I am the team manager of AfterGlow Elite (Team AGE), Sebastian Jennings. I would like to address the events that happened with Team AGE at Final Round. Team Spooky and I had a talk about what occurred and we have made amends. On behalf of Team AGE and Fanatiq, I would like to apologize for my error as a team manager.
Our FGC environment has changed from small community driven tournaments, to large corporate sponsored events. This welcomed growth is allowing the FGC the ability to host larger tournaments, generate more money for everyone in the community (for TOs and players alike) and attract additional support from new sponsors.
With this change, I overlooked the fact that new adjustments in Team AGEs policy were necessary to respect the rights of sponsors who contributed to the tournament itself. As a result of this, I failed to instruct my team to adjust their commentary when PDP / AGE are not event sponsors. Fanatiq was only doing his job as a sponsored player and he is not to blame for this. It is my failure as a team manager that I did not set up these team policies beforehand, and for that I am sorry.
I understand the reasoning for the controversy and the call out to this specific situation, but I do feel that it was unfair that my entire team was punished due to this isolated incident. Many of my team members had great performances at Final Round and were not given the proper credit that they deserved. I've spoken to my team about our new policies, and PDP will be working more closely with Team Spooky and other tournament organizers to ensure that these kinds of mishaps do not occur in the future.
