50% off select Final Fantasy titles on North American PSN

Sweet, I'm glad I held off on buying IX. I'm still not ready to replay it (again) yet, but when the PS1 classics finally worked on Vita, I was anxious to buy it to see how good it looked on the Vita.

Finally a sale on Duodecim, full on with playable badass of the FF series: Jecht! I'll be picking it up, with IV:CC and VI. Vita here i come.

The Duodecim Prologue, does it make Aerith a playable character, or just an assist?

Yep. Dissidia is pretty much a pick & drop, short and sweet.

It was one of my favorite ever Imports. I remember being a mod in some Dissidia forum forgot which one though cause I haven't logged on for years and there have been many Dissidia sites since then. It was pretty great.

Not sure you saw my earlier post but what setting did you use for Duodecim in that YouTube video on vita?

:o

http://www.dissidiaforums.com/ ?

There had been a third one (CounterBurst) which was DF's splinter site, yet it has been shut down in August 2011.

Not the guy who made that video.

Nice. I think I'll get:

FFVI - since it's a classic
FFVII - maybe it's not exactly a classic, but it's the most-remembered entry in the series
FFIX - I seem to remember that it was well-reviewed.

Pass:
FFVIII - I seem to remember that people hate the battle system.. something about "drawing"?

The battle system was the best part...besides the soundtrack at least. It's the story that was a mess.

If you haven't played FFVII, FFVIII or FFIX then you should just get them all really, who cares what people say just try it for yourself.

The battle system of VIII is the most customizable of them all. You can alter your stats individually as well as gaining abilities in an esper/materia sort of way (GF's). You can become as powerful as you want to be early in the game.

The story is always a mess in Final Fantasy games.

As a fellow FF-Gaf bretheren you should be ASHAMED of yourself for not having it already >:(

@Narolf what are those settings for Duodecim? It doesn't look that good like the video on my vita ;__;

I didn't pick it up because I finished the game on my PS1 more than 5x already. :p

Unlike VII and VIII. I finished them once and never till I got them on PSN, respectively.

No it was empowered. And I WASN'T a mod. I was a warrior of Cosmos. I thought I was a mod lol OMG I logged in it worked. It's been YEARS freaking hell the memories.

It's Soul899er (my username)

Empowered is where I started as well, until Rei told everyone we were better off moving to DissidiaForums... until circumstances brought the community to NeoGAF, a few weeks ago.

Oh.

Take EVERYTHING back. :p I should have never ever doubted the almighty Ultros tbh

OMG Rei.. How is he doing. I feel like a stranger I didn't know they moved.

Got promoted to mod over at DissidiaForums in December 2009, asked to get revoked (in private) one year after, he is now retired from Dissidia and off to the army. He still pops in the community IRC (#DDFFCasual) I've mentioned a few pages back now and then.

Just checked and nope. Can't download it from the store or transfer it via PS3. :(

Yeah, that's what Kagari said as well while posting the screen-shot I've linked to a few pages ago. Thought that was just a problem of hers.

Awesome sale. Any guess as to whether they'll ever make the FF1 + 2 PSP Anniversary Editions available on the NA store?

OMG I had him on my PSN since 08 and he didnt like on for like a year or two at one point so I deleted him. I never knew. :( that explains it

Deja vu... didn't they have this exact same sale around the time the Vita came out? Or am I just imagining it?

Yes this is another FF sale

He joined the army once DissidiaForums' splinter forum got shot down since he was one of its three administrators, in September 2011.

US PSN FFV still doesn't work on the Vita. You would think this would be a great moment for SCEA to fix this, but yeah, this is SCEA.

Also:

FFIV = FFV = FFVI = FFVII = FFVIII = FFIX = FFX = FFXII = all awesome!

Question:

are those PS1 versions of FFI and FFII better or worse than those (too) clean looking PSP versions?

Ah shit I was gonna get V and VIII.

How does the PS1 version of VI hold up? I've only played it on snes back in the day, hopefully it isn't as bad of a port as the PS1 version of CT?
