My point is that the whole reason why Bungie stopped making Halo was because it got boring for them. Now they are doing another sci-fi FPS for 10 years.
I'm presuming it did, yeah. Since it's been years now.

I'm not saying there is a secret Xbox 3 announcement event in five days, but if this game really is on 360/PS3/Durango, and they're about to show it, why do it now when if they can't show the next-gen version?

Reports are that it plays like Halo (the most gameplay details actually come out of the paragraph below the one that's boxed in red):
Marathon was Doom with a (fantastic) story and aliens. Marathon 2 is tied with Rise of the Triad as the first shooter with dual wielding (they came out on the same day). Myth was a really excellent tactical RTS that doesn't get nearly enough credit for doing away with dirt farming and using terrain and physics in its simulation. Halo put Bungie at the forefront, but they made some really cool stuff before it.
Gnop was a Pong clone.

Court documents showed that it was probably going to be MS exclusive for a year... I guess they'll have to dance around the next gen issue unless MS really are going to surprise us in the next few days.

they will probably simply show a bunch of CGI story stuff and wait to debut gameplay until the next gen consoles are both revealed.

Wasn't it contracted for those system and PS4 eventually? I can't remember what the court documents said, but I'm almost sure that the PS4 is a strong maybe.

Probably already been answered but they were the premier game developers for the Mac platform before Microsoft bought them out. They made Myth and Marathon, to be specific. Apple fans were furious when Microsoft bought Bungie and made Halo (something originally supposed to be released for the Mac) a Microsoft platform exclusive.
Or just show off the next-gen versions and not say what console it was being shown on?
It's on this page or the one before, read it - Destiny 1 isn't coming to PS4 and MAY come to PS3 a year after the 360/720 release.

I think you're crazy. Bungie's new IP is not even close to the profile of a PS4 reveal.

Here's hoping the contract was amended. I just can't imagine Activision spending probably upwards of $50 million USD for one current gen console and one next-gen console with a small install base (relatively speaking).

Do you think that forums and news outlets, till the 20th, will be talking about anything other than Bungie's new game (from creators of Halo!1!)? I may have injected a bit of hyperbole but this is a great way for MS to get ahead of Sony's announcement. Of course, on the 20th and hence, the forums would be ablaze with the discussions of Sony's reveal as well as Destiny (and how it provides a taste of what Durango is capable of).
