A scam?

It's a price. You're either willing to pay it or you're not. How exactly is it a scam?

It justs the price usually doesn't equal the quality. Then again I brought games new at 60 and half the time they end up like shit. Ill probably split the cost with roommates or something.

"It would upset the children if i became a bad guy!"

Uh that is the entire point of turning heel? To piss people off and make them watch to see you get your comeuppance? That and to freshen up a character and open up new feuds = making more money.

How many of you really want to see another batch of Cena vs Heel of the Month PPVs? He will have more feuds with heel Big Show, heel Punk, heel Jericho, heel Henry etc.

The Montreal Screwjob is a great example of WWF at the time having the finger on the pulse of the wrestling fans, not the ones online, but the ones in the arenas, they listened and turned Vince into a heel character. They could have just been big headed about it like they are today and just presented him as a face and Bret as a bad guy, but they knew that this is what fans wanted, they heard them every night in the arenas.

Just like they have been hearing it with Cena but this time, they are not listening, they refuse to acknowledge the live crowd unless they fall in line with what they want them to chant.

Turning Cena heel would in the long run just make him a better and more beloved face, just like the Rock, every time he turned back to face he became a bigger star, because the fans wanted to cheer him so bad.

Cena needs that break, people need to miss cheering for him, and him turning heel would in process lose him the stigma of the "corporate created wrestler who job it is to sell merch to kids and be as cheesy as possible", the Superman act.

It would allow him to develop his character, and the day he turns back to a face, he would likely be a bigger face than ever before. Look how loud people cheered for Hogan during Hogan vs Rock at WM17. People missed that character

Whatever, they wont do it because this company no longer listens to the fans, they have their own ideas and that is the end of it. Vince is no longer a brave go-getter who wants a fight with anyone and is ready to do anything to get fan interest. He has not looked like he gave a shit for years, just coasting for the past 10 years or so.

I will enjoy the event, but i have no hope of them doing anything exciting. Vince does not have the grapefruits any longer to pull off such a thing. He is content with making some profit each year and letting his son in law and daughter do the rest.

Only reason people are excited is they think Cena will turn Heel.

Once the night is over people will talk about how shit it was.

I'm excited for it not because Cena will turn heel. Some people here will hate if its good just because they belive in there mind is shit and that line of thinking is hard to turn.

I'm excited because it's WrestleMania, I'm excited because I expect four to five four-star matches. I'm excited because it's gonna be fun in here, yes. I'm gonna be excited throughout.

Yes, Cena is staying face. Yes, Cena is gonna be champ. Guess what, I don't care. Cena hasn't been champ in ages and I don't hate the guy. Hell, his promowork as serious Cena is entertaining enough.

I'm not gonna be negative for negativity's sake either. The build has been sub-par, fine, I'll enjoy the PPV because I still like to watch the wrestling programs, there I've said it.

Who's with me?

I am sorry if i sounded so negative

I am very happy that we have the Shield and Ziggler, these 2 acts are the ones i watch WWE for because i hope Ambrose and Ziggler will one day be main eventers

Perhaps. When Vince is dead.

Until then the only main eventers are Cena, CM Punk, old fossils from the 90s and Vince's juiced up freak of the month.

I don't know why you guys want Cena to be heel so bad. He would never be able to pull it off. He already comes across as super corny when he tries to get even remotely "heel-ish" now.

Eff the Aiii era, someone needs to snitch on him or something.
Wouldn't be so bad if the dude wasn't so darn enthusiastic about mediocrity.
Fans like him are the reason Vince and company don't waste any of their time bothering to improve. :(

I do appreciate his AJ affection, though.

yeah but that's because he is doing it in a troll-ish tongue in cheek kind of way and not seriously trying.

What does it even matter, he isn't going heel.

Vince is about to retire in a few years max anyways, why get worked about it? I'm glass half full kinda guy I guess.

Nah, but seriously, my life motto is "Never get worked up about stuff that's outside of your control." I guess I apply it to watching wrestling as well.

I'm with you all the way Aiii.

You know guys, Cena seems to be mentioning his opportunity for the "heel" turn a lot, even if he's just denying it. I get that he says he has charity to do, but Punk has said the baddies do it too, they just try not to televise it, so maybe it can still happen? Maybe he's trying to keep it a swerve? #HopesUp

lol @ some of you guys thinking Cena will still be a face. The reason he said he would never turn heel was to make it even more shocking.

Because no one likes faces no matter what.
Faces I like:
ADR & Ricardo
D. Brine & Kane
Brodus & Sweet T.
Jericho
Damien Sandow(HE'S FACE TO ME, DAMMIT)
Evan Bourne
Santino
Sheamus(well, I theoretically like him if he could get good writing)
The Rock(liked him more last year, but still like him)
Zack Ryder
Yoshi Tatsu

Faces I don't like:
Booker T (Even inventing D. Brine can't save him)
Khali
Lawler
Cena
Orton
Rey Rey
Ryback

Faces I am indifferent to:
Kofi
Hornswoggle
The Miz
R-Truth
Sin Cara

I think it is more the build to this year's Mania that has been less than spectacular.

I bought Mania last year though will not be buying this year and while WCW is out of business, I think they did one major approach that made a lot of their PPVs work during the time they beat the WWE in the ratings.

You need a strong undercard and an even stronger set of main events. They have the latter, but the former seems a bit frail in my view.

Why aren't there any Divas in your list?

How are people imagining Cena could turn heel tonight? He'd need some kind of outside help, I think.

Either Heyman/Punk/Brock align with him or The Shield does I guess.

Cena turning out to be part of The Shield would be an amazing twist, but I don't like that it would diminish the role of the three guys, so I'll go with the superheel faction of Heyman/Cena/Punk and part-time Brock. Heyman can definitely help guide Cena into the new role.

Cena heel turn would be facilitated by the Wyatt family. BRAINWASHED

So is UFC/MMA more popular than WWE/Professional Wrestling in America these days?
I know they are completely different, but which one would you rank higher in popularity after NBA, NFL and MLB?

Well John Cena beat former UFC Champion, Brock Lesnar, so I would say WWE is more popular for that reason alone.
