Gaelco's World Rally Championship
Thanks! Looked so much more realistic when I was a kid.
Gaelco's World Rally Championship
Maybe Nitemare 3D?Thanks guys but sadly none of these are itThe reason my memory has been jogged on this game is because I saw on GOG.com a new release for Catacombs series, which looks a lot like the game im thinking of (but isn't). I seem to remember the game playing in a window also and not full screen. It most definitely started off in a mansion.
Roughly when was this? And was it one on one Street Fighter style, or scrolling Streets of Rage style?
Nearly 1996, I think. And it was a Streets of Rage style beat 'em up, with weapons.
Yeah that's the only thing I could get, but it's 3D. Memory plays tricks, o' course, and it's not exactly free-roaming 3D.
Maybe your friend was playing on an emulator?
I had a Mickey Mouse game for Genesis/Mega Drive which I played so much throughout my childhood. All these years later I can't remember which MM game it is, and have forgotten most of the game itself.
One bit I do remember is mixing colours (potions) in bowls. I think. Even this is fuzzy. I just remember you could mix colours to make new colours. I don't even remember why.
If anyone could find a screenshot or video of this section of the game my nostalgic self would be over the moon with appreciation.
That name doesn't ring a bell. Looking at Wikipedia's list of MM games on Genesis I'm guessing it is either Mickey Mania or Castle of Illusion based on recognising the box art, but there's every chance I've seen them more recently. My gut's saying Mickey's Ultimate Challenge, but I can't find details of the exact puzzles involved in the game
Here's a tough one -
An Amiga game that I saw played at a friends house about 17 yrs ago.
Similar in style to GTA1 but with no crime, set in a top down city where you could ride buses and walk through the streets. I vaguely remember it being called 'A Day in the Life' or similar but this has bugged me for nearly 2 decades.
Would massively appreciate any pointers GAF!
I vaguely remember this game on the N64. It was very futuristic, I'm getting tron vibes from my memories, and I think it was first-person. The only thing I remember for sure was a logo of a knife or arrow struck through a heart.
I don't know if this is enough to go by.
Holy shit, I just looked up some gameplay and got a nostalgia blast. Thank you!
I really don't remember much details from this game, only remember playing it with my bro for a few hours. Anyway it's a 2D action-platform game. I recall that the main character you play with has blue hair and iirc he could use a boomerang (possibly main weapon) and MAYBE shot some kind of energy balls. I don't remember anything about the levels, I think at least one of them had platforms with grass on them but I'm not sure. Finally I'm pretty sure this game was for SNES. Any idea what game it might be? Sorry for the crappy details.
Holy shit I have Power Blade hidden somewhere, completely forgot about it. Remember hating the game as well when I played it on my NES (that does not work now :/ ) It's not this game, if anything I'd say the hair style of the main character was more typically 90s-anime-ish in style. It will be really hard to know this one, he might not even have used a boomerang. Might not have even been for SNES (but if not SNES then NES for sure, but I'd say SNES more likely).

Closest resemblance I can find to his hair would probably be something like this (sprite seen from the side, row 2, column 1)
What if my mind is just making things up :lol.
Damn this game might be it and his hair is not even blue :lol. Sorry guys! I think it might be this, I'll have to check with my brother and see first. If it's this game then my description was not even remotely close, how embarrassing :lol.I kinda want to say Skyblazer. That Chrono Trigger shot gave me that idea.
I remember playing this game published by Sierra Games waaaay back, maybe 1998 or so, and it was a sidescroller with two gruff dudes in some dystopian future environment, it was either competitive or co-op but you could definately play with more than one person. I forget what it was called and it's been bugging me for years. I actually scoured Wikipedia's Sierra Games page looking through their list for the game to no avail :/
Definitely sounds like Mickey Mania. That name doesn't ring a bell. Looking at Wikipedia's list of MM games on Genesis I'm guessing it is either Mickey Mania or Castle of Illusion based on recognising the box art, but there's every chance I've seen them more recently.

Showed my brother a clip of the game today on youtube and he remembers playing it. So yeah, Skyblazer is the game! Thanks GrumpyAlien, awesome GAF is awesome!Damn this game might be it and his hair is not even blue :lol. Sorry guys! I think it might be this, I'll have to check with my brother and see first. I keep forgetting this game.
It was on C64 but afaik it's just an arcade/stronger platform port.
Contra style shooter. I remember going through town shooting "kung fu guys" trying to jump kick you.
But here's something characteristic: End boss on that level was a pickup truck trying to ram you.
I knew this, but forgot, again.
Probably not, but is it Rush'N Attack? I've only played the NES version but I recall most of the enemies just running/jumping at you.
Arcade only game with a large blue cabinet you sat in. It was an early 3D helicopter game and you had a stick between your legs and the lever down by your left leg for controls. I seem to recall you also had pedals controls from memory too. The whole cabinet moved and rocked in time with the game feedback.
There was a large yellow reticule that spun and locked on targets and awesome sounds effects as well as an announcer of sorts during gameplay. Mostly you shot down other choppers and huge battleships while also controlling your flight and elevation.
It was so awesome that one of my best friends and I would play it every time we went to the arcade, which back then was almost everyday. Any ideas on the game name?
An obscure PSX game that had aa big head/face on his cover and was almost completely red with a bright terminator red eye or something. Was my first PSX game and I never opened it, my father exchanged it for Tarzan. I'm curious to know what could my first experience with 3D gaming had been.
Closest I could find was Air Rescue from Sega: http://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=6833
Looking at a video it doesn't really match up but I'm curious if I'm on the right path. Does it seem like it came after or before this? Was the cabinet one of those that came over the top of you as well? I might poke around a little more.
Edit: NY Gunblade has a mounted machine gun that moves like crazy when you fire. You're in a Helicopter firing it and I'm pretty sure you shoot other helicopters and stuff, not sure about battleships. Also, has a yellow reticule.
I'm going to guess Jersey Devil because it's the first thing that came to mind but I don't expect it to be correct as it's not mostly red but it does have a red eye and the title is in red: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jersey_Devil_PS1
Nope, unfortunately.
Thx for looking, I spent 30 mins looking today again without luck, I also called my mate I used to play it with (alternating as it was one player only). He remembers the game/arcade machine but not the name of the game...
Yes the cabinet went over your head and was curved over the top, you could get in either side. It was in Timezone Knox City, Melbourne Australia arcade back in the early-mid 90's.
It used to have the announcer with an almost cyber female sounding voice...blow up a naval turret then it would say 20 points etc.
Doing some Googling could it be Metal Hawk? It was a Japan only game but I found mention that there were a ton released in Australia and it seems that the announcer is constantly saying stuff and at the mission end screen I think she says, "30 pointsu!"

Midnight Resistance?
What was the name of this game, from 08 I believe, where you could shoot flat terrain and turn it into a hill. Then use the hill to help you jump a fence?

I'm trying to find an old, free adventure game made in Adventure Game Studio.
It was an "escape the room" type of game, in a cyberpunk type of dystopia, where you're this guy who wants to get out of his flat but can't pay the door lock to get him out.
At one point you had to open one of your vents and use some item (rope? string? dental floss?) to get the coin or such in there.
Any clue what it might have been?
Midnight Resistance?
