NVIDIA to release GeForce Titan

I was under the impression that Titan will always be the same. SC and Signatures have different coolers amirite?

I thought they were just clocked higher, nothing more. Likely the exact same thing, but I've heard you might get a "better copy" going with a SC. The Signature version just comes with a T-shirt and stickers, I think. Could be wrong about either, so take that with a grain of salt.

Boy do I still want to pull the trigger. I keep punishing myself clicking on this thread.

Tempting :( But I think I'll wait for a price drop or 7xx series, can't really justify that kind of money for the performance increase over my OC'd 7970.

I don't think my dad has ever so much as browsed the web. I'm in space as far as my parents are concerned.

My grandma uses her computer like the 1960s version of the future.

She browses to the website she wants to look at, prints it, then reads the printout.

Before I convinced her to pick up an iPad, my grandma would open a browser, navigate to a web page, then close the browser and open another instance in order to navigate to another webpage. I couldn't seem to impart that there are tabs and that it isn't necessary to close the browser every time you want to go someplace else.

Titans in da house! :D

I picked up two Titans from my local retailer today. I initially ordered three Titans for 3-Way SLI. But they only had two today. :( The 3rd one due next week hopefully.

I wonder how long it'll take me to get used to x1xx for RAM amounts. Always was a 0 in the second position. Nice numbers like 1024 or 2048. 6144MB just looks wrong.

Now just upgrade your Dell monitor and whatever mouse you have :P

He has a SS Kana(?)Dota edition no need to upgrade. Evga SOC was 1179 at one of the places here in Aus I just missed out :(

I was thinking of upgrading my Asus GTX670 sometime soon but this is too much money to fork in a single PC component for me (besides the fact that I game in 1080P, so not sure this massive power would benefit me).

I hope the next series of Nvidia cards come soon.

Man, what crazy PSU do you have to power these monster cards?

My halfway decent 585W could handle one of them easily. A 750W PSU, not an exotic part at all, would have no problem. You have to remember that the energy usage in almost every other pc part has been extremely improved these last few years.

So I would have no trouble running a TITAN card with this PSU ?(also running 2 SSD, 3 HDD)
I upgraded from an 550W Antec because every now and then my keyboard or mouse would power off when too many USB devices were connected.

I somehow thought this card would require some serious horsepower to run, let alone a 3 way SLI :o

That PSu can run 2 titans :D

Hmmm you guys are reassuring me.
But wouldn't you have to leave some room (wattage?) for future upgrades, like a beefier Intel processors and additional hard drives and devices?

I hope PowerK will do some testing with Planetside 2 as well (even though the game is mostly CPU reliant).

Looks like they will be replacing the two EVGAs with two Gigabytes and ship them out today, great.

Currently trying to sell them to a colleague of mine.

congrats !

do the 680s overclock well?

Since the PS4 announcement I've been thinking about jumping ship to 4GB 670s/680s, but my current 670s overclock really well on the memory and are thus faster than pretty much every 680 SLI setup that isn't Lightning/DCII ...

Hold on there, chief.

If that monitor is what I think it is (U2410 / 2711 / 3011), any of the 120Hz monitors would be a IQ and color accuracy downgrade. I wouldn't be too hasty recommending a replacement, depending on his needs beyond gaming. Especially if he does any professional video, 3D or photo work.

Mine only do 100MHz to the GPU Clock and 300MHz to the Mem Clock before they start to have display errors. Not very impressive.

( Mem Clock could possibly be pushed a bit further, haven't done any extreme experimenting )

the Palit's are pretty much the only 4 GB cards that fit my blocks :p but the backside memory isn't cooled ...

yeah my cores at 1255 are pretty average, but +800 on the memory helps a lot

In the Unigine Valley thread over at OCN I'm only clearly beaten by a couple of extremely overvolted 680 SLI setups, whereas I'm running my 24/7 overclock :)

pretty sure I'll just wait for now and get two cards from the GTX7** series assuming they have 4+ GB of VRAM

also be sure to let me know what a Titan SLI does in Valley :p a single does 70~75 at 1080p max, my cards do 92,4

Since this seems like a very Dennis-related thread and I've been curious for a while now: what happened to Dennis?

He's still around, busy with work he says.

EDIT: He's banned?

EDIT2: Oh he's banned. No idea :P Thought you meant his general absence.
