PSVita firmware update 2.10 to add folders, and in browser video streaming

Awesome. We need to revitalize the Vita wallpaper thread.

Vita is faster now as well. I like the addition where it shows what game is in the system on the top right.

Edit: wow some of your guy's screens are nice as hell. Any website in particular for vita wallpapers?

That's awesome. Looks like they read my old thread =P

now I hope they just give me the option to hide some of the bubbles...
toggle hide/unhide

Yeah, that's something I'm a bit more interested in. I like what people are doing with the single page layouts, and custom icons for folders seems like the logical next step, but I'm not really bothered by having dedicated pages for each category of individual bubbles.

My guess is that it was low-priority and they try to only do firmware when necessary to block piracy or when they can do some backdoor add-ons as well (PSone emulator improvements, etc).

The other updates they done in the last year were most important to me (PSone emulation, rear-touch on the browser, better use of the friends list and network status, etc).

It is kind of crazy how few updates we've seen with Vita actually, though. PSP, we'd get huge new features like every few months for a while there (some of those features now come as apps but even then it feels like we got more features in a year than we've gotten on Vita all along.) I guess they had a lot of experience with a multimedia interface and so got a lot of the hard work out of the way in the boxed product (PS3 has slowed down too), but I'm legitimately surprised how few Vita updates have been anything other than security updates.

The only weird thing from this update is that the peel back on the welcome screen stutters now in the peeling animation. VERY weird and seems a little amateur.

This happen to me a couple of times already =/

edit: There's like a pause when the page is half way down.

Streaming videos is more significant than anticipated. Besides streaming Youtube, it also does that for videos from Dailymotion. There are probably other formats supported as well, we need to find the rest out. As if it wasn't clear the vita browser is better than the PS3 one, now it's ten times better.

Buttons supported with the browser is really handy too, especially using sticks to zoom in and move the pages.

Keyboard seems to be slightly overhauled, the buttons aren't as bright but more soft in tone, and the hide button is flashing now.

The email app is much better with HTML support. I don't care about folders as much as others but it sure feels nice to use after it's available.

I don't have enough time to test memory card swapping but I'm already very happy with what we got.

Great news ! Folders, improved porn support, improved mail etc.
It's great but please raise this 10 bubbles per folder to 100 and raise the 100 bubbles in the main screen limit.

Love the icon showing what cart is in the system. Folders is great too, so tidy.

Hate that a 32Gb card is still obscenely overpriced.

Just installed the update. Much better to have all folders on the first home screen. Like how the system now tells you what game you have in the system too. Both features should've been there much earlier, but hey.

I went on the PS Blog (on Vita) and it's awesome that you can just touch a video now and it just plays automatically. Very nice.

So are we able to switch regions if we have multiple memory cards now? Or is that still a no go? And I see people talking about a memory card icon? Where is that exactly? I'm not seeing it.
