I'm clumsy enough that trying to change under a towel would just take longer than just doing it out in the open. Then again, I have no issues being naked in front of people for the most part anyway (depending on the situation obviously). I do cover up when walking between my locker and the showers if I'm going to shower at the gym (that's usually during the winter though or if I'm heading somewhere other than home afterwards). However, I just hold the towel in front of me, I don't wrap it around me when doing that. I'm going to go shower, for crying out loud, why would I wrap the towel I'm going to use to dry myself around me and get sweat all over it that I'm going to the shower to rinse off?
 
We always showered nude after playing football. I only mind being nude when I'm in a country with different customs.
 
Totally uncomfortable even if I'm just with friends. Football (soccer lol) was such a pain because of the changing rooms.. Also, everytime I see someone naked I can't help but imagine him naked every damn time for a couple of months.
 
I do it at the gym all the time. I make an effort to do it quickly, but as others have said, trying to do it under a towel would probably mean tripping all over the towel and making a fool out of myself.
 
I'm not comfortable changing nude. Just ain't, even played sports too (Track, basketball) where you'd always have to deal with it. I'd just quickly change by turning my back to other personas. When I go to the gym to shower and change I do the same thing. It's far easier to turn my back then it is to wrap a towel around me and fumble with it.

I understand that reality making self-consciousness go into overdrive, but what stranger would ever take such a picture when there are more taint pictures with better lighting on the internet than one person could ever see in their lifetime?

Probably creepos, now that I think about it, and that's a good a reason as any to leave the towel on.
 
Ironically I never let my junk hang out until I was 19 at the Mormon Missionary Training Center, which is sorta like Jesus Camp meets Hogwarts. There the showers were in the big open bathrooms with three large pillars with five shower heads on each. Math tells me that's 15 naked men at a time, not counting those waiting on the side. After the first day of showering in that environment I stopped giving any fucks about being naked in front of people. If I'm in a male locker room now, I just don't care. There was a guy in our bunk that would never take a shower in there though. He'd just wash himself at a sink. He fucking stunk so bad.

I've heard they have since changed the showers to private stalls, probably due to concerns about tempting in-the-closet gay missionaries. Or, as they would put it, missionaries "struggling with same-sex attraction."
 
I give no fucks. I used to play a sport in college, so you don't care after a while. But I'm not going to be walking about naked or getting on the scale naked.
 
Under a towel, seriously people do that at locker rooms? I only did that at army when I had to change in our dorm with 7 other guys watching TV right next to me and our door wide open for the whole platoon to walk in at any given moment.

You have to realise that nudity in itself isn't provocative, sauna is very non-sexual environment. Yes men and women go to sauna together nude here regularly, but other than the nudity the setting isn't much different from other every day situations and the interaction between people stays the same. And besides, you get a glimpse of regular human anatomy and how varied it is, we all have our flaws and it's perfectly acceptable. Hot or not, nudity is a great equalizer. Getting a boner is not acceptable.

Also, you can get a oner even if your clother are one depending on the situation (flirting provocatively with someone you fancy for example). Why do the clothes matter anyway? If you fancy someone, does it matter if they're clothed or nude?

As a queer male, I can confidently state that a locker room filled with shrinkage and water-wrinkled bits are by and large the last place for anime nosebleeds, despite what porn may say otherwise.

But then I do see the recipe for all kinds of disaster a co-ed locker room would create, so go figure.
 
Doesn't bother me at all. Once went in to put shit in a locker and a naked football team was conversing and bantering.

Oh yeah, I wouldn't assume you agreed.

But I too can completely understand the Mormon institution being especially sensitive to the 0.000001% chance that two boys would somehow go at it while the rest of the room just watches. Ironically, privacy stalls seem like they would make that... "easier."
 
This is the thread where you find out who played sports in high school and who did not.

I cannot imagine anyone who has played a team-based sport at least through high school that has a problem getting naked around anyone. Lacrosse, hockey, football, basketball, wrestling, all of the above pretty much require you to shower after practice or a game. Who seriously wants to wait until they get home? Gross.

