But I've never been a big Devil May Cry fan.
As a Halo fan who sees seriously problems with just about every bit of Halo 4, I find it hard to appreciate some of the more glowing reviews (Arthur Gies's for example) and still take the author's opinion seriously.
In that they're still entitled to their opinion, but I regard it as a foolish one.

I dunno, if it weren't for brad's glowing review of Enslaved i wouldn't have even played it and that game was great. He is a gentleman of fine tastes, imho.

Jeff is right. Old school DMC fans are the most butthurt group of fans I've seen lately.
If I was Brad, I'd step away from the internet for a week and let this all blow over.

Yea, fun game. Too bad the story was kinda bad but the shooting was great.

Haha, yeah, as insane as it sounds -- there totally is. Though I dunno if "tournament scene" is the right word for it because the "scene" is pretty much just people beating each others scores and performing more impressive feats. Its more akin to speedrunning.

Ehhhh, this thread hasn't been too bad. Most of the deplorable bullshit was pulled from elsewhere. Debates over claims in the text and disagreements in opinion make sense to discuss and I'm sure the GB guys welcome it. If they didn't why have comment sections to begin with. It's the personal and professional attacks by way over-invested fans who were hoping that Brad would stick it to Capcom for alienating them, that are the problem and I haven't seen much of that in here. Some ribbing maybe but nothing on the level of whats going on with fans elsewhere.

A: Yeah, I do. But it can be hard to rally support for getting out there and trying to do better, more inventive stuff when there’s a vocal segment of people who just want more.

Speaking of Euro Truck Sim 2, did anyone give it a go after the live stream? I'm fucking addicted to it. Changed my opinion on the "simulator" games completely - there's a whole lot of game to be found in it, and for what it is it's really well crafted.

Don't get too excited, a lot of the games in that genre are awful (and GB should QL every single one..). But Euro Truck Sim 2 is just a great game in its own right.

I quit caring about review scores years ago. It's sad to see people rage about a score for a game they probably haven't even played.
It actually looked like a good game, and the live streaming radio was an awesome feature. I might pick it up at some point, as I'm planning to build a gaming pc soon.

There's no excuse for some of the bullshit, no matter how invested people are. It's not like Brad is making decisions at Capcom. Was he supposed to adjust his opinion of the game because he should be aware that dedicated fans aren't happy with the direction Capcom chose to go with the franchise? Is that something that he should be taking into account with his reviews?
It reminds me of some of the ME 3 backlash. I was very invested and I hated what Bioware and EA did with that game. I voiced my opinion here but at the same time I was amazed at some of awful overreactions that were being reported. Death threats and harassment of Bioware employees overshadowed the actual issues with the game and instead of a discussion about poor game design and story decision, the story was about the over the top wackjob fans that took things way too far. I don't know if this thing has reached those kind of levels but I will say crazy reactions don't help the fans case and it gives the people in charge an excuse to ignore them all. Though to be honest, they will likely ignore the fans regardless, unfortunately.

You can grab the demo from their site if you want to give it a try first. Lets you do about 5 or 6 deliveries (maybe more, can't remember), and you'll definitely know if you like it by the time you're done.
Yeah I had a bit of trouble at first. Main thing is to try and line up as straight as you can by circling in front of the parking zone and driving straight in front of it. I do something like the below for most of the normal delivery areas. Also, don't over correct!

Tournament might not be the right word, but the competition between the best DMC 3 and 4 players to outdo each other's combo videos has yielded some pretty amazing results. This is my favorite, but I'm more of a DMC 3 guy.

I'm SO fucking tempted. I don't know why but I found the idea of the game really appealing. You might just have pushed me over the edge and into the abyss of Euro Truck Madness. God help me.
In regards to Bradgate. Brad's a good lad, his heart's in the right place I'm sure and I always have the option to disagree with his opinions without hating him for having them or causing me to disregard any others he might have. I disagree with all the GB crew's opinions sometimes and sometimes their opinions mirror mine. It shouldn't bother anyone that Brad happened to really like the new DMC, that's his opinion and it doesn't need to reflect anyone else's.
The rage is really intense in places though and I find it really disturbing that people can care THAT MUCH about something as trivial as one person's opinion on one game. Some people have a strange sense of perspective.

What about Euro Truck Horn Simulator? Euro Truck Ham Radio Hack and Talk Smack Simulator?
If you intend to buy either, i'd put the wheel as the priority. I'm using a driving force gt I got for gt5 a couple years ago and it's great. Track IR would definitely make looking around a bit better, but I can't say it's something that's would add hugely to my enjoyment of the game. I'd only get one if I was planning to use it with at least a handful of other games.

This anger + Internet makes everything worse and it's not just Brad that's getting backlash. This has more to do with the franchise than Brad himself. He's just another Internet reviewer getting shit from fans who are taking the loss of OG DMC very hard. Some people cope in different ways :lol
