How does the PS1 version of VI hold up? I've only played it on snes back in the day, hopefully it isn't as bad of a port as the PS1 version of CT?

Slow loading times and transitions, but if you've got tolerance for a slightly longer wait of each, it's perfectly fine.

Well there is loading but you'll get used to it. V is better in this regard than VI, but they have made a little transition fade out animation in both games when you have a random encounter so it feels a little more natural. It is a bit like the PS1 games where there is also loading when commencing a battle. Although IX is pretty bad in that regard.

Can someone elaborate on this please?

Thanks.
Dissidia 012's solo mode is an extension of Dissidia's. All story's chapters of the former can be retrieved in enhanced incarnations in the latter. However, they do not have the same meta-game, meaning that if you want to get actually serious about the series and play it competitively on Adhoc Party, you should get both; even though pretty much everyone, their brother and their dog play Dissidia 012 yet.

Just checked and nope. Can't download it from the store or transfer it via PS3. :(

Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions was a freebie a few weeks ago. I believe one of the PS1 titles was also free early last year.
EDIT: Ironically, FFV was that PS+ freebie...

For US? How did I miss that.

Does FF6 benefit from the fast disc load speed option on Vita?

If I were to get it tomorrow, I would be playing it on the Vita, and if the load times are still as bad as people are making it out to be, I just might wait for the inevitable Square RE-release.

Thanks. I won't be playing multiplayer as I won't have time to add another game on the multiplayer list, but I loved the single player.

So, do the old characters have new storylines + old storylines, or is it just the old ones rehashed?

Is the lag for FFVI just upon starting a battle and opening up the menu and stuff? And not during battles themselves? Also nothing was done to the music right? I'm thinking for $5 I can put up with some lag.

Anytime.

They make brief appearances in the new story-lines, but that's as far as it goes, said story-lines remaining focused on the new characters. Apart from that, it's only the old ones getting rehashed.

Dont deny yourself, it really is a great system.
I want one, but I can't justify it when I already have 10+ games sitting in my backlog. I'm going to wait till after E3.

Nope.

Here's the thing, if you can deal with a 4-second transition between the menu and the actual game and the battle, then you're fine.

It doesn't on the Vita, and the load times aren't game ruining, it's just X amount of seconds slower during most transitions (like a couple).

It's not lag, it's loading times. So accessing the main menu has it, as well as entering and leaving battles. Mostly transitory stuff, but it's not that bad.

You're making it very hard for me to only spend $15 instead of $25 tomorrow.

Guys, just pretend these are the only versions of FFV and FFVI and think of the loading times of FFVII, FFVIII and FFIX and you'll be fine! Especially when you think of the fact that the sound and music isn't butchered like those GBA versions.

Here is hoping they will at last fix FFV for the Vita, especially when the EU version DOES work... Can't we contact a dude of the store?

A shame we didn't get those PSP versions of FFI and FFII on the US PSN.
Although they were FAR too easy. Are those FF Origins versions also that easy? If not it would make them the versions to have because those PSP versions were so easy even a 1 year-old child could beat them...

I have:
- 1 & 2 on the GBA
- 3 on the DS
- 4 on the PSP
- 5 on the GBA
- 10 and 12 on the PS2

So if I get 6-9 on this deal I'll have the first 12.

And the only ones I've really played to completion are 3 and 10.

And sadly if I get 6-9, I'd probably double dip on remakes of 5, 6, and 10 when/if they ever come.

Ugh I bought Origins yesterday. But at least I'll be able to get Part IX for cheap!

Now if they could port X and XII to Vita, then I'll have played every non MMO FF! Yay!

Thanks for the info! While a few seconds of waiting isn't game breaking, it sure sounds really annoying to me. I guess I'll check it out for $5 and see if it bugs me too much or not.

Aww hell yes, Final Fantasy I-IX shall be mine. It would have been nice if PS+ members got a bit of extra discount.

I've got them all except V. I refuse to buy V again. The localization is too bad to play that game again.

SNES Final Fantasy III/VI was 24megs. On the PSN store it's nearly 200! What's the story with that?

FMVs (there are 2 of them in each game I think) and maybe poor compression. Even games that tend to be smaller bloat up when ported to a more powerful console.

Although what's weird is that Vagrant Story is only 94mb but it was fully 3D and it had at least one FMV (intro).
