He's just canceling his autorenew. If he actually gives a damn about the premium stuff he'll renew before his current subscription runs out.

I imagine Brad is boiling mad at the internet right now. Hopefully he doesn't blow a gasket.

Well we already got him to post a angry post.

Next step on the pissed off brad ladder is ether a passive aggressive tweet or mention on the podcast.

I think I'll call this the "Official Brad Review" gif.

edit: Should have included his GOTY list for good measure.
Much rage over Mass Effect 3 and Frog Fractions. Probably should include Minerva's Den and Skyrim too.

Hi. You might remember me as Ben the former really tall intern with the deep voice that wasn't Daniel. I used to do a podcast with Kessler, Lemon and Nick called Internal Affairs for Whiskey Media that a couple of you guys liked. Just wanted to let you know we started doing it again (sans Lemon) for our new thing Gameburglars.

Come on now, set up a regular rss for us normies

Oh my god, the review comments are truly astounding. This has to be a joke.

Wow, talk about intentionally sticking your head in the sand.

It's obvious that Brad has another agenda and has had one for some time now, if you can't see this you are blind beyond repair or too much of a Giantbomb fanboy to see the truth. I love GB, and although it pains me to do this, someone has to speak out, and I do it because I care about them. But Brad Shoemaker is so deep in the pockets of big-name corporations, it's not even funny at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if he left Giant Bomb by the end of this year. HIS 2012 GAME OF THE YEAR was Mass Effect 3. MASS EFFECT 3. Think about that for a minute.I am this close to using the word sheeple, thats how painful this is to Brad sympathizers.

Jeff may have retained his integrity throughout this whole merger but its been painfully obvious that over the past two years especially (i.e. gunning for Skyrim over Saints Row The Third despite LOSING the debates in the podcast and putting his foot down to make sure it won) have been extremely telling that Brad isn't a reliable source of review integrity anymore. This review all but confirms it.

I have been with Brad through thick and thin, I was there cheering him on when he defeated the airplane in Call of Duty 4 and trended worldwide on Twitter, I was with him when he reviewed Lost Planet 2, but at some point, out of love and respect for this man's career, I have to take a step back and tell him "No man, I can't support you. You need to check yourself and look at what you've become"

I cannot in good faith support this company any more. This is not the Giantbomb I fell in love with, ever since the CBS takeover I think they've changed for the worse, and I hope they can somehow change and earn my money back.

I'm still waiting for the next episode of the Chilicast.

Man, Brad really should build up his heel persona. He could be the next Geis or Sterling and take over the angry game reviewer mantle.

It's all just a plan to get ready to transition Giant Bomb into a wrestling show style video game site.
Announcer: "By god, Rudds just ran down MonsterDunk with a car!"
Brad:"THAT'S WHAT YOU GET FOR SCORING BIOSHOCK INFINITE A 3/5."
Announcer: "What could have possibly possessed Rudds to do this monstrous act to another man? FIND OUT NEXT WEEK ON THURSDAY NIGHT THROWDOWN!"
[End of show card]

It's all just a run-up to their match at the Big Live Live Show Live Pay Per View event.

Nah. People beat him up for being overly positive about certain games but other than some aggressive arguing during GOTY, he doesn't come off as the arrogant asshole type.

DmC is a good game. It's definitely better than anything Ninja Theory has made thus far. I don't really know why GB is catching the brunt of the backlash, considering it's been getting high scores everywhere.

He just needs to cultivate it by shutting down all discussion on the Bombcast with sweeping tautological statements of assumed truth.

Brad's score is technically the highest on Metacritic, he talks about the story being good when that's a sticking point for a lot of people who think it's awful, it sounds like a lot of the crazy-into-mechanics DMC players (especially the ones in the tournament scene) would strongly disagree with his assessment of the mechanics, and he openly admits to not playing DMC since 2, which annoys fans since 3 and 4 are seen as having amazing mechanics that are possibly the pinnacle of the genre.

EDIT: Oh and that last line kind of pissed some series fans off since he makes it sound like the series was dead when it was only like three years between DMC4 being very successful and the reboot being announced.

These all sound like reasons to take (or dismiss) his opinion as the layman's point of view as opposed to throwing a hissy fit about him not being elite enough to review it. At least he outlines the context of his review in the last paragraph.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't rate it as highly as Brad, but I think it's quite a good game. I like it better than 2 and 4 and not as much as 1 or 3, based mostly on mechanics because I think that the series has always been supremely stupid in the story/presentation department. I at least like Dante, which is all I could really ask for. Ninja Theory's well-mocapped melodrama and the previous standard of over-the-top BROODING CHEESE are equal levels of "heh, okay guys" in my book. I defer to DahBomb for most of the technical analysis because I've never been great at DMC, but considering it runs at 30fps I think it feels great for the most part. I can see where he's coming from even if I think he rates NT a bit high in the story department.

Agreed. If it's one thing that GB has made clear over the years, it's that they rate games based off of their personal experience with it. I, for one, love this as it allows you to align your own tastes alongside the reviewers and place it into the appropriate context. Listening to them during their GOTY podcasts is one of the greatest, most down-to-earth experiences we'll have with game journalists. They know games are flawed, but they explain why they love them.

he should be honored! I wish a crazy internet man made an awesome gif of my work as well;_;
I resent that. : (

Is Brad the only one getting flack for liking the game?
Honestly, I'm considering looking into it now, after his glowing review. Doubt I'll have any real time to play it for a while, but I'll probably try to grab it at some point, now.

Yeah pretty much, I wish I would had just started on classic. I enjoyed normal but it really was a pretty big joke. But more to the point I was just expecting something crazy based on how the GB crew reacted to the game which is why I don't think it was a very good example for a point of the guys enjoying "super deep mechanics" or whatever because xcom certainly doesn't fit that bill.

Like I said earlier, the toxin that built up over this generation is leaving their systems. Baby steps, mang.

Wow, is this really a thing from the GB comments? Christ, sometimes the hate can be a little strong here in the GAF thread, but just....what the fuck?

Cockiness leads to hate. Hate leads to exposure. Exposure leads to sales. NT has been doing this thing for years now.
