speaking of which, that episode devoted entirely to Jack's tattoos was easily the worst episode of the entire show.
Then again, it's easily ignored. One could argue that makes it somewhat "harmless" compared to some important-yet-terrible episodes.

you've developed a knack for putting daggers in this show, but that is a very valid point. Though I can't say I ever thought an episode was completely terrible other than this one. A few mediocre here or there.

Can't tell if your joking or what. What are you viewing this on?

It's a joke. :P

But seriously is this is still on netflix? I've been watching with my amazon prime subscription but it expires tomorrow and I was thinking about getting netflix instead if it's still available on that to finish it off.

You bastard. You're especially obligated now to watch s.4 you need brownie points with me.

Ah, cool. I'm planning to up again, I just don't have the money right now. I couldn't remember how it was handled last time I let it lapse for a week or two. Thanks!

WAit have you seen the s3 finale yet? Cause it definitely isn't what I'd call resolution.

Yes, I watched it last night.
I was joking it was the end because they made the call and they're getting off the island. They're all going to be saved now, it's over!

I did this once, and then realized that if I won, loads of other people would too, and my share of the winnings would be smaller.

This made me mad, as I want my own millions!!

Pretty much, I remember an article saying how many people played those numbers during one drawing and it was a ridiculously high number.

Take a 8 month break between season 3 and season 4...for posterity. :P

Me and my GF watched all the episodes last year and while she watched every last season and enjoyed it all, I couldnt help but be a tad upset knowing that she'd missed out on the other half of the "experience".

The years waiting between seasons, the discussing theories with friends, pouring over screengrabs looking for clues, listening and waiting for the trailers and casting announcements, the comic-con speeches, the podcasts, holy hell, some of that was my favourite things about the show- i've never been as into a show as I was with LOST.

Would love to go back and do it all for the first time again.

That is why itll be hard to find a show to replace lost as my favorite. This show consumed me for 6 years.

Decided to rewatch the series again for the first time since they premiered. Did all of s01, and halfway through Orientation. I still can't stand Kate or Michael.

I couldn't commit to a full on rewatch but I was in a LOST mood so I decided to watch all the Desmond episodes(Catch 22 is ridiculously underrated btw). After that it only seemed right to plow through the Sawyer episodes. What I forgot is that "The Brig" starts what's probably the greatest run any show has ever had....Man Behind The Curtain > Greatest Hits > Through the Looking Glass > Season 4. A week later I had been reminded.

Season 5, as great as it is, was still better when you thought Locke had actually been resurrected. Teasing Locke Prime only to dump his rotting corpse on the beach remains a fucked up thing to do on so many levels.

And I haven't been able to stop listening to this?

I'd spoiler that because we have fresh watchers on the page. But that was my favorite twist and although season 4 is my top season, season 5 will always have a place because of the magnificent execution of that plotline.
Even though it makes no sense. We're told the dead don't come back to life but because we "know" Locke is special we convince ourselves and ignore all the inconsistancies in his character and so on. Hell I was sure he'd achieved some sort of Zen enlightenment because of his death. Such a well played Long Con. I loved it. Amazingly my ex guessed it wasn't him almost immediately when I sat down and went through it with her. She's sharp!

lol so true. Huge fakeout to the audience, making us think for an entire half season John Locke was the fuckin man with the plan who the island resurrected then completely fuckin over the fans by making it be a completely different character. The entire arc of John Locke is the biggest fuck up by the writers to one of televisions most interesting and original characters. This whole fake John Locke thing was a big reason why season 6 was so damn shit.

No way, the arc of John Locke is maybe the best thing the show did.
when he rolled out of that coffin at the end of season five, it was a massive twist but it also made perfect sense, he was interesting to me because he was a guy blinded by faith on and of the island and it got him killed but also he was kinda totally right about the island.

I've seen Lost in its entirety twice and I'm watching it for a third time with my girlfriend who has never seen any episdoes. So far we're half way into season 2 and she's loving it so far, despite thinking she would hate it (i had to convince her to watch it with me)

I never did understand
why there was a plug in the island. That implies someone intentionally put it there but when it is removed the island self-destructs so how could they have put it there in the first place? Maybe someone fucked up the island the first time around and ever since there has had to be a guardian to protect it.

That's the answer I'm going with.

I have no problem with Locke dying and for MIB to take over his corpse, despite Locke being my favourite character. It's the way they handled it that is the issue. They duped us out of experiencing Locke's death and feeling it's impact because all along we thought he had resurrected. One of the key characters got a shitty send-off for the sake of a twist which, admittedly, was shocking, but it denied us of having a grieving period and a punch-to-the-gut that Locke's death should have provided. By that point the moment had passed, and focus was entirely on the implications of the twist rather than "OMG, one of the shows most beloved characters is dead :(".

Think of it as a
prehistoric version of The Hatch

I like how the reveal of
Locke's corpse
made no fucking sense either.
So Ilana knew the other Locke was fake and actually the Ultimate Bad Guy but didn't do anything about it? And she put the corpse of the real Locke in that box because...?

C'mon, the show wasn't that bad.

It really didn't, no.
Reminds me that there was also that whole thing about how "dead is dead", in that season, never mind that girl who came back to life in Eko's flashback, a while before, or Sayid in the very next season. I know, I know, it's like I expect those guys to keep tabs on their own story...

he was interesting to me because he was a guy blinded by faith on and of the island and it got him killed
"What got him killed" was just Ben, in the end, really (remember how Ben had accepted Locke as his successor, in the previous season? yeah? well, please don't: the writers apparently couldn't think of another way to keep him on the show that to have him become super jealous once again).
And without Ben, it would have been the Oceanic 6 acting like douches just so he'd become suicidal.
Dat writing.

Season 4 of LOST is one of the best seasons on TV ever.
That's right, EVER!
The hyperbole is strong with that one.

You put much more thought into it than the writers ever did:
Damon Lindelof: [...] it seems like the golden light is much brighter in this episode here than it is in the finale, Carlton.
Carlton Cuse: Yes.
Damon Lindelof: If I were to have a theory that that apparatus we see in the finale with the stone sticking in the middle of the pool that's sort of blocking the light, maybe that apparatus wasn't created until after this event.
Carlton Cuse: I think that's an incredibly likely deduction, Damon.
Damon Lindelof: It's possible people went down there and basically...
Carlton Cuse: They built something.
Yeah, sure, for some reason, why not. And without dying or turning into smoke monsters, somehow.

Currently watching Lost again in its entirety with my girlfriend.

I've only ever watched it through once (when they first came out) so there is loads I forgot about.

Did they ever explain what the 'sickness' was?
Was it just Rousseau being crazy/paranoid?

Did they ever explain the whispering either?

Edit: Just checked Lostpedia and got answers to both of my questions.... Damn I've forgotten so much!
