On June 13, 1948, Ruth visited Yankee Stadium for the final time in his life, appearing at the 25th anniversary celebrations of "The House that Ruth Built". By this time he had lost much weight and had difficulty walking. Introduced along with his surviving teammates from 1923, Ruth used a bat as a cane. The photo of Ruth taken from behind, standing near home plate and facing "Ruthville" (right field) became one of baseball's most famous and widely circulated photographs, and won the Pulitzer Prize.

Lyndon Johnson taking the oath of office in Air Force One hours after JFK was assassinated. Jackie-O is obviously still in shock. You can see blood stains on her dress.

Geeze... I've seen this photo so many times, never realized that it was taken just hours after JFK was killed...

Why did Jackie O even need to be there??

I really like pictures of desert landscapes, so there isn't really one that sticks out in particular. But I really love pictures of White Sands in New Mexico. It's such a unique place.

I use to live in Alamagordo, NM (the town right next to white sands and Holloman AFB) Love visiting it or going up into the mountains and looking at the vast white swatch from a far. So amazing.

Not to mention I learned how to drive out on the missile range and shuttle runway!

JFK's body is on Air Force One with them. Jackie O also wanted to show support for Johnson, and she said "I want them to see what they did to my Husband" I think.
