Wii U Satisfaction Thread

I can sympathize with not wanting to pay that, especially if you have kids to look after. But on the other hand, if you're in a house with many others there's a lot to be said for having off screen play too, both for you and the kids. It's so damn useful I'd frankly rather have any of these games on the U than my PS3. At no point during Arkham City have I felt short changed for paying full price.

Absolutely. I love the fact that I can just pick up the Gamepad and dabble in a little Mario, even if I'm not a huge fan of it.

Now if the Wii mode wasn't this separate walled off portion and could be played on the Gamepad I'd probably use it a lot more.

This thread is hilarious - people with real issues get ignored/unanswered because the greater majority of fanboys wants to paint this shitbox as being a worthy gaming platform.

Mmm, bitter.

It's almost like this is a thread about enjoying the system instead of a technical support thread full of home networking experts.

But I'm sure you can read a thread title.

I have a real issue--

Does anyone know why my Nyko ethernet adapter isn't working when I plug it directly into my Cisco DPC3008 modem? Ethernet cable and modem I'm using work fine as I type this. I tried powercycling the modem and restarting the system with no success.

Otherwise I'm satisfied with my Wii U.

Gamepad only play really is a godsend for someone like me, having the ability to jump into games without hogging the tv is great. Im sure the wife would agree after I tied up the tv while completing ZombiU.

Ok, since I had mentioned I'd try it soon, I actually went on and hooked my original nintendo usb eth adapter to the WiiU, and for lack of a better test-case, I've been watching 720p youtube for the past 30 minutes. I cannot say I'm observing any difference from the time when the setup was going over wifi. I'll continue, though (boy, I didn't know there were so many 720p tv commercials on youtube!)

edit: 1h and still going.

How exactly do I do that?

Connect your router to one of your computer, visit your Router's IP adress and change the settings from there.

It should be under the Wireless Tab setting, and next to a "Standard Channel" Dropdown menu. I think the normal channel is usually Six.

Haha.

Pretty much the same here. Perfect "marriage console"

:P

I haven't completed a single Wii U game so far, FIFA is running in my hands 99% of the time. Off TV is a godsend for me too. Saw on french Nintendo Facebook today it's the favorite feature of Wii U owners, by an overwhelming majority.

Thanks, I will give that a shot. Right now it is working better and I got to download the ZombiU demo so we'll see if it keeps it going. Any word from Nintendo on if they plan on releasing third party apps such as Skype?

Had my Wii U since launch day in the UK. So far the console hasn't locked up, froze or disconnected from the internet so I guess I'm super lucky. Ever since I've bought the console I haven't even touched my 360/PS3, just the ability to pick up the gamepad and play a game without worrying about the family watching the TV is something I cant live without. Every-time I play a game on the gamepad, I find myself stopping sometimes and think about the fact that I've got a full console game in the palm of my hands. Its pretty crazy. I find myself wanting to pay more for a Wii U version of a port for this alone.

The gamepad is a very well crafted piece of kit. The screen on paper sounds archaic, but it actually looks really nice! Vivid, sharp, nice colors etc. The buttons are also perfect, one of the first controllers with a great D-pad makes NSMBU a joy to play.

I'm also a fan of the UI/Music etc in the operating system. Its nowhere near perfect, the speeds dont really bother me, but its very annoying at times. The fingerprint magnet of a controller annoys my OCD tendencies to no end, but I really like this console and I cant wait for more games/OS updates. I'm a believer of asymmetric gameplay and off TV play.

One more question, I put on a screen protector and there are a 5 or 6 spots where there is dust trapped in the damn thing... Will that cause a scratch or anything to the screen eventually or is it fine? Every screen protector I put on whether on 3ds, cell phone or the Wii U, I can't avoid the dust.. So basically, will my WiiU pad be fine with some annoying to see dust bubbles?
That would take a miracle.

Why's that? Nintendo doesn't negotiate with terrorists? ;)

Could you go into more detail please?

he gave us enough details, the WiiU is not a worthy gaming platform. It is just hilarious that there are people actually enjoying the system.

