Even the ones that are legit are tagged with a special ribbon, which will signal they're not 'legit'. You can use Pokecheck for breeding down IVs / Abilities though. Just don't plan on downloading an entire team and then running into a tournament with them.

You can also download the pkm files and edit them in Pokegen. You can bypass the ribbon issue that way and they may pass hack check. But I wouldn't recommend it.

Oh, I see. Thanks. So we can't use them on tournaments, huh? In game is enough for me.

I'm pretty sure you can use the Pokecheck Pokemon in the ingame PWT.

As for real-life tournaments, technically you can. However, only if you download a Pokemon that's clearly not hacked (Pokecheck has their own mini-hack checker, it's available at the bottom of the screen on any given Pokemon page). I've been told that "legit clones" are also legal in tournament environments since the hack checker doesn't check much.

However, I still wouldn't use Pokecheck in a tournament environment if you care about the ethics of using clones or edited Pokemon/ don't want to risk it.

Yes, there is no hack checking in-game for Battle Subway, or PWT.

OH

that's right. A savvy hack-checker would notice the premier ribbon and instantly DQ you, so I wouldn't bother.

I don't really care about Real-world tournaments, since I live in a place where people don't play the games/no real-tournaments.
I just want to be sure my save-file won't get blacklisted or something like that, while getting these pokemons that I can't get because the events/promotions are over now.

Haha. No, you'll be fine. No blacklisting of games.

Hydreigon, bro.

This guy has earned my love thanks to this thread though:

I think Gen V was the best one at making cool Pokémon. Braviary is cool but it's like he doesn't stand out at all.

Oh that's bullcrap.

Lucario looks like someone decided to stick every single thing they thought it looked cool and edgy in a Pokémon while simultaneously making a Sonic friend. Kyurem Black and Kyurem White actually look underdesigned compared to him, and they look like Digimons so they got another cool point.

Fuck you Lucario, you don't deserve your Steel typing.

I didn't know that it was possible to be this wrong.

And Pinsir fucking sucks

Adamant Delibird with Hustle holding Choice Band, neutral natures for defenders.

Brick Break vs 252 HP / 0 Def Tyranitar 95.05% to 112.87% HP damage
Ice Shard vs 4 HP / 0 Def Garchomp 98.88% to 117.32% HP damage
Seed Bomb vs 252 HP / 0 Def Swampert 109.9% to 129.7% HP damage
Aerial Ace vs 4 HP / 0 Def Heracross 212.58% to 250.33% HP damage

holy shit damn.

I was a hipster and used Fearow.

them freaking hipsters, how do they work?

I just evolved my magikarp in FireRed. Gyarados is so boss.

You screwed up. Now you can't take advantage of dat blistering 80 base Speed w/ Swift Swim.

Last time I'll ask: What's the difference between legit and legal pokemon?
Do duplicated pokemon (like, pokemon gotten by pokecheck or made in Pokegen) count as legit/legal? Same for Event Pokemons (gotten from http://projectpokemon.org/events/).

Pokemon generated in Pokegen can be used online with no problems if they are made right (I don't know if they are legit/legal yet)?

I don't think PID generation has been completely figured out for Gen V, though the game and the basic hack checker they use for wi-fi battles won't be able to tell the difference as long as you don't make something insane.

Perfect IVs, legal moveset, legitimate ability and <510 EVs and pretty much anything will fly.

Legit and Legal are pretty much the same thing.
Well, they do carry different meanings, which are useful for trading/battling.

Legal means that the Pokemon has stats, moves, natures, etc. that are consistent with it being caught in a specific location, at a specific time, under a specific condition, or bred under XYZ circumstance - that is, it looks like it has been caught/bred. Clones are legal, for example. RNG'd pokes are legal also. Pokemon with undistributed Hidden Abilities are illegal, even if the spread is good. Pokemon with distributed Hidden Abilities which are female can be illegal if all the ones that have the HA are distributed as male.

Legit is similar to legal, except the Pokemon was actually "caught"/bred in some way. This is desirable if, say, you wanted a certain Keldeo that was actually obtained from a Mystery Event, or a TRU Dragonite that was gotten when the event was going on, and not just duped. Legit is a subset of legal. RNG'd pokes are legit (though you'd be hard-pressed taking your Garchomp caught in 2026 into a tournament, I'm guessing). Pokemon distributed from dumps of distro carts are in a similar grey area, depending on how you look at it. Clones of legit pokes are legal, but not really legit themselves, but you may or may not care, depending on what sort of collector/breeder/battler you are.

Haven't checked out this thread in a couple days but has anyone seen these freaking adorable plush toys of the Substitute dolls in the games? I can't believe it's taken them this long to make one. Apparently, they're on sale now at the Pokemon Centers in Japan. T_T It's time like this that makes me want to live in Japan.

There are a bunch of other toys and stuff at this link http://pokemonblackandwhite.net/?p=10671

Ahh thanks :3

Maybe I'll try doing it as well. Could you guys post all of the animated Chespin art? I recall a walking one, etc.
