn't do it justice.

Pretty sure Jeff has specifically said the "when's the next one" crowd is what makes him not want to do one.

There would be enough people who would get the joke, I think, to convince those that don't. Slowly. That'd be half the fun. Watching the crowd turn.

Vinny playing Sleeping Dogs FOREVER

He'll never find all those lock boxes man. It's just not possible.

Pretty sure Jeff has specifically said the "when's the next one" crowd is what makes him not want to do one.

He's also said that the Deadly Premonition devs hyping up their endurance runs (via Twitter) and using it as a marketing tool was really off putting. I can kinda understand where he is coming from.

Well once you date one of the chicks they all turn up on your minimap, so

Couldn't you say that about almost every single video they make?

Couldn't you say that about almost every single video they make?

Not really. A quicklook (usually) comes out when other gaming sites are covering said game. That and we usually don't see more videos of a game after a quicklook (not counting TNTs and other nonsense). However, an endurance run can last for months after other sites have stopped covering the game.

So when a developer starts hyping endurance run videos on daily/weekly basis it just seems like a bit of a conflict of interest even though there is nothing malicious going on.

When I was replaying Policenauts a while ago, I had an idea that they should do a Snatcher and Policenauts ER.

One team can do Snatcher and the other can do Policenauts, and they can alternate daily. Both games are around 10 hours too so it would be nice and short.

I really enjoyed the Chrono Trigger ER.
Ryan and Patrick are a good combo and hearing them stumble though the game before eventually getting pretty good at it was fun.

That would be pretty cool, except the part about Policenauts needing a fan translation patch which could be legally grey.

I too really enjoyed the CT ER. I had never played the game, despite trying a couple of times, and I really learned to appreciate just how amazing it is, while also enjoying the banter.

Was debating with myself earlier today which is the rarest combo, mainly for quicklooks. Has to be Patrick&Jeff, right?

I think its Brad&Ryan. I can't recall a single QL with this pair, unless you count the Endurance Run.

clearly they secretly hate each other rite
