From what I've heard he hasn't had much (if any) difficulty with the whole thing.

just spam it on very new page here :P

but seriously tell us what the game is :D

He hasn't given me a name yet. He says he hopes to submit the game in a couple of weeks. Will let you all know the name when I know it.

Is MH4 on Vita really a complete "no chance in hell" situation ala "pokemon on IOS"? I've never really followed the news on it but have always heard good things about the series.

Did Nintendo pay Capcom for exclusive rights or is that just what people assume?

Most people assume since it was announced by nintendo that is has some form of exclusivity.

Capcom hasn´t yet decided on other versions of Monster Hunter 4..

It was announced on a Nintendo livestream, but that doesn't mean anything in and of itself as far as exclusivity goes.

I wouldn't have placed even the tiniest stock in the possibility, but this rumor aligns nicely with the "surprise scoop" on a "popular series" in the upcoming Famitsu. I choose to believe, for the fun and giggles.

Is there a way to blind navigate to remote play? I don't use it enough to have remote start on but I'd like to be able to access it without turning on the TV.

Well, I suppose if you knew how many button presses it took to get remote play going on PS3, you could. I thought I could just turn on my PS3 and press x once to get passed the PS+ auto update prompt. No dice... had to flip to the PS3 input on TV quickly to navigate over to the remote play icon. That said, if you were confidient that it's press right once, press down twice, press x, or something like that, you could manage, I suppose.

Same account. I can log into my PSN on both vita and console, I just can't copy stuff over.

What about free space? I wonder if it's one of those things where it needs the space + x amount additional for unpacking before install? I don't see why not being able to access PSN would prevent you from doing it, but that could be it as well. If PSN comes back up and you can magically transfer, we'll have the answer. :)

Uh, I'm still getting an error message when I'm trying to access the PSN store. It's been like that for over a day now. Is the maintenance really supposed to take that long?

Estimated time for going back online is in an hour afaik. Hopefully thay won't take longer than that.

EDIT: nvm, delayed till 10PM GMT (5 hours from now).

EDIT2: for Europe at least~~

I agree. There are plenty times where a game is announced by one company only to be revealed as multiplatform. I don't know if I believe this rumor though. It is capcom after all and some of their decisions cannot be understood.

I believe the relationship between Capcom and Sony in terms of MH has been soiled - probably one of the reasons why Capcom jumped ship so hard. You're gonna have to deal with PSO2 and Soul Sacrifice.

Balls. Come back up, PSN, we miss you!

Monster Hunter got psp popular in japan, popular = games, and games = developers showing an interest in the vita

True. This is about the only reason I'd give a damn.

Who cares about Monster Hunter 4?
I need Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus in my VEINS right now.

I'd prioritize it that way (and it wouldn't be a Frost NGS2+ post if I didn't say this...) providing they managed to get it running at a stable 60FPS. ;)

But seriously, I tried MH3FU or whatever on my Vita and it didn't really do much for me. Chalk that up to $10 wasted -- granted, my OCD wanted me to complete all the tutorials... but all combat felt wonky and I found myself wishing I was playing Demon's/Dark Souls instead.

Considering the silence on any remote play inquiries to anyone at SCE, it's safe to say we won't see anything until PS4 is released. The hope is that I can play PS4 games remotely through the Vita.

Even the console versions aren't a stable 60fps. The game's looking amazing considering the limitations of the hardware.

Whatever the consoles run at, it's close enough to 60fps without any remarkable slowdown that I remember, at least, in busy areas (*cough* bayonetta *cough*). Even if they pulled off something like God of War 3 where it's variable and hovers somewhere around 47fps or so, I'd probably be happy with it.

Looking at a Digital Foundry article comparing NGS2 to NG2, I don't think I saw the FPS drop below 48, most of the times it was in the 52 range. I'd be happy with that level of performance.
I mean, you can already tell where they cut out visuals to get it running, which is fine, I'm just saying if you watch that trailer... what I can't tell from the trailer is how the framerate is. :)

Again, I'd take the MK Vita 60fps in motion with downgraded visuals to get a solid 60fps for an action game. Everything would be moving fast enough that noticing the details would only really become apparent when the action slows.

