It was a pack-in with every Megadrive in the UK back in the day, so it was therefore not cool by default. What was cool was Sonic, Strider, Road Rash, Ghouls n Ghosts and Streets of Rage. They were cool. Really cool.

I played at my cousin's house (he was born in 75) but I don't remember if it was on Colecovision or Atari 2600... I was very young so :/

I just remember being so impressed that I could control something on a TV, even just a bar.

Hey mum! I can control the TV screen !!!

Then the game that impressed me the most after that was Super Mario Bros on NES. For me it was just the game that could be named "perfection" (I didn't think it exactly that way but it was like I had the future in my hands).

I can't be positive. My first system was an NES that used to belong to one of my cousins. Came with just a few games. It was either:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (really sucked at this one)

Can't say I did much with either. Got a few levels into The Little Mermaid but I don't think I ever got past the first area of TMNT. The first game I'd go on and pick out for myself would be Pokemon Blue a few years later.

?? why would somethign being a pack in make it not cool by default? That sounds like some elitist shit.

I think it was perhaps a pack in in NA as well iirc, but i could be wrong. Doesn't make giant shape shifting beasts any less cool for a youngn.

But i will agree that strider, road rash and SoR were also cool. Mainly Strider though.