Hell, even after gym class most people who are at least somewhat comfortable with their bodies will shower. I can't help but feel that if you are that uncomfortable with showing your skin around a large group of people who are already naked or practically naked, that there must be something wrong.

Oh well. That's just my opinion.
 
I swam and was on a basketball team in high school, it wasn't a problem growing up. But now that I'm a man I do have a concern. I'm...a grower basically. And I've been concerned that someone might see me in the showers naked and forever think I have a small dick. I've often thought about casually popping a quick boner just to show I'm actually 8 inches.

On one hand it's not like I'm trying to attract dudes. But on the other hand I don't want them thinking I'm useless
 
I don't go to too many lengths to cover up while changing, but don't linger in a naked state and walk around like old men for as long as possible naked. I dunno, as a kid, I was always a waterskier and wakeboarder, so it didn't really matter much as we were always changing from wet to dry or whatever. I remember changing behind the suburban a lot of times with the passenger door ajar just so I wasn't changing right in front of everyone, but I dunno, I don't really care... even with girls around... people have 1 of 2 set ups... there isn't a crazy amount of difference.
 
It's not a big deal to me....hell we had open showers in college...and reporters (all male at the time) were always chasing us down right after said showers...

Why I have never and will never like are the urinal peepers...now I don't know if it's a black.thing or my luck but I catch dudes looking all the time. Makes for extremely weird eye contact moments.

I also do not like they "hey full frontal" guy who feels the need to chat you up while his belly and junk jiggle in yoir general direction (OP is this guy, for sure)...

I live in the state of hockey. I played sports from the age of 5 to now, where I play lacrosse in college.

I can comfortably say that in my 15 years of sports, playing on a dozen different teams, playing with hundreds of guys and becoming friends with hundreds of more, that soggy biscuit and similar initiations simply do not happen.

The worst I have heard is forcing the freshman to play naked leap-frog.

Some of it is simply trying to whack another dude's balls. If that. Sometimes you'll get a pair of guys who want to wrestle/fight and just happen to be recently out of the shower or about to go in. A lot of the time, if it is anything at all, it's trying to force another guy to look at your dick or asshole.

Soggy biscuit really does not happen and please do not believe the guys who are just trying to give guys who play sports a bad name. It's embarrassing to see people that gullible.
 
I'll wrap a towel normally to take off/put on underwear in a locker room.

What's weird to me is old dudes sitting bare ass naked on the benches rubbing lotions and oils on their skin like they're fucking extras in Spartacus.
 
Maybe they are ashamed of their small penis. Why not respect that? They would probably like nothing more than be secure enough to whip it out too.
Or they are disgusted with other naked boddies near them.. Why care?

But damn some of them old men just don't give a fuck.

There's no reason for you to be walking around naked for 20 or so min before getting dressed.
 
I don't like it, specially when kids are in there. I just know one of those shits is going to scream to mom "Mommy that man showed me his penis". It's why I never get naked in public, ever. I don't want to go to jail, besides I'm too insecure to get naked.

In HS we used to have to shower after afternoon Gym, and these 2 guys used to go around measuring dick size and bullied the smaller ones. Also we had games where we would grab each others dicks and yank on it hard (not sexually, it was very rough, they squeezed hard to cause damage and pulled hard) or get a towel and whip the balls. It hurt like fucking hell.

Coach used to take showers with us because we kept grabbing each others dicks and causing harm to each other, and inevitably someone would get hurt or get into a fight. Whenever we did anything stupid, he went ballistic. It's rather frightening seeing your 46 year old body builder coach nude and red with anger.

Btw we were all legal at the time, so he wasn't getting nude with kids.

We also had the womens locker room nearby. Our showers were located next to theres, and the walls were paper thin, and there was opening at the top. rarely we got to look in on the changing girls. Not once did they ever use the showers. We never saw nudity.

Most awkward moment of my life was walking into the men's changing tent after a marathon in korea without a single divider and just hundreds of naked men who didn't give a fuck
