Vita PSN Game & Service Thread | April 2013 | Sacrifice your Independent Soul

Sounds like we have similar tastes, although I wouldn't have bought those two, I really don't care for endless revisions of Mario/Luigi. I think I would've only gotten Fire Emblem of the games out now. But whats tempting me is 3D Pokemon and Snes Zelda 2... Does the 3DS feel as
shitty
as it looks? I might need to wait for another redesign =\
the controls are really squished on the 3ds. you can pretty much count on not using the dpad ever, since it's right against the bottom of the device.

the 3ds xl improved everything about the feel of the device, although i do think they made it so that there is too much weight on the top of the system when it's open and in your hands. it puts weight on your fingers rather than on your palms.

i'd say that the 3ds xl and vita are more or less the same level of comfortability, both with different drawbacks. i haven't acquired a grip for the xl though. that might make it awesome.

The 3DS is pretty much the most uncomfortable handheld form design I ever hold in my own hands. Still going to play the shit out of Fire Emblem though.

Meh, thought so. =\

On a side note I got Urban Trial Freestyle on Vita today and its awesome.

Shittiest form factor ever indeed. XL is better because it has bigger buttons, but it's heavy as fuck, the hinge is loose, you need to stare at it from a perfect frontal position and precise distance... it's a mess. I hate playing on that thing, but I have to because Fire Emblem, Crimson Shroud, SMT4 etc :(
Nintendo basically ruined gaming for me.

What we need is Compile Heart heaven...

We're already getting Neptunia RPGs, so we need:

Neptunia 2D Platformer
Neptunia Golf
Neptunia Party
Neptunia Monster Hunter
Neptunia Roguelike
Nepgear's Mansion

Now we've fixed everything, right?

Invizimals: The Alliance, Epic Mickey 2 and Table Mini Golf, in the last 30 days or so.

Epic Mickey 2 is not a Sony game. It's a Disney game being published by Sony for reasons nobody on earth knows. Table Mini Golf...ummm...I suppose? I wouldn't really classify that into what I was talking about, but I guess technically. Invizimals I'll give you, although that's not really a big IP for them at all, except in Spain.

Why are we posting about a competitor's handheld device in a thread dedicated to the VITA???

I have an original 3DS and have been playing the shit out of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on it, but wouldn't have been able to do so without the CPP addon (that adds a second circle pad). Even then the 3DS with CPP (circle pad pro) is no replacement for the awesome Vita hardware even though the 3D effect is rather nice.

EDIT:

You forgot Soul Hackers...
EDIT: OOPS! This is a Vita thread! :)

Takao posted that Sony actually published bad Disney games before (Cars 2 on PSP and other crap),look like they are just stupid or something like that.

You know it's toto, why even bother and quote him? It's literally every 4-5 pages the same discussion and he has repeated every single one of his opinions like a hundred times already.

Because I realized that Toto didnt say this completely without reason and I wanted to see the source myself before judging?

I think I agree with Toto that the sales arent that hot really, but I think its a game that will sell for a long time to come, so its not that bad of a sign for the game itself. Although, I also agree that it will probably mean less MonHun clones on Vita.

their big budget, super highly marketed MonHun clone didn't even hit 200k -and not even close- yet, this is beyond bad for the entire MonHun push on the system..

Thanks btw.

Sucks that those titles can't be multi-plat, keep MarioZeldaKong and give us them.

Fire emblem is a Nintendo franchise is it not? I might be wrong though.

Tactics ogre whilst not a Vita game is still an awesome substitute. Bloody hard though.

How do you play it? Got frustrated over the lack of analog throttle/brake control. There are two touchpads and one analog just standing there.

damn, is tactics ogre really hard? is there a difficulty setting? iw as going to play that. i just finished fire emblem on casual and found it to be the perfect difficulty for me. i hated the story though.

Yep, don't understant why there are no more multiplat titles. I guess middleware must not be very popular in japan.

They basically did the mainenance stuff yesterday and ALL of the store update stuff 1 day later.

Square/X work just fine for me, and you control the bike with the left stick. You can also use right shoulder button for acceleration. I don't know of any touch screen/pad controls though?

Well to be fair it takes awhile to ramp up. After 40 hours or so yes it can get difficult. I think there's around 200 hrs to be had from it. You can back track once you've completed the game to take different paths.

A tip is to keep a couple of multiple saves. Some missions are a Multi map type. You may pick a party and struggle on the second map for example. You can't change out your characters between battles in those types.
A save before the character select may help. You don't over write saves so your good to go there. May feel a bit cheaty lol but it may save your sanity.

You may find your a lot better than me though lol.

Ps the flying horse guy is awesome, forget his name. Don't get him killed.

Yeah, but that's full throttle so reversing the first time in the demo I kept hitting the roof when braking before he somehow made it.

You gotta get used it, but once it clicks its fun. Challenges for high jumps/etc are pretty enjoyable and its cool how they have scoreboard leaders' pictures plastered on billboards in the game.

I need to get this, I have pretty much finished Disgaea 3 and its cheaper than shelling out for a 3DS/FireEmblem.

how is PSM support nowdays? last game I got was Switch Galaxy, and the service seems to be completely dead now.

It is very close to 200k . You forgot the double pack, there are only numbers for the first week but that is 22,050 more.

The campaign can be completed in around 50/60 hours I believe. Completionists can expect to triple that. It's a surprisingly deep game.

P3P is probably my favourite P3 iteration but the "point and click" exploration outside of Tartarus does kill it. I'd kill for a P4G-esque remake but everyone's probably burned out on P3 at this point
not that it would stop Atlus.

I am thinking about a PSP game now, Tactics Ogre vs Persona 3? Which would you buy? I love Final Fantasy Tactics so I am thinking about Tactics ogre
Two different but great games. What I liked about TO is the ability to quick save mid battle and just hop right back in. Some battles can take awhile.

Though I can't say a bad word about persona either lol. Not much help.

That wouldn't stop me from buying it either. ;)

Hmm Soul Sacrifice is an odd game.

Is it primarily an arena fighter?

Seems like there is a lot of different magic.

Not sure quite what to think.

all right checking out the media for Gurumin right now

edit Gurumin looks a bit too "kiddy" for my tastes

It's not a" kiddie game" at all, cartoony art style don't mean that, don't let the art style fool you,but oh well it's your decision/taste after all.

anyway I'm reposting this for anyone here want to know more about Gurumin

Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure is for people who want a 3D Zelda experience and Zelda fans too) it's fully voiced Action RPG game full of puzzles, dungeons and platforming too,the game has very good combat system(with depth),The story is cute at first but go very interesting later,Parin is very good female protagonist(Gurren Lagann's Simon is not the coolest one with a drill anymore..Parin is the new boss),her funny dialogues is amazing and there is a lot of character to meet and enemies to beat and item to get,at higher difficulties the game is challenging but you can play for the story in easy, really one of the best Action RPG in along time from Japan.

As for playing it on Vita, you just map the camera to the right stick instead or L/R make it even better than playing it on PSP, game art style also made it look amazing on Vita oled screen(it wont be ugly like some other 3D PSP games)
