No, okay, but seriously, as awful as the first ten episodes of Eureka Seven are, they've been washed away by this one damn episode. All I want is for Renton to just ride off with Charles and Ray and be in a happy family forever. Screw Holland and Talho and Eureka and the Nirvash. Screw whatever Holland's destiny was or was not. Forget Dewey and Anemone.
If Renton could just fly off into the sunset with his new mommy and daddy, it could've been so . . . peaceful. But man, when Ray starts crying I just . . . all my feels man.

When you're done go buy the two OSTs, because they're fantastic. When you're done watching the series, spent a couple minutes on wiki, you'll see how crammed full of music references it is.
I think it's fun myself, but that's why I'm studying what I am.
Just so you know, episode 26 is probably one of my favorite episodes of television anime ever. Much of the character development that has been meticulously building up for the entire first half of the show is about to pay off in a big way, all wrapped around unbelievable production values and a fanfuckingtastic soundtrack. Everything simply clicked perfectly for me and it has pretty much stayed with me ever since.
Your mileage may vary, of course.

What a terrible list. Why does this list not have the legit most popular kids anime in Sazae-san or even Chibi Maruko or Doraemon?
None of them are ever coming to the West because of a) money; and b) culture.
Time to make wonzo's day: the first season of Kingdom ends on February 25... but the second season starts in June!
Ooo, I really enjoyed the first season. Definitely lot more characters to introduce as you go on.

I've been thinking about Maria-sama lately...
The show is on the seventh month of its 24 months hiatus for me (before I give it another good watch through) so I'm looking for a series with a similar older sister figure like Sachiko and I seriously can't even think of a show that even comes close. There's Strawberry Panic but I'm looking for a role model figure rather than horn-dog interaction.
Anyone have any recommendations? I'd like a series rather than a movie. A wholesome relationship between the older sister and younger is highly desired but something that starts of twisted like Ace wo Nerae or Brother Dear Brother are also welcomed.

- Are the people who made it embarrassed are proud of their work?

Well... this makes no sense unless they animate the end of Genshiken first. I suppose technically that can just exposition away the ending since the only character that matters from the original is Madarame, but still.
That said, I've felt that this version of Genshiken is much more... I dunno, exploitative or pandery than the original. The original was a celebration, sure, but tempered with reality, whether in the form of the sardonic Saki or just with the entire Sasahara arc where he graduates and has to deal with moving on.
The sequel on the other hand has Madarame almost wallowing at the club. The developments in the latest chapter aren't all that encouraging. I guess we'll see how it goes, but it just feels like a cash-in... especially with the popularity of otaku-bait reference porn shows nowadays.

Aria is basically the perfect example. In fact, you also have three pairs of sempai/kohai relationships to go through, not counting the sempai/kohai relationships found within the main trio.
Also, Otoboku... if you ignore the fact that the older girl is actually a guy.

Don't get me wrong... I [REALLY] love Aria but I think it suffers from the fact that it has three pairs. And the vignettes often have little to do with interactions between older and younger sisters (or at least not often enough).

I fear I came off ungrateful and I thank you for the suggestion and you are right recommending it. Each pair relationship does have the element of what I'm looking for. I just realized, having seen many of the seasons, that I loved Aria for totally different reasons and never got a strong feeling of sisterhood from it. I swear I didn't mean to come of trite.
Right. Hopefully they don't have too many that the sisters screentime suffers.
Looking over at MAL it seems like they dropped the ball with S2, but improved a bit after that.

Well, the Rose Council is also three pairs... and it's not like Yumi spends all her time with Sachiko anyway.
And there are quite a few episodes where Alicia hangs out with each of the girls, not to mention when the pairs break off and do their own stories.

So, they're officially bringing MLP:FiM to Japan. What makes this worth posting in the anime thread, besides the fact that half of you watch the show anyway? The fact that four of the main characters are being voiced by the four main Milky Holmes seiyuu.

I believe this was posted in the last thread as a barometer of how far we can fall. Once we see kayos posting about his trips to see the sad panda we will know we've hit rock bottom.

Funny enough, that's when Sachiko really took off as a memorable character for me.

Otoboku, Strawberry Egg and You`re Under Arrest! (as much as I love all three shows) are some of the worst offenders. I guess You`re Under Arrest! can get a pass but the other two have no excuse!firehawk12