PS3 allowed for all PS1 games to be remote played, so I expect all PS2 games to be remote playable on PS4.

I was mostly joking. :b
Except about me wanting NGS2+ more then it.

Well, hopefully your wish will be granted, considering that it's looking more and more like this game will be running at sub-native res.

Agreed there. As long as the framerate is more or less stable, I can deal with 30fps.

As others have said, we really have no idea, the details are purely known by Capcom and Nintendo.

Though, if you want a semi-plausible reason as to why we'd get a Monster Hunter on the Vita, well, as the quoted post by the Capcom guy says, Capcom believes getting Monster Hunter on a traditional console is key to making it a success in the west, and currently that means Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U. Now, as it would appear, the Wii U is not doing that great, and if that doesn't change, Monster Hunter won't either. So, if Capcom wants to try again, they're going to have to deal with Sony.

Also, in spite of NintedGAFs belief that all existing PSP Monster Hunter fans are ready to jump over to the 3DS with MH4, Capcom's own projections have it selling around 2 million. That's still less than half of the 4.7 million Monster Hunter 3rd Portable sold, suggesting the may not want to bet all their money on one horse.

What the fuck, Sony?

That's SCEA saying that, right? So we are looking at more than a couple of hours?

That was only for the launch period. And Capcom's recent Monster Hunter forecasts have always been modest anyway.

It's been true for most of the last 6+ years. Why do I not have dark cloud 3 by now and instead I keep getting shitty white knight games? Where is jeanne d'arc 2 instead of layton 16?

There's a rather simple answer to why we're not getting a Jeanne D'arc sequel ever:

gdcl503jpg-1.jpg

Of course Jeanne D'arc had the unfortunate live of being one of the better Level-5 games, yet the only Sony one to never be released in Europe. SCEA sending it to die like most of SCEJ's games didn't help the situation either.

I kind of get the feeling the WKC games may have been a contractual obligation Level-5 had with Sony. Like it was part of a three game deal (Deal 1: Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2, Rogue Galaxy, Deal 2: Jeanne D'Arc, White Kinght Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles 2) and when it came down to the WKC games Level-5 had already became a successful independent company and didn't want to put resources into an IP that wasn't their's. It would explain why Level-5 didn't return for the even worse PSP WKC spinoff. Of course, Sony not wanting the game to have a 3 year development cycle (this is how long it took for Level-5 to make the first LBX game on PSP, holy shit) may have had a hand in that.

you both are just jelly that layton is on the DS/3DS instead of vita :P

also so far the reception of ni no kuni is very positive, like possibly top jrpg of the HD generation positive o.O;

I've owned every platform that an English Level-5 game has been released on, and that includes the DS, and 3DS. The only English Level-5 franchise I've never played has been Inazuma Eleven. Incidentally, I've been playing Little Battlers eXperience W on Vita. It is a Level-5 game (+ Tri-Ace) and it's legitimately the worst big budget game I've played in a long while [Note: I did not play Resident Evil 6]. The battle system is insultingly simplistic, and the camera is something I've bemoaned about in this thread before.

As for Ni no Kuni, the western press has always given Level-5 good scores. Only game to get trashed were WKC. I believe it's because Level-5's games scream good production values.

One would hope if they can properly emulate the PS2 on the PS4 for local remote play.

There shouldn't be any limiting factors in fully emulating the PS2. The question now is if theyll include a cell/rsx chip in the PS4 to emulate PS3 and allow it to be remote played.

After reading the MH4 rumors (which have not penetrated my walls of salt), I've decided that I'd much rather have a game, made specifically for the system, by a developer that was willing to take a risk on the system, claim the title of "Vita Savior". I genuinely think that Soul Sacrifice is capable of doing this. Started playing the demo again. Man, I love this game!

Sup my Vitabros!

Just got an email today that I was in the top 10 of a Benelux competition for "Ultimate Playstation Gamer 2013". Finals are next Saturday in Belgium, if I win I get a(nother) Vita and a year of free PS3/Vita games! Imagine all the Vita games I could get!

So wish me luck! ;)
