PSVita firmware update 2.10 to add folders, and in browser video streaming

Alright folders! I think 10 per folder is already a lot because I only have a 16GB card, and that really limits the amount of stuff installed in my Vita.

Verify which PS Vita card you are using by looking at the home screen’s info bar. You can also save the layout of your home screen icons in the memory card.

How did Sony see my mockup?

Really glad with all this. They are eventually going to have to raise that 100 app limit. It's fine for now, but that can become a hindrance in the future.

You can have only 1000 apps on the Vita now? No buy!

Seriously, nice to see that Sony is still bringing some new features and folders are a welcome addition.

Saving bubbles lay-out: check!
HTML support with email messages: check!
Improved search function with emails: check!
Streaming videos on browser: check!
Folders: check!
Sending messages to multiple friends more easily: check!
More stuff: icing on the cake!

Fuck yeah! SWAPPING MEMORYCARDS should work now!!!

God, vita firmware updates have always been exciting and handy.

Giving us folders but you still can't have more than 100 icons.

That's ridiculously half arsed, lol

People can complain about this for the next firmware update :P Saving lay-out is the big news (imo) for this one!

God, now I can buy tons of games digitally and not care anymore.

We need to celebrate this if it works as intended!

Maybe the 100 app limit has to do with how the memory cards are formatted. I think it will only become a problem when 64 GB cards roll around.

Why am I so excited to organize my games in folders tonight?

It's a problem now.

There's already tons of Mini's that are <50mb each and there will continue to be tons of small bite sized games that size available, not to mention tons and tons of apps. If they can't fix the 100 app limit with a firmware update, They were rediculiously short sighted and fucked up big.

Having to manage both memory and number of apps is dumb.

Wait, does this mean we can switch psn regions now??

Minis, PS Mobile, f2p Vita games, small PS1 and PSP games... yeah, that's a serious damn problem.

Yes you are.

Can't have an app folder since there are more then 10 apps
Can't have a PSone game folder if you own more then 10 Psone games.
100 app limit is still in effect

This update is beyond pointless.
Arrange all your games from A-Z regardless of what platform they are from. Want to play Gravity Rush? Go to your "E-I" folder. Want to play Persona 3 Portable? Go to your "O-R" folder. That is a much better form of organization. You don't typically think "I want to play a PS1 game and then pick which PS1 game you want to play. You typically know exactly which game you want to play and alphabet organization is best for that.

Yes, the 100 limit sucks, but this update isn't useless. Saving per memory card helps undo some of the 100 cap annoyance, and folders are very useful.

Yeah i'm excited to be able to swap memory cards :P Haha

Wait a sec, they only mention saving icons...does that mean you can't save wallpapers when switching memory cards?

Yeah, that's just what I need 3 folders for my 21 PSone games.

No, it's not.

It pretty much is. It would be like if Sony increased the app limit from 100 to 101. Sure 101 is better then 100, but it would still be fair to call it pointless when the benefit of the update is so rediculiously small.

what does this mean?

When you put in a game card, it makes the appropriate game bubble bounce, but if you navigate away from that screen or play the game and quit, it stops bouncing. There's no way to tell what game is in the system without having to remove the game card. It's especially annoying if you share the system with someone else.

Well nobody is saying it is exactly what you need or the best solution ever, but that certainly beats 3 pages of PS1 games, right? I wouldn't even separate them by platform, myself, but I guess you can now have 1 page of PS1 games within 1 folders instead of 3 pages. Instead, I would organize all games from A to Z with no distinguish being made of what platform it's from.

What's even more messed up is the bubbles stopped bouncing somewhere around FW 2.0.

Beyond pointless? Yeesh.

I like having as few hompages as possible so this is great for me. I can probably get by with 2-3 pages now.

What's the difference between selecting a folder and selecting a page when each page has 10 bubbles on it? So they really didn't change a thing.

Create folders to more easily manage your favorite application icons on the home screen, with up to 10 icons in each folder and a maximum of 100 on the home screen (including icons inside the folders).

Looks like the 3DS is done.
kidding, of course.

Can't wait.

Are the ads from the tabbed view removed just like in the video, or is that too good to be true.

Ah ok, thank you.

Well I definitely prefer having 1 page of folders on my iphone instead of 10 pages of apps. I don't care to constantly swipe.

Personally, I don't see much of a difference but if you prefer one over the other, more power to you.

This is still not good enough.
