Fighting Games Weekly | April 1-7 | And after 0-3, he has risen

Wonder Woman looks like a fucking horse in game.

I played the Injustice demo. Although I like some of the changes to the engine (hold back to block!), I just don't think I'll ever get the hang of the MK style of gameplay. It just feels fucking weird.

Injustice feels so bad to play.

It went from a "i have to buy this" to a "i never want to play this again."

The proportions are fucked up, but since it's going for a realistic look, the contrast is really noticeable and looks bad.

NetherRealm is shit.

The sky is blue.

We should really be used to things like this by now.

Dat MK engine

called it months ago. same shitty universal normals, same shitty weird ass slow jump arcs, same shitty combo system, same shitty complete lack of footsies, same old stupid ass mortal kombat

Comeon man sfxt looks like shit dude lol. That has nothing to do with my feelings about the actual game itself. It's abrasive to look at, flashing colors everywhere (though toned down in 2013.)
SFxT v Injustice visuals is just a matter of personal tastes - both games have elements of the visuals that are easy to be annoyed by, but it just depends which one bothers you more.

frame data being in games is fine in a post youtube/information available every where age. Discovery my ass. People figure out stuff way quicker these days because games are very similar to each other.
Yup. Transparency is a good thing.

I wouldn't take NRS not saying much about netcode as a bad thing. Most companies pr that have hyped netcode turned out not to be that great.

Yeah, I can agree with that, and also, indeed, SfxT looks like SFIV tripped on mushrooms

Was that info officially from capcom? Or did they do it themselves? Isn't the frame data wrong sometimes in these guides?

The guide (SFA3 one) wasn't released by Capcom themselves but the frame data was correct from what I've seen when someone on SRK posted a Japan website with the frame data.

I've only seen the SF2:hyper fighting guide for a minute when someone bought it to school and it was decades ago so I don't remember that one all that much.

There are 2 raging battles here! heh

Animation - SFxT wins by alot (imo)

Visuals (art styles, color choices, etc) - personal taste here. SFxT can be garish color wise sometimes tbh. I really like their character models though.

Let me get a controversial post time. Marvel 3 rocks Injustice visually! ;)

holy fuck i hate live on 3. I'm listening to these aholes try to cover the Blizzard 'please play hots i swear its not going to be boring in two weeks' riot LCS ripoff league and they're trying to explain Final Round. Slasher goes on about how Chris G lost to somebody but they couldn't remember who it was and never heard of him and that was basically the end of their marvel coverage.

You don't think there's footsies in MK? lol. Astounding ignorance here.

I hereby declare that there are no footsies in AE. Because I say so.

Who?

No need to bust a nut over it.

Considering namco openly talked about how shitty t6 netcode was, and how they were looking to find ways to improve it for sc5/tt2 speaks for it self. NRS has a lot to prove. The companies that only advertise their netcode being badass is ggpo capcom games.

arcsys doesnt need to advertise their online, they know how good their shit is.

How this:

is uglier than this?
some raws..

some look ok but the SF4 engine suffers from the same thing imo. in motion things look acceptable but, the modelling for many characters in SF4/SFxT suck.

Yeah I call BS on that comment too lol. There is a huge footsie game in MK9, I agree. Just because there are no trades does not mean there are not footsies. It's there. Just different from Capcom's implementation of it.

If you told me that after I just got vortexed to death by Ibuki/Akuma, I would believe you :(

MK is arguably more about footsies than AE is IMO.

the footsies in that game are retarded, but i'm glad you agree with all the other points i made

Basically everything you said in that post was complete bullshit, the footsies thing was just way bigger bullshit.

If you don't like a game, just say "I don't like it because I played it and didn't have fun." Don't just make up a bunch of shit.

Whatever. If you're already that far gone, there's no point going that deep into it with you.

Something Tropes vs Women something...(I agree with you)

I used to play with Edgeward and Morro!... good times...
So the answer to tropes is to make them like gorrilas? I can understand moving away from double F boob size Ivy or whatever happens in the DOA games but there is nothing wrong with good looking female characters who can fight.

I only played it for like 10 minutes and most of that was "ok what button does what?". I didn't really do much past that because I had to do it all in versus which is like, the caveman version of training mode. I knew it looked like shit going in so that doesn't bother me. They all kinda look like shit these days.

I think graphics/animations matter more to casual players/stream monsters than proplayers

Good thing from injustice is the no block button it makes combat be a little more pleasing on the eye.

anyways does anybody remember who it was that beat chris g at ncr last year? that skrull player ?

Hi I Am Nasty and Padtrick beat ChrisG last year. Both haven't really been keeping up with the game much. Norcal doesn't have many answers to him, they got Drew Grimey and Apologyman but that's it. Everyone else uses that same shit.

Would Morrigan/Doom/Shuma work in the Morridoom mirror? (Not trying to get into heavy Marvel theorycrafting, the thought just occurred to me after the Angelik/Flocker matches this weekend and wanted to see if I was crazy.)

So your idea of a counter pick is to pick the same duo? Obviously it will "work" but you need to play the duo better than ChrisG to beat him. Zero first is a better strategy because he can whittle down Morrigan so that when your Morrigan comes into play you would have an advantage in the mirror. This ALMOST worked for Flocker but he got "keep calm'd" by Chris' Vergil.
