Metal Gear Solid V announced (PS360, open world)

Is the album as a whole any good or is it just that one song?

Updated answer: I listened to about a minute from each, none of them seemed as good as Not Your Kind of People the song, though my association with MGSV may make it biased too. There was 2 other songs I thought were decent on it. Not my cup of tea overall, but I do love the song in the trailer.

Had a quick peak on youtube and have to agree with you.

Ready to bet that the guy I circled here is Ishmael

I doubt a random balaclava soldier would be used for a key role in the plot...

I found it a little odd how Snake looks down at that masked soldier when he's shot (When they are next to the chopper). He looks like he's just lost a friend, rather then random masked soldier.

It was not almost a carbon copy. There are definitely passages where the melody is briefly quite similar, but the time signature, tempo, instrumentation, and counter melodies are all different. And there are a majority of places where the pieces are absolutely nothing alike. Observe. Sviridov's "The Snowstorm". Tappy's MGS Main Theme.

When i listen to the 3 minutes of The Snowstorm in that video i can almost go through all the main passages of the MGS theme, i don't know what you're proving with this post.
The similarities are far stronger than in the Williams' comparison, especially because it's a fairly distinctive theme, not some generic accompanying music.
The dude pulled all his major "beats" from that song, i'd almost consider it a remix.

That's because the soldiers of Mother Base are his troops, they trusted him with their lives.

They are all brothers in arms.

Yes, that is actually one of my favorite parts of the trailer. Just shows that extra human emotion in a videogame character. It pretty much sums up why i love MGS in general.

Portable Ops spoilers.

Snake lost it when Jonathon died, and he was a generic soldier. Watching anyone you care for get hurt or die is always painful. I'm sure Snake has strong feelings about the soldiers under his command.

That's the first thing I thought about. Anyway I didn't say "I know that" I just say I could bet on that...is more like a "sixth sense" thing :-D

You start a poll if the guy interviewed is CG or not and is ok and if I just throw an idea or a guess got "are you on drugs?" :-))

For what I could see in the video he is the one helping Kaz to enter in the helicopter and then he enters with Kaz while BB keep on shooting and others die. So maybe he is still with them when shit happens (the helicopter falls?) and then the three of them are in the hospital.

Is POPs back to being considered canon? I know for a while it was dead to most people cause it wasn't a Kojima joint.

I think Hayter not being in the game has more to do with the story than anything. No way they just decide to have someone else voice Snake out of the blue.

Any word on whether or not the voice actor that voices him in Japanese is different as well?

Japanese voice actor is still the same.

Its still Akio Ohtsuka in Japan.

Originally, the theory that Hayter got the boot for story reasons, and that his upset and frustration that he's been expressing via his twitter account is all part of another elaborate Kojima scheme, seemed like it made the most sense.

Considering that his seiyuu is the same, though, I'm starting to wonder. Maybe he really did just get replaced. It's just strange, though. Even if Konami/Kojima Productions never intended or realized that Hayter would become so iconic to the series and so synonymous with the character, the fact remains that this is the case among a large portion of the fanbase and that a non-story related change is pretty jarring.

Yep. Chances of TPP being co-ops again? The GZ intro specifically states he needs to go solo for that mission, but TPP could suit multiplayer. Either the first one or two missions in Peace Walker were SP only.

Kojima tweeted something about a multiplayer beta this year? Maybe it's MGO3?

Personally I would prefer the multiplayer component to be separate from MGS5.

I hope there's co ops. The game being open world should make it fun.
