Any info on how many points those Vergil achievements will translate into?
Looks around 3-400 if they're around the same values as DmC.

Charge
I spent some time in the ps3 demo with D-pad down as charge and it was much more comfortable than the default control scheme or right/left bumper. Mapping it to bumper made dodging and grappling feel awkward and square was so uncomfortable that I never charged
I usually charge in the air where there is little movement of the left analog stick.
feels good
No offense, but to me, it always feels weird when I see folks with DualShock-preference talk about their dislike of using triggers. Every time I read something like that, I am glad that I never got too used to that DualShock, as far as trigger preferences go - even when I played on PS2 only for quite a few years.
What the hell is wrong with people? I mean, even as a joke, this is just bullshit.
"Hardcore gamers" are probably the most entitled bunch on the face of the planet.
You think petitioning the White House to have the game pulled from shelves (presuming it's not a joke, but even then...) because you don't like it is in any way reasonable commentary on the direction the series has taken? After supporting the DMC franchise through 4 games, one of which was horrendous, I think they're allowed to comment on the direction the series has been taken.
Another thing that i thought was really bad idea.
Colour coded enemies = bad idea (severely limits your move set)
No hard lock = bad idea
both of them together, so stupid. I dunno how they thought this was a good choice.

Were you relying on Rebellion? Don't use Rebellion too much. Stick close, Demon Dodge, and Trinity Smash. He can also be grappled from behind after attacks (Or maybe any time, if you can manage to get behind without him facing you.)
He chewed me up on my first attempt, but then I SSS ranked him without difficulty.
The way it was written it's more likely people trolling OG DMC fans...
Neither of these things, in and of themselves, is a bad idea. It just depends on how they're implemented.
Color coded enemies add a layer of strategy to encounters and punish button mashing.
As for lock on, I don't miss it in games like Bayonetta but I'm not sure I could have gotten through Demon's or Dark Souls without it.

We're firmly in Poe's Law territory with DmC so it doesn't really matter.
So Dahbomb, did you end up finding the post about your hypothetical Nero system?![]()
Nero's system will also be revamped accordingly. D-Pad changes the Devil Arm (like Yamato that Nero has inside him). Changing the Devil Arm changes the Devil Trigger attacks as well as the O/Devil Bringer button as well as the special moves associated with it and the buffs that the firearms get (like different types Summoned Swords). The unmapped button of R2 gets a new set up that can be swapped ala Bayonetta. Pressing R2 not only changes your current EX weapon but also your firearm so you get to have 4 weapons at once. The new EX weapons will have it's own timing based system that gives its own types of boosts (like an electrical weapon will get Amp charges collected and then discharge as EX moves). New firearm will also have charge moves in 3 different levels along with whatever extra move can be accommodated. You will have 6 Firearms and 6 EX Arms to choose from as well as 8 different Devil arms.
That was a TL;DR version of it, I couldn't find the big write up of it. Also charges are saved in between EX weapons so even if you swap out, the weapon you swap out maintains its charge and you can use it when you swap it in.
Anybody gotten their key from GMG yet?
I am doing DMD mode right now and I am finding it pretty easy. Maybe it is because I have already taken my licks on SoS so I can deal with Dreamrunners and Rages alot better than before.

Today marks over a week since the game's release. The entire DMC community:

I have half a mind to get the PC version in a few days and at least put out some basic tech videos myself. This is getting embarrassing.
Colored Rages would probably be the most difficulty configuration in the game if it weren't for Round Trip. Being able to essentially remove one of them from play with that move makes the fight much easier than it should be.

Again, they're probably waiting for PC version.
God, I hate combination Rages. I think there's an Argent door, IIRC, that has you dealing with combination Rages and a Witch on top of them. Shit, that was annoying.

Wow an article on the whole DmC fanbase situation that does not actually attack the fanbase!

Basically how the whole being upset with a game's direction or not liking it equals being "entitled". I have seen that word thrown around so much that it has lost all meaning.
But its good to criticize and to complain when it comes to video games, television, film, and any other thing which we consume for personal enjoyment. Thats how you get your point out there. Its not good to do it by issuing death threats, of course, or by attacking the messengera much more common fallacy gamers tend to resort to. And of course some people will complain about everything and rarely offer up solutions. Misery loves company, or something like that.
My advice? Make your arguments solid. Make them more solid than your opponents arguments. Your arguments should be rocks to their scissors. Utilize data whenever possible, and avoid logical fallacies at all costs.
Or maybe they don't want or care about the game.
Erik Kain. One of the only few remaining game journalists worth their salt. And he's making other journalists mad with his legitness.

Capcom should really tell these media types that Dante no longer looks like a heroin addict.Wow an article on the whole DmC fanbase situation that does not actually attack the fanbase!

Actually I'm really not sure I agree with the premise that a disappointing sequel can negate the quality of what came before. Even with the most egregious example of a drop in quality, Star Wars, I don't find myself enjoying the first films any less. It seems a really odd thing to argue. That's a nice article. I do agree with much of it, but I still maintain that the reaction towards this game in particular is far more malicious and venomous, and goes way beyond simply being critical.
