More like this one.

Was that movie ever proven to be fake? In the movie and show the people never act like you would expect them. Also the dude was a ballet dancer, has a tramp stamp, is a attractive dude, not saying he is gay but he fits the stereotype to a T.

While I think it is hilarious. It also speaks to the quality of sports journalists in this country that this was able to be pulled off so easily. Which we all knew was shit but seriously this is a different level.

Holy fuuuck, perfect. 10/10. Well played.

This story is so ridiculous that it's totally unbelievable. Seems the common rumor is that she was just a fictional beard and he's gay.

A gay Mormon? That's a bad situation to be in. Still laughing.

What does Notre Dame have to gain by releasing a BS statement like that. Its only going to cause more trouble. Why take the heat for this guy?

Because their dumbfuck fans will eat it up. Already got a "He didn't know" text.

Somebody on a pc should search for the Teo/Rome interview he actually talks about "her" in detail.

Well the guy on cbs radio (college football reporter) who came on after the deadspin guy made an interesting point (after stating that reporters must "stink" at their jobs):

If you hear someone's girlfriend died and got that story, it almost seems immoral or weird to fact check her existence and ask for a death certificate

From the deadspin article.

Nov. 28, 2009: Te'o and Kekua meet after Stanford's 45-38 victory over Notre Dame in Palo Alto, according to the South Bend Tribune: "Their stares got pleasantly tangled, then Manti Te'o extended his hand to the stranger with a warm smile and soulful eyes." Kekua, a Stanford student, swaps phone numbers with Te'o.

Yeah, so this pretty much blows up the "victim of a hoax" bullshit.

That's a bit uncouth.

I hope people can dig up Teo interviews where he has claimed to be with her.

On Finebaum's radio show, they just played a clip of an interview with him after a game. The reporter mentions his grandmother and his girlfriend dying, and Manti responds by saying, "He felt they were with him." So I guess there goes the he didn't know defense.

Manti Te'o said:
You know, I really wanted to see her. I really wanted to see her. But I knew that she made me promise, you know one day she made me promise that, she said, "Babe, if anything happens to me, you promise that you'll still stay over there and that you'll play and that you'll honor me through the way you play, and know that I would rather have you there." And just make sure that all she wanted was some white roses. White is her favorite color. So she just wanted some white roses and that's all she asked for. So I sent her roses and sent her two picks (interceptions) along with that, so that was good.
Jeeeeeeez.

He teared up on Rome. I remember feeling bad for the guy.

bish gets all the credit :)
The only way this story gets better is if the "girlfriend (Ronaiah Tuiasosopo)" and Manti were lovers.

But if you are covering the story wouldn't you want a comment from a relative or friend about the relationship or a photo of the couple together. Or maybe get in touch with Stanford to try and try to find a professor to comment on her love of music. Then when you can't get in touch with a relative or a friend, no one at Standford knows of her, and no picture what do you do post the quotes given to you or do you wonder why you can't find these people?

Dickey (one of the writers) made an excellent point on the Finebaum show:

If ND (and Te'o) were made aware of the hoax on December 26, why did they allow ESPN to shoot inspirational stories about Te'o before the national title game?

Crazy.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BGgIwSc8M3M
"Manti Te'o- Overcoming Tragedy"

It's an inspirational story!

Manti: "Her [Lennay Kekua's] older brother called me, and he was just crying and crying and crying... and that's when I kinda knew but I was still in denial... and I was like, 'Don't tell me you're crying because it's what I'm thinking'... and that's when he just said, 'she's gone.'"

So Manti got a phone call from her older brother (who doesn't exist) that his sister (who doesn't exist) was dead.

And Manti's family is trying to pretend he was hoaxed? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

All valid points lol

I thought imaginary girlfriends were exclusive to nerds online. Did he also go ly dow after her death?

And the Catfish defense is high level comedy.
