Look at the image I posted above. It has the PS3 and 360 logo on it. If that image is legit (and it should be since it was with IGN's other leaked images), then that would throw a wrench in the idea that it's still timed exclusive. There'd be no reason for them to put the PS3 logo on there if that were the direction that they were heading in with the series.

This is also a legitimate leak that points to it possibly changing. It just seems pointless to have kept that.

Activision court documents showed the first game as a 720 exclusive. Totally a way to blunt PS4 news.

I really wouldn't read anything into that contract. Not only was it from years ago, prior to Acti knowing anything about either console, but also it wasn't as if that was a contract with Microsoft, it was a vague business plan between Activision and Bungie. It's not even as if it might have changed in the intervening time, it will definitely have changed.

Interesting reveal date you got there, Bungie-vision-soft. ;p
Looking forward to see what type of game it is.

Historically is it better or worse to bring to market a big franchise at the end of a console cycle? I guess they're covering their bases by bringing it to at least one of the two next gen consoles(unless that's just an old rumor).

It is better to start new IP on new consoles. People will have less choice to buy so most of them either way will buy that game.

3 day before the PS4 announcement? Yeah MS has something to do with this for certain reasons.

Dunno. I'm inclined to think they realize it's a bit pointless to make it a timed exclusive? I'm not seeing the benefits. You're kind of pushing aside a part of your potential market, no? What is the point of doing that aside from some good money for the publisher?

Things can change, right?

And yeah, partially since I don't own a 360 and would like to play it at launch.
If MS paid for the first exclusive to actibliz with A LOT OF MONEY like GTA episodes money than why not.

Well, obviously it would put spotlight on the whichever console it comes exclusively to for whatever amount of time. It can influence people's purchasing decisions. Bungie and Activision also have a really good relationship with Microsoft, specifically Bungie.

Is this a next-gent title only or is going to be cross-platform fellow GAFfers?

Thanks in advance.

Cross gen.

Explain"nope"?

Does that prohibit it from being labelled a next gen title?

I would assume not.

They will probably create high res assets for the PC and next-gen platforms, then scale them down for the 360/PS3 versions.

Really no different then they do now for the PC then scale them down for the console versions.

Thanks for answering. Probably PC, 360 and next-box then?

Most likely PS4 as well, but there is a rumored timed-exclusive with Next Box.

Or they reveal on Sunday, with no gameplay footage. Then on Wednesday they walk on stage at the Sony conference and give us our first in-game look running on PS4.

Maybe Sony asked them to unveil at their conference, but weren't prepared to give Bungie more than 10 minutes or something, so Bungie chose to do reveal just before the event and then knock it out of the park on Wednesday?

That makes more sense to me than Activision and Bungie choosing to try and rain on Sony's parade when they will both be wanting to sell games for Sony's new console.

It's not as if Bungie will be able to say it's on Durango on Sunday, Durango doesn't even exist, officially.

I guess so. There's still that IGN leak though so we'll see.

deals can be easily thrown out the window so you never know! I don't see this having relation to Durango though.

I hope this does release simultaneously on all platforms. I'd love for ridiculously large scaled shooters to catch on next gen.

Well we see soon but a timed Xbox exclude means the Ms is footing some if the bill and I imagine hey would want to steal some of sonys thunder wih out revealing too much.

The next game from the creators of halo making a game for Durango is a big deal
