Yeah, the memes were dumb. There should be an option to remove them. Combat seems only fun in co-op, and platforming seems only possible alone. Odd game.

Mutant Blobs was supposedly full of memes as well but I don't think I ever noticed them after the second or third billboard. Its basically all background filler that's easy to ignore. I remember a website running a "my favorite memes" story about Mutant Blobs and I didn't recognize a single one

Eh, the memes/references seem mostly limited to the town and then only in the backgrounds, I can live with that. I would probably buy this game if I owned a PS3/Vita.

they're pretty distracting, but not necessarily bad. i just find it a bummer since the game's style is strong enough to stand out on its own, whereas it feels like a bunch of references is something a lesser game would use as a crutch.
I honestly don't watch those kind of shows.

The memes might be a bit overdone, but you guys are overreacting. The charm of the memes in Mutant Blobs was that you mostly didn't even notice them. They were very subtle, but funny and good references. The memes in this game seem a bit overkill and too 'in your face' since people probably said they liked the ones in Mutant Blobs and they just added more because of that, but it's not like the memes ruin the game.
Not only that but half those memes are old and tired now. Imagine playing that game in a year. Might as well have lolcats and the dancing baby in it. Terrible.

I was nearly in tears when Vinny kept pitching the balls at the batter's face. So good, I should give the Show a go. Don't watch baseball but I don't watch soccer either and I love the FIfa games so one would imagine there could be a similar enjoyment here.
