They may not be, but the attitude and visual design of this game are practically a carbon copy of what RedLynx has done on the 360. As we said in the video, if the legal standard for infringement is "creating confusion in the marketplace" (I don't know that it is), you could likely make a convincing argument for infringement here. I guarantee a casual observer who's only passingly familiar with RedLynx's games would look at screenshots of this and assume it's from the same people.
Sure, but you could show someone Battlefield, Medal of Honor, and Call of Duty, and you'd probably get a similar result.

I didn't mean they don't have a legal precedent, just that if they did rip off all those flash games, to sue for being ripped off is pretty low. It's like PopCap, who made a living ripping off Japanese arcade games, did something quite fresh with PvZ, and if anyone rips that game off, they probably could make legal proceedings, but it'd be pretty shameful. Not that companies are burdened with the concept of shame.

I'm always kind of surprised how separated lawsuits seem to be from corporate cultures, like Valve and Blizzard suing each other while seemingly being on very good terms publicly.

I think in many ways the DotA lawsuit was a really fascinating case for the industry, of this generation, people probably think of SK versus Epic as the most notable one, but everything about the DotA case was pretty interesting, and hotly debated, probably because both companies are so loved. Everyone wanted SK to lose, if they should have or not.

This game looks like it would be great if cities and the area between cities were 50 times as big without limitations for how big cities could grow so you could grow into each other.

yep...

Hoping the multiplayer aspect will be strong, as it's looking like the main thing it has going for it.

It really seems like we somehow missed the actual SimCity reboot and jumped straight to the SimCity suburbs expansion.

If I had never played Sim City before, I bet I would have fun with this. However, I have played Sim City before so I am just disappointed with all of the limitations put in place.

Twitch really needs to get a rewind function for live broadcasts. I hate missing the beginning, then having to wait for the archive.

Oh man, I can't watch the Quicklook but from the sounds of things, it's not too impressive. I'm kind of screwed here with my preorder. It's the physical copy and has already shipped and I made commitments to friends and even gaf to play a spot as part of a region. :(

I'll make the most of it, I guess.

Just be open-minded. I can see how the game would be enjoyable, there are probably going to be a number of disappointments though.

It's really hard to name a game I didn't have fun with with friends. Even the worst piece of shit can be made a lot better with buddies.

I don't see why Greg Miller is freaking out about how great this is. IGN, I know, but I typically trust his opinion even if I disagree with it. The dude bought a gaming PC for this and will be streaming it for 9 hours. I don't see how he can be so enthusiastic about it.
