Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

I finally started playing Gravity Rush.

I remember a fellow GAFfer saying (when I got my Vita, less than a month ago) that he hoped it "clicked" with me. Man, it clicked indeed! I love this game. The soundtrack, the main character, the way they tell the Story. I'm bad at those challenges and I'm having some trouble landing in the desired areas but I hope the game just don't spike the Difficulty on later levels. I did not even knew there was DLC! What a nice surprise, it payed off knowing almost nothing to this game and now I'm having a great time with it.

To be honest, I feel relaxed when playing this game. Persona 4 is still on my list as my soon-to-be first physical game Bought. I hope it can be a game good for relaxing and enjoying the Story too (plan on play it on Easy if that helps).

Happy birthday fellow GAFfer! :)

The biggest difficulty spike in Gravity Rush is playing it for the first time and wrestling with the controls, coping with the disorientation as you experiment with gravity manipulation and trying to become adept at lining up exactly where you want to land or aiming a gravity kick at an enemies weak spot. It takes a lot of getting used to, at least it did for me, but with enough time all those things you'll be able to pull off with relative ease. It just becomes second nature after a while. And don't worry about any challenges until you've upgraded the move list a few times, otherwise they're needlessly difficult and you're just going to end up punishing yourself for no reason.

But yeah, like you say, all those components like the soundtrack, main character, story presentation - they're all top-notch. Such a terrific game.

Good for GungHo. Personally, I've worn myself out on Ragnarok Odyssey and won't be back for a full priced expansion.

Unless they buff the heck out of mages!

New features sound nice though, especially the mercenary NPC thing. Game is really annoying to play solo (I only stuck with it because I had a local co-op buddy for the entire campaign).

Why wasn't playing online an option for you? The online feature worked well enough IMO.

I'm definitely interested in the title, but I hope they've de-emphasized aerial battles. They kind of suck just like all aquatic battles in MH Tri and MH Tri Ultimate.

What would be totally awesome is if there was some way to store all your bubbles in the vita's internal memory (how much is there?) So that all your bubbles are there always and if you click the bubble it will respond in a similar way to when you have to insert a game card. This way its almost no big deal to have to swap cards.

Does that make sense to anyone?

Yes, I've been thinking this for awhile. Although I do think they need to have some indication of what games are on the card that's currently in the Vita and which ones are not (some little symbol by the bubble or something). That way you don't have to go in to a live area and try starting up a game just to see if its on that card or not. But yeah, we definitely need something so it's not such a hassle switching cards.

Also a Vita FW update to stack your games in folders and for the memory card to save the layout of apps and games etc, so if you swap memory cards you don’t get a jumbled mess!

Thank you for the replies about Gravity Rush fellow GAFfers. It's indeed a great game and I'm happy that there won't be a big spike in Difficulty later on.

Soon, PS Plus users are going to get Zero Escape VLR. I heard there's some problems with the saves on the DS, is there going to be the same trouble on the Vita? Can we do something about it?

Happy birthday fellow GAFfer! :)
Happy Birthday :D. If only Sony had a gifting ystem like steam...GET IT DONE SONY.
something something birthday
Thanks guys! :D

I don't think the problem exists in the Vita version.

Atelier Meruru Plus localization confirmed?
One Piece Pirate Warriors 2 please... although that's being published by Namco Bandai.

I'm still debating whether to buy Totori, but I think I'll treat myself since it's my birthday today. :D
Happy birthday!

Yes! Finally! I can properly hide fucking Welcome Park!

The save bug found in the 3DS version of VLR is not found in the Vita version. :)

Wait?! We're getting this free in NA?

It's already been way too long. Also, obligatory response: where are the 64GB and 128GB memory cards, Sony???

If they fix their shitty system so that my bubbles don't get fucked up when i swap memory cards, i have no problem buying another 32GB :P

Great news, thank you guys. I must say that I'm loving my Vita but it's rather nice to see the GAF-Vita community so awesome and kind while helping others.

The only thing I really wanted now would be Persona 4 but that will have to wait a bit longer... :/

Also, I still don't have any Case for my Vita. I love those clean, simple, minimalistic look but so far no luck. Here's what I would love to get or anything similar:

I'm in Europe and I shop mostly in Amazon.uk or similar with international Shipping.

I was specifically thinking of Gravity Rush. The saves are not visible anywhere separately from the installed game like on PS3, are they?
Yeah, I meant you need to search on a case by case basis. If there's a list of games that it works on I haven't come across it. With that said Gravity Rush works fine according to a few posters on Gamefaqs (I just did this search.

Is it bad that I would still buy them?
Yeah, I probably would too if I felt I needed it. I'm pretty good with my housekeeping though so I don't have any issues with my 32GB just yet.

You can import those from Play Asia, as far as I know they weren't officially released outside of Japan.

Wait so Meruru is confirmed for the west too? I still haven't beaten any of the other ones... I really need to focus on a game to beat+platinum on Vita. I'm thinking Uncharted, perhaps?

