Alright gaf which of these is better?

DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
DISSIDIA DUODECIM PROLOGUS FINAL FANTASY (PSP)
DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY (PSP)

Noob question. Which ones were the SNES games that were renumbered? They were 3 and 4 on the SNES, right? I'll revisit them for 5 bucks a pop.

I seem to recall something about slowdown in some of these games. Is that true/which games does this apply to?

The PS1 ports of FFV and FFVI (plus War of the Lions when it comes to spell animations but there's a CFW fix for that)

Prologus is a paid demo that grants you of two features once you've got the definitive version, 012, those being Aerith and an Elixir pack.

Anyone know if the US version of FFV is Vita compatible yet?
It still isn't showing up the store, but maybe through PS3 transfer? Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but the EU version works.

After you clear the main story of 012 you can play a better version of the first Dissidia in it, rendering the first game useless at this point.

Well, now seems like a good time to grab one of these. Never owned a play station.

Are any of them action RPGs? Also, I live customizing players, stats, abilities, etc. any recommendations?

Coolio. Was thinking about grabbing FF9, so I'm glad to see that isn't part of the list. Might grab 8 and 7 and omgmightaswellbuythemall!

I kind want to pick up Dissidia 012 and all of the mainline games in spite of load times(though I'm kinda iffy on IV since I have the DS version) but why isn't III on sale?

None of the mainline games here are action RPGs, as in you don't control your characters movements in battle and pick options from a list. Dissidia is different, but it's more a fighting game with RPG elements. Perhaps look into Dissidia 012.

I've never played a Final Fantasy game before, aside from 12.

So, if I were to pick up any 2 or 3 of these games (that are PS3 compatible, so not Dissidia or War of the Lions) which FFs would you guys suggest?

VII and IX. VIII is the one you get to actually play in the least out of those three.

VII, VIII and IX.

I'd recommend VI too, but the PSone version is horrible.

People, this is your last chance (for a while) to sell me on VIII and IX. I know very little about either game. I tried to play the PC version of VIII once a few years ago and nearly fell asleep during the tutorial on GMs.

I'm not sure why I'd care enough to sell you on either.

Also IX is the nastiest looking PS game ever made.

6 definitely and then 7 and 9 unless you want to play the first two.

Hmm ok thanks. I probably still pick at least one up, I am overdue to try these anyways.

Does FFV work on the Vita yet?

Yes.

She was only missing IV and V, but they do work.

Definitely picking up FFIX now.

Thanks guys. Looks like I'm probably going to go with VII and IX since I've heard positive things about both of those games.

Perhaps VI and VIII as well, but I have to look into both of them a bit more first.

The ps blog needs to start linking their games they talk about to the web store. It's amateur hour over there.

Can't be bothered to sell you on it. If you don't want to even take a chance, a small chance too at only $5 a pop, at two of the most critically acclaimed games on the PS1 then that's on you!

I hear VIII has been very divisive though, and I had kind of a hard time coming to grips with the PC version, but that was probably over 10 years ago.

I must say that sony entertainment network website is snazzy and easy to use.

I owned VII for a while but never really played it much so I think I'm going to get that for sure. Then maybe VIII or IX. And I might just bite the bullet and buy VI even though it's not really that good. I don't want to pay $40+ for the GBA version.

I'd go with 7/8 over 7/9. 8 has a certain creative energy coming off of 7 that 9 lacks, and some classic moments. 9 gets a lot of love for its throwback concept alone, but its not a very notable or memorable installment in the series IMO.

You don't have to IMO that one because it's true. IX was a great tribute to old-school FFs, but that's all what it was.