For me personally, the WiiU is my main gaming platform since launch. My 360 is only used to play Fifa 13, although based on the demo the WiiU version is for me actually superior, but I will not buy FIfa 2 times in a year, so Fifa 14 on WiiU it is

I am in love with my Wii U, however last night I went to open my window, slipped and fall back into my futon. I crushed the screen and completely ruined the controller. :(

I'm such an idiot. I called Nintendo and they are willing to repair/replace it for 100 bucks.

SIGH!

This should be bannable.

Thread whining?

I guess everybody is entitled to thier opinion depending on who is watching around here lol.

Anyway,

I have had an awesome time with my Wii U and I've had it since launch. Had some hardlocks but I am fromthe NES days so dealing with issues isthe norm for me.

You sound like the Wii U stole your wife. You do realize its a Wii U satisfaction thread right? It is what It is my friend so you may want to be careful.

And I think i will pick up Ken's Rage 2 when it launches, I already have Batman DD and have no problems with it.

I've had my system from launch. Outside of a few locks I love it.

I've bought 9 games so far i believe, and enjoyed all except ACIII.

My only problem is my left stick seems to be breaking down :[

We can talk about the No off tv no Sale thing here.

The Cave for Wii U can still be patched months from now because Double Fine just did not have the time maybe it is something they can do since these are Free patches after all.

I'm really happy with Off TV but I don't use it as much, not until I get that new battery that extends the life of this gamepad

Played Batman AC for five hours now; it's good. Except for one framerate stutter, I haven't seen any technical issues (or some cynical bastard would say I don't want to see them) whatsoever. Cool beans. Game is huge though, I'm not collecting all those the Riddler trophies.

Btw, gamepad only mode on this thing is AWESOME. Neat function.

Recently I've noticed that I never play a game for more then 3 hours at a time max so luckily I've never had an issue with the battery on my 3DS/Wii U. I used to be able to play for much longer, guess that's what happens when you get older :(

are you playing Batman AC in 720P?

check the OT thread I made, I need to get back to it but I have been bouncing all over my backlog

It had to be done.

this is not helping keep this thread from being locked just ignore that shit, there have been enough negative Wii U threads that anyone who feels the same can go post in, after all this thread was created because of the Wii U buyer's remorse thread.

I wish I had a life lol

but yeah I never unplug my 3DS for long and I keep my Wii U gamepad wired as well while playing so I just use both of them plugged in.

Is their a way i can see how many people are playing a particular game online?
I've read that Black Ops 2 has around 1500-3000 people playing online at any given time but need numbers on other games like Tekken.

I do wish all games could have off-screen play. It really has become the killer feature of this console for me. I'll have to play this ZombiU demo to see what all the hype is about now for interactive gamepad uses.

To be honest, the idea of a "I'm enjoying my WiiU, I swear!" thread is kinda funny.

If that's what people were doing here. I doubt anyone here are here to lie to themselves. There were several Wii U dissatisfied threads, they could easily post in those.

I think more or less people who love Off TV play need to hope that Sony or MS copies this feature then when we have games like The Cave that is coming out of every single thing the dev bothers to write that single line of code required for the Wii U. Not doing it is just LAZY to the max.

Damn that sucks, repair shouldn't cost that much imo. I know the controllers are expensive, but still.

Wait...The Cave has off-screen play?

That's fine...I guess. It's stupid, but I really want to use the pro controller -haven't had the chance to play anything with it.
Trine 2 is due a patch for the pro controller.
I have tekken and sonic racing which support it.

Crazy NSMBU isn't compatible.

If I want to play the cave I'll have to play it in er..... My cave I suppose. No cross toilet play for me.

No, that is the lazy I was talking about. The Cave does not use any Wii U features worth a damn so they could have added that simple line of code

maybe it will be patched later, I doubt they will care unless Wii U version is the top seller which I highly doubt would happen

I think it's because some levels require tilt controls

If it sells well enough (or the community outcry is high enough), I can see them patching it in.

I think the poster was meaning the pro controller as in the Xbox type pad.
I was, but Hattori's point make sense.