Nice.

there are many things I want

-a dedicated bubble to save all of our PSP/PSone settings for all games(so we don't have to change it everytime).
-More options for CMA (like just copying the saves)
-Better remote play(like the one in CFW PS3 with Vita)
-update the PSP emulator (2xAA,screenshots feature for PSone and PSP games..ect).
-also add some AA for the damn bubbles.
-the ability to switch accounts without swapping cards.
-more language supports.
-Streetpass clone(no Near is not the same thing)
-option to turn off the text under the bubbles.
-more themes

I've never found online to be as fun as local when it comes to working together with someone (competitive is fine). I don't plan on playing SS online much either - or at least nowhere near as much as local.

Imo epic mickey 2(if sells enough) is a sort of sony's troian horse or a disney's tax to get disney games on vita.
If epic mickey 2 will sell well then we'll probably see infinity and other disney games, otherwise...

Well at that point they are better off selling literal shit in a box that tricking people into buying epic mickey 2 and then those same people assuming all Disney games are trash.

Confirmed for Wednesday but I don't think we have a price yet.
Thanks. Hopefully it's not a $15 = €15 case. Still have €4,56 in my wallet, so hopefully we'll get a fair price, so I don't have to add more then €10,-.

I'm using my Vita as my go to PS3 trophy device lately. The menu works 1000x faster/less laggy then PS3's XMB. I actually care (somewhat) about trophies now. It's nice to have a game's trophy list ready while playing a game on the big screen. Only thing they could improve on PS3 is automatic and instant trophy syncing, but I'm not expecting that seeing as PS4 is around the corner.

Nice list.
There are some things I think you have a little off (remote play is done for games that *don't* support it via CFW PS3, you don't need a CFW Vita to do it, I think) and some things I couldn't give 3 fucks about (streetpass clone)... but hey, I'll take improvements whenever/wherever they make them.

-option to turn off the text under the bubbles.
This is secretely my most wanted feature. Screw folders, I just don't want to see "Disgaea 3: Absence of ..." and "LittleBigPlanet®PlayStation®Vita™" anymore.

Umm...its like that with pretty much any game. Did you not think it was worthy of a review embargo?

Um, no, it's not like that with every game. I've expressed my disdain for the practice with other releases as well. It's a cowardly thing to do. I understand why some exceptions must be made (narrative driven games, blockbuster releases), but c'mon. It's even more disconcerting that they have a timed "exclusive" with IGN. Thankfully the game looks awesome, lol?

Are we dismissing PSN/XBL games as not the same of those found on retail shelves?

No, but a game that has 5 hours of content certainly doesn't warrant an embargo. That said, as apathetic as I was towards Mutant Blob, this game looks charming as hell. I'll probably pick it up.

yeah I got that mixed,a CFW PS3 is what needed for it.

that's one feature i always forget about. i would love it as well. i don't think you can even do it in ios though, so i feel like it might not ever come.

i can't wait for folders and memory cards that save the bubble arrangements though.

Gematsu says Ragnarok Odyssey Ace (enhanced re-release with a bunch of extra content) is getting a western release.

Aw yeah! Gonna platinum this so hard (again?). Everything looks so much better from what I've heard and seen in the screenshots. I just wish that there were new jobs or that the existing ones are rebalanced (endgame Assassin kills everything).

yeah,it is actually very decent,I'm really shocked that I'm enjoying a game from the genre again (last game I liked from the genre was Chaos Legion).
Wow so i'm not the only one that liked that game?
To be honest i loved that game so much that i want a remake or a sequel for vita(or ps3/4 sice we are talking about capcom)
Edit:
well now that i think about it all my friends liked it lol.

*bro fist*

Chaos Legion is freaking good, very underrated but it's is one of the best capcom games of last gen.

story-wise is there any chance for a sequel tho? (also the novel got no sequel right?)

Senran Kagura is pretty fun so far. Reminds me of Dynasty Warriors Strike Force.

It seems like practically every non-Sony-published Japanese Vita game is native res. Granted, most of them aren't quite as graphics intensive, but still.

Actually, I guess NGS2+, DoA5+, and P4G aren't, but most of them are.

I didn't know it had a novel!
The two main characters were alive in the end, so i don't see the problem,
anyway capcom could make a sequel with different characters.

Oh man with all this talk now i want to replay it :(

I have the pc version, but i don't know if it's better or worse than the ps2 version.
The only thing i know is that the ending credits are different and the pc ones make me sad and nostalgic :(

damn that music..so good.

that it I'm going to replay the game this week(will try the PC version ,hope it run glitch-free on Win7 x64)

Why is there no vita version of injustice? Damn I loved MK on my vita :(

well UE3 is kinda problematic on Vita so far,MKVita sacrificed too many to run well and Doctor Who was the same and then again they still didn't announced PC version..so many Vita version will get an announcement later or something.
