My night just got worse...

I just found out that Lucasarts has been shut down by Disney, and all projects have been cancelled. FUCK.

My predictions for Extreme Rules:

Pre-Show: US Title: Cesaro v Sin Cara
1. Mark Henry v Ryback
2. Tag-Team Title: Team Hell No v Rhodes Scholars v 3MB
3. IC Title: The Miz v Swagger
4. WHC Title: Del Rio v Ziggler
5. Jericho v Fandango
6. Big Show v Randy Orton
7. Cena & The Rock & Sheamus v The Shield

Punk, Undertaker, Lesnar, and HHH all on break.

What I wish the Extreme Rules card looked like (provided the four fighters above take a break)
1. Tag-Title Match: Elimination rules
Team Hell No v Rhodes Scholars v Ziggler/Langston v Prime Time Players

2. IC / US Unification match:
Cesaro v Miz

3. Jericho v Fandango (I liked their match, so I'd like to see the feud continue)

4. #1 Contenders match for WHC/WWE unified title:
Ryback v Christian v Orton v Henry

5. The Shield v Big Show, Swagger, Barrett (Show puts together his own 'super group)

6. WHC / WWE Unification match:
Cena v Del Rio (Ziggler cashes in after)

The vast majority of Punk's heel reign was him jutting his chin out and going GRRRR as Raw closed.

I literally don't remember a thing about it other than the Rock feud.

Also, I don't know how it played on TV, but the seats starting emptying out the SECOND the 3 was counted, TNA-style.

I woke up 8:30AM on a Monday morning for that :\

Well, I did enjoy Del Rio/Swagger, Jericho/Fandango and the tag team match, but the only match which felt like a Wrestlemania match was the Punk/Taker match, which was absolutely top notch.

Much respect for Taker who, despite many lingering health issues, managed to hold his own with one of the best talents in the wrestling business today.

I don't understand why people cheer the Rock. He isn't funny anymore and is about -50% electrifying compared to the mobility, poise, and energy he had in his prime. There's nothing there to root for or enjoy.

All of this is true. It was basically all about respect. It was bad. Really bad. Also, the latter part of his face run was boring. He basically had a very long ride off of that one pipe bomb.

Also the most boring.

I liked Punk until his title reign became boring. Maybe if the booking was better he could've had some memorable matches, but I can't remember any of them besides a D.Brine match he had that had more to do with AJ than the title.
Honest question as a casual observer:

How can you rate any of these terrible storylines as more or less boring? The whole show, product, whatever, is completely garbage. Punk is basically the only guy who can elevate this crap to "worthwhile", but as good as he is, that only gets me to track down the occasional segment on youtube. Every time I've tuned into a proper RAW or PPV for the last few years I've regretted it. Even when they stumbled onto a great storyline with the Punk thing in the summer of ... '11? ...the rest of the show was jarringly bad.

I didn't tune in tonight, luckily.

My heart says that if the WWE was intent on turning Cena heel they will wait until Raw tomorrow so that their entire audience knows about it, especially since the current product loves to move things at a snails pace. My brain says we are in for another decade of darkness.

I watch New Japan, ROH, TNA, and WWE. He is by far the best thing in Pro wrestling today.

Right now? Disagree. Bully Ray, Austin Aries, Bobby Roode, Chris Daniels, Nakamura, Okada, Prince Devitt, Ibushi, Suzuki are all more entertaining. Punk was the best for a while in 2011 though.

So ITT people whine and bitch that Cena is face and champ? This is why I don't go into the Wrasslin Thread. This was coming from a mile away. Ziggler may cash in tomorrow or at Extreme Rules. Either way I'll be at WM30 with my friends next year.

Gotta agree that from a business standpoint, it probably doesn't make much sense for the WWE to turn Cena heel. They also have to answer to investors who will wonder why they turned their cash cow. Cena is a necessary evil for the WWE to continue making money and to do all of their humanitarian outreach programs.

And yet it's crazy that Vince McMahon can get away with stupid shit that doesn't seem to benefit anyone or anything other than his own weird ego. How does it benefit shareholders by having Daniel Bryan, then-WH Champion, get pinned in 18 seconds at last year's show? It just cheapens the product.

Basically what I'm saying is, it astounds me that they stick so close and are so safe to major detriment of their shows in order to appease investors, all the while doing absolutely stupid, unnecessary shit that doesn't help anyone. It's just bizarre.

Look at all those TNA guys. I agree, but it's weird when you look at it like that

#imwithbeef Punk's heel title run was forgettable. His SES heel work and his Hardy heel work were far superior, so maybe that's why they were so much better to me.

Remember folks, every time you say "Man, WWE sucks" just look at New Japan and find the love of wrasslin' blooming within your heart.

I really think the event could have been slightly better on TV without the open arena. The crowd sounded dead all night other then the Hell No match.

Oh fuck the night ended on such a borefest. Aside from the pre-show shitfest I enjoyed pretty much everything up through Punk/Taker. Even Bork/HHH was good during the sections Bork was carrying.

Also, there aren't enough pictures of frowny Cena in existence for every member of #HEEL to have an original one.

I thought the NJ/NY crowd was gonna eat Cena alive if he won? Oh wait...
Cena got 95%+ boos. The problem was 1) the match sucked and the crowd didn't give a shit and 2) the end was a foregone conclusion. The fans that did react booed, a handful of Cenation guys popped, and most of the crowd flat out didn't react.

Sorry man, but lately...James Storm > Bobby Rude. I know, I know.

Are any of you honestly thinking that Dwayne is going to be sticking around for a while? C'mon. He's got movies to make and shill.

I'm sure he'll be back for the rubber match in a year at:

I calls it like I sees it. Those TNA guys are people I stop fast forwarding through Impact to watch. Can't say Punk has earned that for a while until the last Raw.

Sorry man, but lately...James Storm > Bobby Rude. I know, I know.

Storm's always competently energetic on the mic and solid in the ring, but I love the Aries/Roode dynamic.

As I've slowly faded away from WWE after the Attitude era, I think I can say wholeheartedly that New Japan is perhaps the greatest wrestling promotion still alive today. So many of the worlds best wrestlers had their fingerprints somewhere in New Japan.

How does one go about watching NJ? I wouldn't know where to start. Do you just watch PPVs? And are there translations or do you just watch for the in ring stuff?
