I don't like when customer service reps use the phrase 'as a one time gesture' though. Just seems douchy.
My brother got some money stolen from his apple account due to some fraudulent Chinese app and the guy said he'll refund the money 'just this once'. What if it happened again? Not my fault I got scammed. Not exactly the same as your scenario but that phrase isn't really necessary in my opinion.
